Asbel manages to locate an abandoned building and ducks inside with Richard.]

[In more ways than he's really comfortable with. Now, like then, it feels as if everything is falling apart and they're just trying to hold together the pieces as best they can.]

He'd tried to forget about what happened there. The despair they all felt. The lives that were lost. Having to kill their companions because they'd become infected...

Asbel falls oddly silent over the mention of Vaskoth.]

[That sudden silence makes Richard nervous given his inability to see what his friend is doing.]

[Richard calling his name snaps him out from the depths of his thoughts.]

Y-yeah, everything's fine. [He's sure as hell going to try. He just won't be very good at it.]

[Another repetition of his friend's name, but this time it's in the all-too-familiar "this is a command, not a request" tone. Asbel always listens to him when he needs to talk; it's only fair that he repay the favor.]

[Now he feels a pang of regret for having even brought the subject up in the first place. The comparison had seemed like such a natural one to make, yet upon seeing how much it appeared to be distressing Asbel, Richard is having second thoughts about mentioning it.]
