The setup for the party is pretty simple. Several coolers filled with ice for drinks (soda, bottled water, juice, assorted alcohol and mixers) with cups nearby, a food table with some cookies and cake from the bakery, two sandwich platters, some salads, fresh fruit, and a veggie platter. There's a grill going for roast vegetables, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, and fresh seafood, often run by Ginia but anyone else who wants to watch the grill or grill their own food is welcome to do so. People are also more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks. There's driftwood set up in a small firepit for once the sun goes down.

There are a few folding chairs and blankets spread out for anyone who wants to sit down as well as a card table or two.

Relax, meet new people, enjoy the food, and watch out for ghosts or shifts that might ruin your food.

((ooc: Handwaving the IC announcement of the party. Characters can still drop by even without checking in on the post (though that would be great for stats purposes). Feel free to say your character was there for set up and later take down, it's mostly handwaved unless people want to play things out.))

[While he might be one of, if not the, youngest people there, Lance was all over this party. Almost everyone from Lance's world, or an alternate version of it, is a child still. He hasn't had the opportunity to really get to know many of the other adults here in Luceti either.

Plus, after seeing a ghost of a dragon friend from his previous stay, he was more than happy for something a little more uplifting.

So the party is plus one caped red head. He also happened to bring some food along. A couple pecha berry pies. He's gotten pretty creative with all the berries he's managed to grow on the farm.

Lance will just be mingling with whoever wants to take the time to talk with him. Eventually, he'll also be sitting on the sand with Dragonite, watching the ocean.]

[While certainly not the largest Pokemon in the village, Dragonite still makes for an impressive sight. Adorable as well. Ginia's dog, Laika, pads over with tongue lolling and tail wagging back and forth. She barks and sniffs curiously at Dragonite as Ginia comes over. She smiles at the two, quickly typing up a message on her cellphone then letting the phone read it out loud when she finishes.]

I'm sorry to intrude, but can I ask about your friend? I've never seen anything like him before.

[Lance has never met Ginia properly before, and is a little surprised by the phone doing the talking for her. Though he smiles politely, which only broadens further at the interest in his friend.]

Of course. What would you like to know?

[Amazing how you can live in a village and still not know the people around. Ginia remembers him from having seen him on the network before and more recently (though more hazily) as one of the professors in the now defunct Luceti University.]

What's his name? And he's a Pokemon, right?

[Always the best starting place.]

This is Dragonite.

[He says this while Dragonite bends over to get a better look at Ginia. The large yellow Pokemon lifting his paw to wave at her.]

And yes, he's a dragon type Pokemon.

[Ginia returns the wave and offers a bow of her head.]

Nice to meet you. And you as well, I'm Ginia.

[Lance pushes himself to his feet and offers his hand to her.]

I'm Lance, it's nice to meet you too.

[Dragonite squeals happily in agreement.]

[Ginia takes his hand and gives it a firm shake.]

This may sound silly, but can I get the spelling for your Pokemon? I want to make sure right and I hate misspelling names.

Sure, that's not a problem.

[He hasn't been asked that before, but he can see why she would want to know.]

It's dragon with an i-t-e on the end. Dragonite.

Thank you.

She turns toward Dragonite and types out a message for him.]

And it's very nice to meet you as well, Dragonite. This is my dog, Laika.

[Hearing her name, Laika barks twice, tail swishing back and forth before padding over and flopping on the ground next to the pokemon.]

Red's mentioned you. Says you're a Champion.

[Dragonite bobs his head cheerfully. He's glad to be meeting Ginia as well... and Laika! The pokemon bends down to sniff at and get a better look at the pooch as she flops down next to him.

The mention of Red though draws a slightly surprised look from Lance, but then he quickly smiles.]

That's right. I'm the Champion of the Indigo League back home. It's part of my job to take challenges from Pokemon Trainers.

That must be a difficult position to maintain. If someone beats you, do they become the new champion?
