I don't know what else we can do right now. It feels like everything is falling apart...

Y-yeah, Kinda. But we can't be stuck too much longer, right...?

[ After all, that bomb got stopped and they took the ships and they were winning. Sort of. Right? ]

I dunno. But other than us who've been shipped out here, there's no one left to protect here. They can't keep us here longer. We dealt with that bomb and everything.

[ Yeah. But... ] Well, we're still here, so I guess we gotta do it. We ain't getting bombed.

No, we aren't. We can at least rest easy on that end, I suppose.

[Not that there's much to rest easy about in this situation, but he'll take what he can get right now.]

[ He exhales here. He's trying to hold himself together here, but- ]

You look kinda tired. You need to go sleep somewhere?

[His first instinct is to shake his head.]

I couldn't ask you to stand guard, unless...

[He debates something for a moment.]

We could take turns watching while the other one sleeps. It would probably be good for you to get some rest as well.

Yeah. that's fine. I've been doin' that a few times with people now.

[ Man, now that the idea of sleep has opened up though, he ends up actually yawning. The air still feels dry . . . ]

That seems to be the only way anyone is getting any sleep during this.

[And Rin's yawn triggers one of his own. He may not be able to see it, but it's loud enough that he can hear it.]

[ There, he can focus on that. Be annoyed. Good lord, he is not getting his rightful 10 hours. ]

[Richard can focus on that too and shift the topic in a direction that's even marginally less depressing, something he's more grateful for than he'll let on.]

I must have terrible bags beneath my eyes right now. How can I possibly show my face to the world like this?

Oh come on, you look fine. You always look like you're some kinda model.

[ He even lightly shoves an open hand into Richard's side there, to scold him a bit ]

[To his credit, Richard doesn't start as much this time as he did when Rin touched him before, and even manages a little smile.]

You know, you aren't the first person to say that to me. Perhaps I should take it into more serious consideration...

[ AND THEN THEY WENT BACK TO THE RED AREA. THEY RESTED. IT WAS WELL. I CAN'T BRAIN DRAFT ANYMORE ]

[JUST AS WELL because Richard will not be the most exciting company for this. In fact he'll probably be quite boring and fall asleep the moment they get somewhere safe.]
