[He's gotten better at making certain things over the years ~~no more "Ion failed at making a sandwich" messages for him~~ but he's still somewhat cursed when it comes to cooking. It's gotta be one of the few things he's genuine terrible at, aside from maybe drawing.]

I think Anise would prefer the honor of formally teaching you to cook, if you want to learn, but I'll be content with a little baking.

It isn't an age limit, it's a vanity limit. And it is a little sad, to think...of just how long I have lived here, all good things aside.

...I suppose that would serve as a rather unpleasant reminder, wouldn't it.

[And not the sort he can sympathize with as well anymore, given it's the very opposite of a sad reminder for himself -- every year spent here is another year he gets to live.]

But I think that's all the more reason why a cake on your birthday is a good idea. Having something sweet to eat can make for a nice distraction.
