Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.

[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]

[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]

((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

[Gai keeps his eyes fixed on Elizabeth throughout the speech, squeezing her hands back as a sort of silent reassurance. Although he too is nervous, somehow just hearing Law's words fills his heart with a swell of joy. The sudden prickle of tears at the corner of his eyes surprises even him, though he's quick to blink them away (hopefully) before Elizabeth notices.

And then Law comes to the line-- that one line that manages to dampen the level of joy he's feeling right now even the slightest bit. And he too turns his gaze toward Booker and the Luteces in a wordless question. Will they say anything?]

[Booker either doesn't have a problem with this union or doesn't think he has any place to talk. Either way, he doesn't do anything but smile - just slightly.

If there was any sort of blessing he could give to an already married couple, that was it.]

[Nobody piping up? Good. He doesn't need to commit murder later. Let's continue before anyone decides to change their mind.

The rings appear on a small pillow in a flash of blue light to rest in his hands.]

Gai, repeat after me.

I, Gai, take you, Elizabeth to be my wedded wife. To be by your side no matter what life and the world brings. To nurture a bond of honesty, respect, and trust; one that withstands the tides of time and change, and grows along with us.

I vow to honor and respect you for all that you are and will become, taking pride in who we are, both separately and together.

[Elizabeth nearly starts crying again when she sees Booker smile a little. If anyone could have swayed her, it would have been Booker. Even before he was her father, Booker is her closest friend, the person she owes so much of her life to.]

[She nods to Booker and squeezes Gai's hands again before looking back at him.]

I, Gai, take you, Elizabeth to be my wedded wife. To be by your side no matter what life and the world brings. To nurture a bond of honesty, respect, and trust; one that withstands the tides of time and change, and grows along with us.

[Though Gai is merely repeating the words Law just read aloud, he says them with such love and such reverence that it seems more as though he's making an impromptu speech from the heart. Not once does he break his gaze, his grey eyes locked on her blue ones the entire time he says the vows. These are, without question, the most heartfelt words he's ever said, "Would you marry me?" aside.]

Alright, Elizabeth, after me.

[And Elizabeth's eyes never leave Gai's as he speaks, and it looks like she's about to cry again. She has to squeeze Gai's hands again, tightly, to keep her composure. Towards the end, the only way she can keep herself from crying is by nodding along with everything Gai says.]

[Then it's her turn. She has a few false starts, embarrassed smiles in Law's direction, but then she finally gets it out.]
