Zompania Draft: Coming Home
Who: Anyone drafted to Zompania, or recruited as reinforcements, or left behind in the village. SO. Everybody!
What: The draftees and reinforcements return to the village.
When: May 26, early early in the morning
Where: Back in Luceti
Summary: Most draftees and reinforcements return to Luceti in the very early hours; now, instead of a medevac site for the draft, the village is a welcome (?) refuge from the nightmare of Zompania for its own. There's a high likelihood it still looks a lot like it has in the past few days; those in the fight didn't even get a chance to shower before returning.
(This is the place for all your post-draft trauma and reunions and every other thing. Have fun! And don't forget to entry-tag your character.)

His mate was a mess, and Spock's throat felt tight at the sight. Certainly, he's seen Jim injured many times before this, but it didn't mean that he had to like it.]
I believe there is a phrase that adequately describes the possibility of that never happening. 'Hell will freeze over first.'
no subject
What, that you become like Bones? Of course it won't happen, he can tell jokes.
[ He might be being a tad uncharitable right now, but he was tired, hungry, and only slowly starting to ache less and he wanted nothing more to curl and sleep and dream this all away. But he couldn't, because he was standing in a shower and being washed and doing his best not to look down at the muck running down the drain at his feet. ]

Can you manage one glass of water for me, Ashaya?

[ He sighed, tired of fighting, even these little battles, and he nodded.
He crawled onto the sheets and nearly wept for the softness of the bed, for the familiar smell of it. That seemed an odd thing, but after a week of smelling blood and mud and who knew what else, it was heaven. ]

Above all, Spock wanted to be able to help. They were so medically limited here, but... he did have one thing.
Holding his hand to Jim's heart, he called on the spirit he had been learning from, and sent out warmth to his mate's body.]

[ The heat spread through him and he sighed, relaxing, wondering what it was Spock was doing. But he trusted him enough not to question it, not yet, and he let himself settle. He sniffed and worked further into the sheets, using them as a shield from his aches, closing his eyes...
He gasped and jerked, opening his eyes again, heart pounding and breaking out in a cold sweat.
God, was that thing.. was it...? ]

The Vulcan placed a hand on Jim's arm.]
It was a dream, Ashaya, you are safe.
no subject
[ He gulped and nodded his head, running a hand through his hair and realizing he was covered in a cold sweat. But who wouldn't be after that? He groaned and lay back down in the sheets. ]
Sorry Spock. Go back to sleep, I'm fine.
no subject
It is obvious that you are not 'fine', and I would not be doing my duty as your mate if I ignored you. What did you dream of?
no subject
Nothing, just... something that happened in the draft. It'll go away, really.
no subject
[Spock wasn't about to let this go.]
no subject
Can we not talk about it tonight, please? I would like to try and get sleep. I'm tired.
[ Defeated. Hurt. He wanted to sleep forever. He lay back down and worked into the pillows, shivering. ]
no subject
Spock would sit with Jim all night, waiting until his mate woke the next morning. They would talk.]
no subject
[ He would talk to Spock about that last night. he might be his boyfriend, but he was not okay with mind voodoo being worked on him without his permission. Even something meant to help him.
But for now, yes, sleeping. Deep and dark and far away from the thing that lurked at the edge, ready to gobble him up... ]
no subject
Spock is waiting... and guess what? He also has breakfast waiting for you. Bacon and everything.]
no subject
[ It is more the smell of bacon than anything that summons him from his slumber. He peaks his eyes open and instantly spies that delicious treat, and is both suspicious and delighted at the same time. ]
Should I be worried you're feeding me bacon - on purpose?
[ He yawned and slowly sat up, rubbing at his face. ]
no subject
[Spock hands over the tray, the plate loaded with eggs, toast, bacon and fruit.]
no subject
Yeah, about those actions...
[ He pauses, considering the tray and then Spock and sighed. He took the provide cutlery and began to munch munch away on his breakfast. ]
I am almost willing to forgive you because you included bacon.
no subject
[Spock wasn't going to let this go.]
no subject
[ He gave him a look that said how very much he did not want to do that, at all. ]
It'll go away, Spock. Not everything has to be talked out.
no subject
They both know that this is something that won't go away.
no subject
Yes, I do.
[ He huffed and ate his breakfast, convincing himself that yes, this was perfectly true, there was nothing wrong of it, and Spock could go eat his rabbit food as he continued to deny the problem. It had worked before. ]
It's just some aftermath stuff. The further we get away from all this, the better.
no subject
Spock's face didn't change much, but just enough to look sad.
no subject
"It's not that I'm not talking to you, Spock, I just don't think that talking about it is necessary. They're just nightmares, and they'll go away," he shrugged. "Every little thing doesn't devestate me, Spock. I'm okay, really."
He reached out and after a brief hesitation took his hand and squeezed.
"Really, I'm fine."
no subject
"I will do as you ask just this once. However, if these nightmares impede your sleep for more than a week, then will you speak?"
