Who: Gai, Elizabeth, and all invited (and possibly some uninvited) guests
What: A wedding!
When: Just before sunset on June 30th
Where: The beach
Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.
[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]
[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]
((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

I wasn't sure you'd believe me if I said my heart wasn't even beating this hard when I had a few dozen lasers fired directly at me.

[Well, for guys like them anyway...]
This comes around once in a lifetime or so. Much more stressful.

[Rather than protest, he allows Law to help him get those cufflinks properly situated. No point in letting his pride get in the way today.]
I'm not sure I could take the stress otherwise.
[Which is rather funny, coming from a guy who put his life on the line on a daily basis back in his world.]

[Which go on, tease Law for those couple of silvery blue hairs underneath his hat. He's earned it.]
There, perfect. [Cuff links done. Suit on. Tie tied.] You're all ready to go.

[He'll admit, that's something he's used to his advantage on multiple occasions. But he likes his hair, okay, and he'd rather not have it greying prematurely.
Once the cufflinks are set, he takes a moment to adjust them until he's satisfied with their position (which honestly doesn't look any different from how they were when Law had done them for him; he's just nervous).]
And here I thought being ready to go would make me less nervous, not more.

[He's slipping a small scroll out of one of his inside pockets. Law's just going to unfurl it so it lies flat on a table, press his palm flat on two of the symbols for a moment...
POOF!
When the smoke clears there's a pack of playing cards and a small sake bottle with two cups.]
... came prepared for that.

I'd be worried if you hadn't.
[And oh man, could he use a drink right about now.]
no subject
... so what's your fancy? Poker? Blackjack? ... something else?
[Scooting the items off the scroll before rolling it up and slipping it back out of sight. That done, Law gets to the business of pouring Gai his well earned drink.
And his own. Now, to begin shuffling that deck.]

[He settles down into one of the chairs, leaning back and lounging probably more than is really necessary (or proper in that suit). No sooner does Law set his drink down than he picks it up and takes a sip-- though to his credit, he doesn't chug it, as much as he might like to right about now.]

[Law begins to deal. Phase two of Distract Gai begins - aka small talk.]
... nice to have a drink without having to worry about it disappearing on me. Itachi's been having his fun lately. He's been sealing everything into scrolls - and if it's something I tend to really like? [Aka BOOZE.] I am guaranteed to find some kind of chakra lock on it.
[The pirate's more amused than anything. It's training and Law has his fun too in return.]
You think he's trying to tell me something?
[Except the thing is Law's been consciously cutting down on his drinking and banned himself from the drink in the aftermath of experiments.
It's probably not that. At least that anyway.]
