It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.

And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.

At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.

Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.

...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.

[He wipes the tears away dramatically.]

[She's just dumbfounded for a moment.]

[Ooooh. Her expression flattens out.]

Well put your 'youthful spirit' to work. This second floor isn't going to build itself.

I will! [And then he begins furiously hammering at things while he speaks.] I intend to complete today's work within the hour... no, half an hour!

[His furious banging goes well with her yelling.]

Don't just hit the boards, you idiot! You'll bend all of the nails!!

Ah! But won't they be more firmly in place if they are bent?! I truly believe that all of my hammering... can only be making these walls stronger!

... Actually, you've probably got a point.

[Okay sure, let's bend all of the nails while we're building this place, what's the worst that can happen.]

Really? [He smiles brightly.] I suppose that sometimes, true wisdom shows itself through the rashness of youth! [Now for more irresponsible hammering!]

You really glorify that youth, hm? And here I thought most people hated rash teenagers.

[Aww yeah, let's nail down these boards in a completely horrible fashion.]

Ah... Only the unyouthly! And this, this is all thanks to the teachings of Gai-Sensei! When I first met him, I thought that he was quite odd! But he taught us all the true meaning of youth! The rashness that comes with being a teenager... It is to be celebrated and punished!

[Keeps hammering away, jovially!]

Celebrated and punished?

That's right! When I have given in to that rashness in the past, Gai-Sensei has punched me and then hugged me!

Sounds like a decent enough strategy for dealing with a teenager, I guess.

It was very effective! If it weren't for things such as that, I might not be the youth you know today! [He flashes a thumbs up and a sparkling smile.]

So this Gai was your teacher, hm?

[~~lol, this 'gai'~~]

[Eager nods.]

That's right! He taught me everything I needed to know to be a great ninja! He's also the one who introduced me to fashion and trendy hair cuts! I owe a lot to him!

Including that green thing?

That's right! So no matter what, we always match! I hope you can meet him one day!

Match, huh. How much do the two of you match.

Ah... [He beams proudly.] In terms of clothing! A strong brow! A youthful haircut! And most importantly... [He gives a thumbs up and a sparkling smile.] Fighting spirit!

He must be a handful then.

[If this is the pupil, she can only imagine what the teacher is like.]
