[Pfft. He's too busy being impressed to laugh.]

That isn't Hyt, is it?

[He pats a hand to his chest.] It's symbology. I'd show you my tattoos, but I'm all covered up.

... Apparently I work real well with the light element for some reason. Don't ask me why.

[He's really interested in knowing how that works, but he should be one to talk. In the realm of possible things, he can stab things with his shadow, after all.]

So long as it gets the job done, I'm not fussed. [And it's kind of neat meeting someone with the opposite skillset from him. Not that he thought of light and shadows being such opposites until coming to Luceti.] How well will these hold until we can get out for the big shove?

[He aims for another X, a few rays shooting out from who knew where.]

[OH THAT'S REASSURING.]

It's one of the things they push in the ninja job, yeah.

Good. I suggest we dash for the door when it starts to shake, then.

[Hey, he's not an expert at this.]

That isn't vague or anything.

[Nevertheless he goes to where Isamu dumped their other supplied on the floor, and gathers them back up. Best not to wait until later.]

Let's go the minute you finish then, if that doesn't happen sooner.

[He hastens his pace when it comes to summoning the light beams, a process that starts to drain him a little before he's done. He still hasn't built up much of a mana pool, so to speak.]

Alright. Move it.

[When the last X is hit, there's an ominous creaking noise. The building might not be ready to fall right on top of them yet, but it's a good time to be moving outside.]

[Shikamaru swings Isamu's pack up onto one shoulder, pushing forward in a hard dash for the door. Not pausing to look back, he works a kunai with an exploding tag tied to it from out of his own pack, tied awkwardly around the waist of his hazard suit. Only when he's cleared a safe distance of about twenty feet from the building does he stop and turn around, making sure Isamu is caught up to him before he throws it.]

[If there's one physical activity Isamu can do decently well, it's running. He has no trouble zooming out of the building before it comes tumbling, but he's still a little winded once he gets out from the magic uses.

He's pausing to bend over with his hands on his knees when the bag hits him right in the face. He falls on his ass and just sits there.]

Oi.

[endgames]

You were supposed to catch it. What, never played ball?

[He tosses the kunai next, embedding it in the front wall of the building. The exploding tag tied to the end sizzles, and then it blows.]

[musubi]

A heads up would have been nice.

[He rubs at an eye, looking like he's going to sit there longer until the explosion behind him causes him to rush to his feet with a startled yelp and stumble to the ninja's side.]

Shit, do you never warn at all??

[endgames]

[Shikamaru just kinda stands there, looking across his shoulder at him. Because cool guys don't run away from explosions, yeahhhhhhh.]

I did say I was gonna do it before we left... One big push to knock it out, remember?

[SAID AS THE BUILDING VIOLENTLY BEGINS TO COLLAPSE IN ON ITSELF.]

[musubi]

Yeah, but a little idea of exactly when that push would be might have been nice. You know. Even just shouting heads up.

[He brushes himself off, trying and failing to look less frazzled.]

I'll keep it in mind for the next one.

[musubi]

[Isamu just deadpans at him and hefts the bag back over his shoulder.]

I get a break before the next one, then.

No rush. [Well, unless it's coming from the Malnosso.] Let's find the next one, and you can recover out of sight.

[Oh good. Shikamaru earns forgiveness for agreeing with him.]

Right. ... Wish I didn't have to mess with this thing to get a drink. [He taps the side of the head covering on his suit.]

Heheh. I should've complained about that instead. It is a pain in the ass.

Right??

They should've added a juice dispenser or something. That would have made a lot of this more bearable.

We'd look like hamsters lining up for a drink, but I could deal with it.

No, no. In the helmet! [He taps the side again.]

Who wants to line up for anything?

Yeah, until we need a refill.

Man... always gotta be complications.

[But this building here looks like a good place to touch base. A fallen chimney has collapsed half a wall inwards, so it's easier to step through the holes than look for what's left of the door.]
