It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.

And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.

At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.

Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.

...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.

[He smiles back at her at first! It is a refreshing outlook on things. But it falters a bit as he thinks of how long he's been here.]

It's been about two and a half years.

You must know everything about this place, then! What's the most fun thing to do here?

[He smiles a bit more at that.]

Wow, that's a tough one! There's lots of fun things but it's hard to say which one's the most fun! And we're also kind of in the past now so a lot of the more fun things aren't around yet...

[pokegirl]

We're in the past? ... you're from the future? That's so weird. Like, in a cool way. What is this place like anyway? I haven't left the forest yet - I'm not going to until I find my pokémon. They should be around here somewhere.

[savedtheworld]

That's- that's right! Normally we're in the future... which is the present! But right now we're in the past... that's the present right now! And there's a village, and one day it's gonna be a lot bigger! But right now it's small and- um- oh, we're supposed to keep the time things a secret! So you gotta pretend this is the present.

[He smiles meekly and rubs at his head.]

You know, why don't I just help you look for your Pokemon? An extra set of eyes always helps!

[pokegirl]

I'll just go with the flow, I guess! ((And everything will turn up roses. That's Leaf's motto, anyhow.))

Oh, will you? Well, I guess you might not know what they look like, but... one of them is small and blue with a brown shell, and another is a bird with wings... just like mine, actually! If we find one of them, they'll lead us to the others. They're super smart.

... oh, and it'd probably be easy to spot Rocky, too. She's my Steelix. She looks like a.... really tall... rock snake. Yeah.

Really? Sounds great! I'll keep my eyes open for all of them! I just have one question.

[pokegirl]

Oh? What's the question?

Um... I find your Steelix... Can I ride on her? Pretty pretty please?

[pokegirl]

Yeah! ((A pause.)) Wait. Rocky's kinda... hmm. You'll have to become friends with her before you can ride her. But if you two become friends, of course you can!

[savedtheworld]

Great! I love making friends, so I'll be glad to make friends with Rocky!

[pokegirl]

And I'm sure Rocky will be happy to make friends with you! ((Or something like that, at the very least.)) Have you met many pokémon before? I know your granddaughter had one, but how about you?

I never had one, but I've known a lot a people around here who've had Pokemon! Some of them went home, but most of the ones who're still here are friends who I know! And I think I know all of the people here who have Pokemon that were born in Luceti.

[pokegirl]

Whoa, they have breeding facilities here? That's the best! Oh man, once I find my pokémon, we're going to have so much fun here.

Well... I don't remember seeing anything like that around! Come to think of it, I don't think I really know for sure how they were born.

[pokegirl]

((Leaf's got this! She might not be very book-smart, but she knows about pokémon. A little.)) Pokémon are born from eggs! Some pokémon are compatible to have eggs with each other, and some aren't. That's all I know, but if there were breeders here, they'd probably know more.

[savedtheworld]

Oh! I think I know that much at least. Gold... he's supposed to be good at breeding Pokemon! I think he might have something to do with the Pokemon who were born here... so he's your man!

[pokegirl]

That'd be so nice. I'm going to miss not having all my pokémon with me. I haven't had just three pokémon with for... months and months. Maybe even years.

[savedtheworld]

Wow. That is a long time. [Aang may not have Pokemon, but he does understand the value of companions like Appa and Momo.] At least they're safe at home while we're here. And- and you'll get to see them again someday. I know it.

[pokegirl]

I'll be okay! It's all okay as long as I know they're safe. I've run into my fair share of actual trouble before. This place doesn't seem so bad in comparison.

[savedtheworld]

That's nice to hear. [He smiles at her.] Just be careful, and hopefully things'll turn out for the best.
