Who: OPEN to all!
What: Movies, movies, movies! And games and food too.
When: All day Saturday, June 7th (starts 11ish)
Where: Rec Center
Summary: Ginia throws a movie marathon at the rec center for entertainment and post-draft distractions.
Rating: PG-13 for some of the movies shown, but let's keep it around here or lower.

On Thursday, flyers were posted around the village with another notification of the movie marathon and the list of movies that will be shown:

Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Moulin Rouge
The Princess Bride
Jurassic Park
Clue
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Come Saturday, the list can also be found outside the rec center. Inside the center, there are tables set up filled with food: fruit and veggie platters, cookies and cake from the bakery, sandwiches, packages of popcorn (with a microwave nearby), and an assortment of packaged candy. As food begins running low, runners will be sent to the stores to bring back more. There are also drinks - water, sodas, juices, tea, and coffee. Alcohol is bring your own, but Ginia also has a small table set aside with some gin, whisky, vodka, and mixers.

Besides what seating is already in the rec center, additional chairs, large cushions, and even two beanbag chairs have been brought in. For those who want to hang out but not watch movies, there's still pool, board games, and a few deck of cards.

Enjoy, relax, and try not to think about the draft.

[Jean raises an eyebrow at his liquor pour. Not like she didn't think that's where this was going, but benefit of the doubt and all.]

Didn't you once say booze doesn't effect you?

Get 'nough into me 'nd it will. I just take bit more to get pushed over the edge than most.

[Remy raised his own brows at her look.] Quoi? Ya sayin' I shouldn't?

Noo, I would never tell you what to do. Just wondering why you are.

Because I can. [Simple as that.]

Question should be more why do I smoke, that 'least ain't good for me.

I was under the impression we weren't quite good enough friends for me to get on your case about that. [She smirked. Because yeah, totally gross, Remy. But also: your choice.]

Lets go with that, better than any reasonin' I could give.

Ya 'ny closer to gettin' that team 'gether for basketball? [Keeping in mind they did just have a rather large distraction from everyday life in Luceti.]

Unfortunately, no. There's only one or two people who play with any regularity, so it looks like I'm stuck with one-on-one for a bit longer.

Can't 'xpect all the worlds to know 'bout it I guess. [Remy paused to sip at his mixed drink.]

Maybe an educational video, '50s style or something.

Hah! That could be fun to make! If we had the equipment to make it with. Do we have the equipment to make it with?

No clue, depends what shows up in the item store, hein? Might be able to do something 'long that lines with the Battle Dome. Holographic recordin' or some merde.

I bet you're right. I've been able to program all sorts of things into that place; Kurt, even more so. It's quite the bit of technology, considering they don't really give us much else.

[Grabbing a sandwich from a food tray, Remy inclined his head towards some of the seating away from the movie screen, a suggestion for them to take a seat while talking.] 'ssume ya'll have practice from back home. Or did Wolvie 'nd Xavier make up all ya simulations?

[Jean heads towards the seating Remy indicated, taking her drink along with her.]

They did some. You really want to stay out of Logan's runs, though. Ororo did a few. Mostly, though... [Oh. Right. There's that look in her eyes again, as she remembers.] Scott did most of them.

Couldn't be that bad, could they? [Remy quizzed her as he took a seat, chewing on a bite of the sandwich.]

[As her tone shifted, Remy focused on her face.] I know ya miss him cherie, but he be back home. So... semi safe.

I know. I know. [She eyed her drink, preferring not to make eye contact just at this moment.] I feel bad for wanting him to come back again but... [she took a deep breath in, letting it out in a sigh.] I do miss him.

Jeanie, he be a good friend of ya's, be completely understandable. Stuck far 'way from home, it be good to have those ya close to near by.

Yeah. But short of us all going home at once, there's always going to be someone left behind. And I don't want that for him. [She moves just her eyes to look at Remy, from under her lashes, head still angled down towards her drink.] ... And he was more than just a friend.

[Ooohh... he knew that. Didn't know they knew that. Timelines, so confusing when you threw them all together.]

Ah, so missin' him as a beau as well as a friend. 'm sorry Jeanie.

[Technically, neither of them were from a timeline where they should have known that yet. Weird, the things that come out in this place.

She gives another big sigh.]

You know, I told him this would only end in pain, but he promised it wouldn't. Yet, here I am, now. Alone. [She glances at Remy.] No offense intended.

[A little dramatic, but teens, what to expect?] None taken.

How long 'go ya two figured that out? [Couldn't be pre HQ opening.]

Just a little while after Head Quarters' grand opening, actually. [She at least has the decency to look a little sheepish at this. Whups. Sorry!]

[Huh... not that Remy is jealous, just interesting happened after that. She didn't tell... jealousy could had pushed Scotty to confess, couldn't it? Would be damn funny if so.]

That so? Well, be happy for ya that ya two found those feelin' for each other, as much as it hurts to had lost him. 'nd despite the sayin' of love lost 'nd all that, it more or less bull. Still sucks to be 'part.

But don't lose hope Jeanie, never know who will appear with the new groups that keep showin' up monthly. [Got to be stupid not to notice the pattern by now. Strange that aliens kept to such a calender.]

Apparently we were going to find them eventually anyway. That's what the last Scott here said, anyway. And I don't like having my future dictated to me like that. If I'm going to like someone, I want to do it on my own. [She takes big, angry drink.]

Can understand ya there Jeanie. [All too well.] Problem with all these different time lines, never know who's goin' to show up from when.

Yeah. It makes a complex situation even more so. When are you from, again?
