Who: Gai, Elizabeth, and all invited (and possibly some uninvited) guests
What: A wedding!
When: Just before sunset on June 30th
Where: The beach
Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.

[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]

[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]

((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

You'd have to tell me what that one involves. It doesn't really exist anymore in my era.

Ugh, then we can't use that. It would probably be hard to fake the large red-spotted rash, too.

What do you suggest, then?

Shouldn't be too hard to whip up a severe case of lovesickness. That one would affect everyone else a lot more than it would us.

You think? [Elizabeth raises her eyebrows and looks around at the gathered crowd.] How do we get a 'severe case of lovesickness' then?

[Now that is just asking for it. Not that Gai is complaining one bit, but Booker might...

... except he's going to go ahead and lean down to kiss her anyway. Avert your eyes, Booker, this one isn't quite G-rated.]

[Oh. They just PDA their way to the top.]

[Elizabeth leans into the kiss, arms going around Gai's shoulders, stretching up on tiptoe until Gai just drags her off her feet. Yes, she was lovesick, but she had been for a while.]

[They're allowed, it's their wedding and they can make out if they want to.

His own arms tighten around her waist to hold her securely against him while they kiss and lessen some of the effort she has to put in to remain on tiptoe. If he were to answer honestly, he'd been lovesick ever since the day he'd first met her.]

[True enough. And all of this talk about post-reception is making Elizabeth very eager. She needs something to take some of the edge off.]

[When she finally needs to breathe, she breaks the kiss with a happy hum and rests her forehead against Gai's.] Well I think I'm running a fever now.

[Gai's laugh in response is bordering on breathless, albeit the very good sort.]

Think you might've passed that one along to me too.

Sharing everything already, even germs. [She giggles and leans on Gai, letting him support her weight for a moment.]

You say that like we haven't been sharing those for a long time.

[He allows it easily, just grinning down at her with the utmost innocence.]

Shhh. [She puts a finger to her own lips this time-- she knows what happens when she tries it with Gai.] It counts double now that we're married.

Double the cooties?

[He can't help himself; that was just begging for a response like that.]

...cooties? [Some things are going to change veeery slowly.]

... never mind. I'll explain it to you later.

[In the meantime, he's going to use this as an opportunity to steal another kiss.]

[Oh, well, okay then.]

[Elizabeth doesn't much mind not getting an answer this time. They're fooling around and joking, she's had some champagne and Gai has more or less taken her off her feet. She curls her finger around a lock of Gai's hair and smiles into the kiss. They must be a sickeningly sweet picture now.]

[Hopefully sickeningly sweet enough that everyone else will get the hint that the two of them would like some time alone... or the chance to make a getaway before they get swarmed by more well-wishers offering congratulations. At this point, Gai will take either one of these options.]

[So will Elizabeth. She's been thanking people all day it seems, she's ready for it to be just her and Gai.]
