What: Movies, movies, movies! And games and food too.
When: All day Saturday, June 7th (starts 11ish)
Where: Rec Center
Summary: Ginia throws a movie marathon at the rec center for entertainment and post-draft distractions.
Rating: PG-13 for some of the movies shown, but let's keep it around here or lower.

On Thursday, flyers were posted around the village with another notification of the movie marathon and the list of movies that will be shown:

The Sword in the Stone
Grease
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Moulin Rouge
The Princess Bride
Jurassic Park
Clue
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Come Saturday, the list can also be found outside the rec center. Inside the center, there are tables set up filled with food: fruit and veggie platters, cookies and cake from the bakery, sandwiches, packages of popcorn (with a microwave nearby), and an assortment of packaged candy. As food begins running low, runners will be sent to the stores to bring back more. There are also drinks - water, sodas, juices, tea, and coffee. Alcohol is bring your own, but Ginia also has a small table set aside with some gin, whisky, vodka, and mixers.

Besides what seating is already in the rec center, additional chairs, large cushions, and even two beanbag chairs have been brought in. For those who want to hang out but not watch movies, there's still pool, board games, and a few deck of cards.

Enjoy, relax, and try not to think about the draft.

[In Ginia's mind, the story plays out a bit like an old fashioned western, a bit more thrilling than reality. But having done her own tracking, she realizes there's always more travel than anything else.]

And since I shared a story, I think it's your turn. Tell me about one of your hunts.

[There are plenty of things Ginia could argue about with that sentence, but maybe another time. Deserts definitely aren't for everyone, that's for sure. In some ways, moving to Santa Fe was Ginia's way of getting away. Who was going to look for her there?

But hmm. A story. Ginia considers her years of work, sorting out boring stories, stories that tell a little too much, and ones she's comfortable sharing.]

/Most of my hunt stories are pretty boring, but I do have a pretty good heist story. Ever been to L-A-S V-E-G-A-S?/

[Ginia also didn't need rain and humidity to sleep comfortably, so there was that.

Yuuna and I went once, yes. Only for a few days, to see how it was.

/Confession; I hate the place. Too loud, too noisy, too bright, too selfish./

[Las Vegas was a great place to pull in a mark, but also one of the worst with how secure the place was. You watched your step in Las Vegas or you wouldn't be walking shortly after.]

/But lots of money flowing and where there's money, there's greed. The mark was a judge. He took in payments from private prisons in exchange for making sure people were sent there. Lots of innocent people got locked up so that bastard could line his pockets. So my team decided to take him down./

Honestly? I found it smelled horrible.

And he sounds like a horrible person. I didn't know private prisons were even allowed to exist, given the potential for abuse. What did you do to him? I assume you did catch him, yes?

/Also agreed. And you would be surprised what's allowed to exist when corrupt people run the government./ [Private prisons was only the beginning of everything wrong in Ginia's world. Corruption was a hydra and there weren't enough flaming swords to sever all the heads.]

/As for what we did to him, we fleeced him of several hundred thousands in a fixed poker game, got him to incriminate himself, and turned him over to some trustworthy contacts in the FBI./

[A smile forms. Yeah, that was a good night.]

Mortal governments have little interest to me, save for their policies regarding religion, but...I can understand what you mean. Things rot particularly easily with the right circumstances, and governments are prone to that sort of thing.

But that...that sounds like the plot to a movie. Did you get the idea from one? Because it's very clever.

/Movies and reality have an odd way of reflecting each others. Cons existed well before movies were around, but movies have also popularized popular cons. They all work the same way though. A mark, a plan, a reward, an exit./

Yes, I suppose that makes sense. I don't know much about conning people, but I've read some stories on them. I've...never really had the need.

/Sorry, it's slang. A mark is your target. Usually an individual but it can apply if you're targeting a group as a whole. You can also have multiple marks, but there's usually a primary one. The leader or the easiest one to get to, depends on the goal./

Ah. Well that I do understand. Thank you, for that. I'm not very good with modern slang.

/It's modern slang, but also a little more specialized. Sorry, I forget sometimes not everyone ran with the same crowds I was in./

[Criminal crowds, hunter crowds, grifters, mercs. That was her life for a long time. Her world, though she never quite belonged in it, much like Luceti. But there were good stories and good moments and Ginia knows she loved the thrill of a good job.]
