...You know I'm not sure if I should be impressed you can lift sixty-six kilos and jump that high, be scared by it, or just call it sexy.

[ He says this as he's deposited up there. He spins to face her, looking a little sheepish

Well, however you like, of course. The power of Mars comes with more than it's fair share of benefits.

[It she being a little smug? Yes, she probably is. She's not really even half as strong as Makoto-chan or even Minako-chan...but she doesn't intend to talk about them. They have work to do.]

How are you at moving from building to building? I...admit I don't know what you're capable of, but it'd be good to know, since we're partnered up for now.

Probably not as skilled as you, Mars-san, [ He switches names, because he might as well be a little serious ] but by the standards of a normal human, I'd say I'm pretty good at it. Particularly with things as tight as they are here.

[faithfulflame]

Then let's get into position and try to find a place where we can watch our target.

[She starts to move towards the next rooftop, not wanting to look down directly from this one. Getting to the next is easy, and it's not even that far a jump, so...come along?]

[ Deal - he needs to get a running start, but he can manage that jump. It's not that hard! Okay now he does need to tumble when he touches down. But they probably need to go one more building pver

[faithfulflame]

[Probably so. Mars is already running and taking a jump, landing and looking back for him.]

[ He's back on his feet quickly enough, don't worry! He's got this! After all, he's a rough and tumble type fellow! ]

[Excellent! She's not the most patient, so when he gets to the second rooftop, she's already crouched down at the lip of the building to watch the streets.]

He's got a partner now. So that's two.

[ Exhale. And- ]

And neither's an Elite. Okay, your call - do we strike at two, and hope for three?

[ He can lead but hey, she's the one with superpowers here. ]

Let's wait. Maybe there will be another addition. It'd make more sense to see what they're doing anyway. After all, they can't just be standing around, can they?

[Because that wouldn't make sense. Not that the crazy cultists have ever exhibited too much logic.]

No... Well, we hold the city now, so they're probably planning to assassinate us or damage some of the defenses.

[ They do seem to be waiting on someone though. Or something. The two are loitering there, looking around and trying to keep attentive. ]

[faithfulflame]

Probably so...yes.

[Mars watches the area, walking to the other edge of the building. And...sees what's coming. Two more soldiers. But that can't be the extent of it, can it?]

Masaomi-kun, do you see anything coming from the other direction? There are two more of their grunts coming this way.

[generalflirt]

One more over there. There's some more shadows though, so maybe some stealthy ones.

[ And he points off in the other direction, to point out the long figure. The light in that area from the street lights seems to be flickering, so it's not the best view ever. ]

[She looks off with him, and nods. She's seen it, and he's probably right.]

Right, so...at least four, maybe as many as six? How are you comfortable approaching this?

[generalflirt]

It's too much for me solo, because the changes of a Shifter are too high. For the two of us, I'm okay with it. Linda can get the first strike, I'll distract, you've got the ending blows.

[ And he starts to unroll the ninja wire he wrapped around his baton, to try to snake it down from the building towards the growing group. But he doesn't need to be that close, because the ground is still a bit damp. Blood, not water, but he doesn't focus on that. As close as possible would be good though ]

Alright. But when I start attacking you and Linda both need to get clear. I don't want to catch you by accident.

[This seems like a fair plan, and it lets her focus on staying at range rather than up-close fighting. She can do that, but it's much, much easier to be a black mage.]

[generalflirt]

Deal. Make sure you give me a long enough signal to get clear.

[Okay, snake it down. Down... ] This wire'll conduct electricity. I think I can take out one of them like this.

[faithfulflame]

I will.

[Mars settles in to watch and wait, quietly letting him set up his trap. It's actually sort of clever...at least...if he's doing what she thinks he's doing. No need for words, just a little faith that it'll work out.]

[generalflirt]

Alright... [ And... and there, it's close enough. If he tries to worm it any closer, it'll just alert the enemy. For his part, he holds out the end of the wire to Linda, and then kisses her on the forehead ] I'm going in first. Zap this on my signal.

[ And with that, he makes to hop off the roof. He catches himself on the wall using chakra, relieved he can still pull that off, and makes the spider-man crawl down it ]

[Well Mars hadn't expected...that...but hey, it's hardly the strangest thing she's seen lately.

So, while Spider-Boy climbs down and Linda does her thing...Mars remains a silent observer.]

[ okay, let's go pretty broforce! Down to the ground level, he makes sure to touch down behind a dumpster here. He doesn't charge in, but it's clear that they might have noticed something. He thought ht was quiet but... he can't be pressed to do that. Either way, he rummages in his pocket, and pulls out what seems to be a bejeweled gold hoop earring, and hurriedly put it in his ear. He takes hold of the wire, firmly making sure it's only touching the glove. And with that, he gets out of the hiding and makes his way towards the group!

They take note of him now, but he runs, holding the wire still, and then dart left, hard. They run towards him still, following the feint, but his goal is to loop around them, to have the wire touch as many of them as they can.

Linda, meanwhile, looks very agitated to not be in the fray yet, but is rubbing the wire up to her cheek, to be ready to strike. And finally, the signal is made in the form of Masaomi throwing his first kick, only managing to make it touch three of them. Linda complies and shoots the strongest thunderbolt she can down the wire to hit all of them, Masaomi dropping it in the same go and leaping back to put distance.

That might have incapacitated one and certainly harmed the two others, one of them even dropping their weapon. Okay, so far, so good.

Now he just needs to survive. ]

[It's an interesting tactic, and Mars finds herself actually impressed by the maneuver. More with Linda than with Masaomi though, as her experience with Pokemon is limited to having seen a Swellow a few times and the electrical rodent's display of power is not what she expected at all. When she sees the results, she's quick to start pulling back her bow.

She hasn't fully committed yet, but when one of the cultists that was skulking a little further down the street charges towards Masaomi's back, she looses a shot. Nothing fancy about it, just a normal arrow fired with fairly good aim and with a little more power than a girl her size should be able to manage. It pierces the cultist's leg, sending him into a sprawl a few yards from Masaomi, shouting in pain but still able to fight.

The other two that were visible, however, rush towards the wire-wielding boy, and into Mars area of effect. Knowing that the fight can't go on for too long without risking more enemies or a Shifter showing up, she commits now, beginning to charge a lethal attack. Fire begins to seethe in her palms, a miniature sun growing bigger and bigger as she puts more power into it. It'll be blindingly obvious to Masaomi, who's facing her, but not the enemy that's facing him.

Get clear, because it's about to get hot.

[ Ideally, the shock through the wire might have paralyzed them. It seems to have worked for the one, because he only needed to deflect one blow, using his baton to push aside a spear. But he does this with the awareness that more enemies are incoming, and - being solo down here - he is in a very bad position if something unexpected happens. He knows Linda will want to race off the room towards him, but he has to hope she follows the plan and doesn't leap.

No, he-

And then there's some downed guy with an arrow in his leg near him. He's gotta hand it to Mars, she's supporting him well. He drops the wire's end onto the back of that downed fellow's neck, and calls up for Linda to throw in another shock. But when he does that, the light coming from the body of the woman up there stands out. Oh- Oh.

Linda does indeed shock again, but for Masaomi's part, he's scrambling back to put some distance between him and the cultists. Which includes trying to defend against a sword ]

[Mars continues to prepare her fireball, the orbs of heat and flame beginning to fuse together from two separate balls into a singular ever-expanding one. Light from the attack illuminates her face weirdly in the twilight, a scintillating rainbow of hot colors burning away the night. Yellow to orange, orange to red, red to something more akin to the color of blood. Shapes boil within the center of the magic, avian and reptilian, as Rei blends what she'd learned from Helios and Eferin with the power of Mars into something entirely new.

Of course this means it takes longer to wind up. So Masaomi has a little longer to get clear when Mars raises the attack over her head...]

[ Ugh guh! Okay, he's continued to bat them off, but drops his baton to instead whip out some kunai and keep them back without him getting closer again. He's a melee fighter, so-! He ends up with one of them throwing their spear, which misses him, but does hit the root next to him, and causes several of the tiles up there to come and hit him in the head. Come on, let's burninate ]
