Who: Gai, Elizabeth, and all invited (and possibly some uninvited) guests
What: A wedding!
When: Just before sunset on June 30th
Where: The beach
Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.
[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]
[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]
((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

Of course I do! [She sets the plate down on a nearby table and holds out a hand to him.] Come dance with me--
[Elizabeth stiffens, images assaulting her mind without any warning. A canvas splattered with paint, Booker with white hair, two figures in masks strung up--]
[It's over quickly, just like it had been in the item shop, and Elizabeth is taking deep breaths as she tries to sort herself out.]

[He's quick to respond, just as he was last time. Concern furrowing his brow as he bends to her height to look her straight on and see if he could somehow figure out what was wrong with her. First time it wasn't a problem, second time....it was enough to make him wary. Especially with the way her powers were.]
You okay?
no subject
Yeah... yeah, I'm fine. [She catches her breath, recovers, and smiles again. But that's the second time she's had this kind of strange pseudo-memory-recall. Once was a fluke, twice seemed to suggest a pattern.]
[But she didn't want to think about that now. Whatever had triggered it, what it meant, all of that would be better left to a day that wasn't today. Carefully, she reaches out both of her hands this time.]
Come on, I won't be able to get you to dance with me any other day, I'm not wasting the opportunity.
I GET TO USE THIS ICON AT LAST
And - most likely because it will allow her to ignore whatever might be happening - he leads her to the designated dance area, pulling her into the proper form for any kind of partner dance with a surprising lack of his usual awkwardness.]
It's not every day you get married.
[And I get to be here.]
AAAAT LAAAAAAAAST~
[At least, that's what she's going to tell herself.]
[She smiles and follows Booker's lead.]

[He smiles as he says it though and is incredibly grateful the song that is playing isn't fast.
Slow dancing is the only kind of dancing he doesn't absolutely hate. Because it doesn't require much effort and he doesn't think he looks that stupid doing it.]
Your ... she loved to dance.
[He's not quite there calling Elizabeth's mother her 'mother'. It's strange and complicated in too many ways.]
no subject
She did? [Elizabeth smiles, though it looks a little wet.] Did you dance with her a lot?
no subject
Not for the first time, Booker thought to himself that he didn't deserve this.]
When she managed to wrangle me into it.
[He answered, with a aborted little laugh. Not nearly enough, he thinks.]
I think she thought it was funny.
no subject
[Except she can, completely and totally.]
why is he twelve?
Laugh it up now, no one will believe you.
[Now that he is smug about.]
Because Booker
[Elizabeth laughs, but mostly because she's grabbed Booker's hands and swung herself like they're both going to spin until they fall over.]
good a reason as any (i need to get the mileage out of this icon)
[It has no power behind it as he's forced spin around in a tight circle with her, but at first he does seem a bit freaked out.
Around the second or third rotation he might start smiling. Or grimacing, it's hard to tell.
He does grip her hands tighter and lean back just a little. He knows he weighs more than her so he doesn't try to fall backwards or anything. It's just for a little more momentum.
Because this is kind of fun.]
Yis, always yis. *chinhands*
Booker, Booker stop, stop! I'm going to fall over! [Given how she struggles to get that out through the laughing though, she's not really in any imminent danger.]
