The setup for the party is pretty simple. Several coolers filled with ice for drinks (soda, bottled water, juice, assorted alcohol and mixers) with cups nearby, a food table with some cookies and cake from the bakery, two sandwich platters, some salads, fresh fruit, and a veggie platter. There's a grill going for roast vegetables, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, and fresh seafood, often run by Ginia but anyone else who wants to watch the grill or grill their own food is welcome to do so. People are also more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks. There's driftwood set up in a small firepit for once the sun goes down.

There are a few folding chairs and blankets spread out for anyone who wants to sit down as well as a card table or two.

Relax, meet new people, enjoy the food, and watch out for ghosts or shifts that might ruin your food.

((ooc: Handwaving the IC announcement of the party. Characters can still drop by even without checking in on the post (though that would be great for stats purposes). Feel free to say your character was there for set up and later take down, it's mostly handwaved unless people want to play things out.))

[Alas, poor Porkrick. And skipping ahead a few lines, but:]

/Roasted away along with fat an inch thick, I fear./

/I have great fondness for your S-H-A-K-E-S-P-E-A-R-E, his comedies are most entertaining, his dramas as grand as any tale told in A-S-G-A-R-D./

[The great bard, timeless and universal as it seems.]

/He's one of my favorite writers. Had a way with words and wonderful humor. What are plays in A-S-G-A-R-D like?/

/histories, mostly. Tales of valor spun by bards from those that were present at the battle or passed down from their elders./

/Are there any here? I would be interested in reading them./

[There are books with mythology, yes, but something more true to the source would be fascinating.]

/A few, perhaps, though my brother tends to hoard them. Knowledge is power and he is wary of sharing it with others. I am certain that I might manage to secret one away for you/

[ a beat. ]

/Not the one about my brother, myself, and the false wedding. That we do not have written just yet./

[Knowledge is very much power and she can't blame Loki for hoarding books from their world.]

/That would be appreciated, though don't go through too much trouble either./

[....And yes, she wants to ask about that story. She wants to ask very much.]

/it shouldn't be much trouble. He can't see me take it. And if I cannot speak and he cannot see he can't tell if I'm lying about it either./

[ Which is for the better, as he's not terribly talented with lying. ]

[GInia smirks. Very clever. And yes, caught there.]

/Whether it's true or false it sounds like a good tale./

[ He chuffs a silent laugh, shoulders rolling with the force of it. He's long since come to terms with that particular venture. ]

/Had the giant king not been so blind He truly would have made note of my build. I was not a pretty bride/

[Ginia ponders the mental image and finds herself chuffing a little.]

/And why were you a bride to the giant king?/

/I may have misplaced my hammer. This was before I had mastered the art of calling Mjolnir back to me. In return for the hammer he wanted a bride. A bride that did not wish to marry him, even in jest./

[Ginia smiles as she puts together the pieces of the story.]

/And so to retrieve your hammer and save someone from an unwanted wedding, you pretended to be the bride. What was your brother's role?/

/As my handmaiden. I could not speak lest it give the game away but my brother, a master of changing magics, could appear and sound however he wished. He explained my appetite and ability to drink and silence as shyness and nerves./

/The perfect cover. How did you get your hammer and escape the giant king? Out drank and ate him? Used magic to trick him?/

[Common tricks in mythology and stories after all.]

/Mjolnir was either at the alter or resting at his side for the entirety of the day- some of the details have been lost to me. There was...quite a bit of mead involved in the pre wedding feast./

[Hidden in plain sight. Though more likely, perhaps the giant king wanted to show off his new weapon and his bride-to-be.]

/I imagine the drinking and feasting would have been a grand sight. But a matter of waiting for the right time to grab the hammer?/

/A good and proper time. Right in the middle of the exchange of vows, such as they were. He made his, I took Mjolnir in hand and we fought our way out, my Brother and I./

[Objections to the wedding made indeed. Ginia grins as she imagines the two fighting their way out of the wedding feast.]

/A pity that one is not yet recorded, though thank you for sharing. Let me know if it ever becomes a play./

/Oh tis a tale oft retold should you read the midgardian books on our legends. For that I blame Fandral. He never could keep a story to himself if there was an audience to entertain./

/I admit it's been awhile since I've read any myths. I should change that./

[Her stomach gives a tiny growl and Ginia looks over at the roasting pig. Crispy and roasted skin, fat dripping off, that pork is looking good.]

/Think it's almost ready?/

/Let us take a cut to be sure./

[ He pulls a clean knife from his belt, long and narrow, suitable for cutting hunks of flesh from the roast boar. This he offers to Ginia hilt first. ]
