Who: OPEN to all!
What: Movies, movies, movies! And games and food too.
When: All day Saturday, June 7th (starts 11ish)
Where: Rec Center
Summary: Ginia throws a movie marathon at the rec center for entertainment and post-draft distractions.
Rating: PG-13 for some of the movies shown, but let's keep it around here or lower.

On Thursday, flyers were posted around the village with another notification of the movie marathon and the list of movies that will be shown:

The Sword in the Stone
Grease
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Moulin Rouge
The Princess Bride
Jurassic Park
Clue
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Come Saturday, the list can also be found outside the rec center. Inside the center, there are tables set up filled with food: fruit and veggie platters, cookies and cake from the bakery, sandwiches, packages of popcorn (with a microwave nearby), and an assortment of packaged candy. As food begins running low, runners will be sent to the stores to bring back more. There are also drinks - water, sodas, juices, tea, and coffee. Alcohol is bring your own, but Ginia also has a small table set aside with some gin, whisky, vodka, and mixers.

Besides what seating is already in the rec center, additional chairs, large cushions, and even two beanbag chairs have been brought in. For those who want to hang out but not watch movies, there's still pool, board games, and a few deck of cards.

Enjoy, relax, and try not to think about the draft.

With some of the heavy eaters around here, I think it's doable. We'll need lots of people to cook though.

We'll need themed dishes. And maybe encourage people to dress up too, have a bit of fun with it all.

That sounds so cool. I wanted a Lord of the Rings themed birthday party once but I wasn't allowed. And now I'm never gonna see the Hobbit movies either because everyone got eaten.

I have the original trilogy, but tell you what, if I find copies of the Hobbit movies, you'll be the first to know.

Ahhh, that would be amazing! I mean, I assume they got eaten. Maybe New Zealand survived. Some of the cast are probably badass enough to triumph over the undead hordes.

Even if they were eaten in your world, they survived in my world long enough to make the movies. Though Zombie Hobbit could be interesting too.

...I hadn't thought about it that way. So does that mean that, theoretically speaking, there's a universe where Firefly wasn't cancelled?

[Ginia's brow furrows slightly. There's some familiarity with the name as a TV show, she remembers people talking about it over the years - six seasons or something? - but she was never much of a TV watcher.]

I believe so. And just think; movies that were horrible in one universe could be good in another. Or movies and shows that never existed existing elsewhere.

[Six seasons. Sam would cry if that were true.]

A world where the Star Wars prequels didn't suck. That would be awesome.

[Oh god, yes please. That would be amazing. But.. Ginia can't resist a bit of joking. With her best dismayed expression, Ginia writes out:]

There were Star Wars prequels in your world? And they were bad?

You didn't get them? I think you got lucky! They were awful. Kind of glad I missed tickets for the midnight showing honestly.

[...Unfortunately, Ginia had been there at the midnight showing for the first prequel, in costume even. But just playing along.]

What were they like? What characters were in it?

Uh like... Young Obi-Wan, and his Jedi master who I guess were pretty cool, but then they had Anakin Skywalker when he was a little kid and then in the second prequel he became a whiny teenager and it was just... I dunno, awful.
