It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.

And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.

At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.

Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.

...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.

((She just looks around, quietly taking everything in, until Red asks her a question.)) Well, Ch'Ding here, of course. Then a Squirtle that Professor Oak gave me, a Flareon, a Steelix, a Bellossom, and a Murkrow. They're the best.

(( A what-a-what?? He only understood two of those... ))

Uhm... I think the other trainers can help you find them; they've been trainers longer than me. I don't actually know most of those pokémon...

(( He's not going to be ashamed about that, okok. ..maybe a tiny bit embarrassed. But either way- ))

Did you want me to lead you to them? I don't know where they're staying but there's got to be someone somewhere that can help.

Aw, that's so cute. How long have you been a trainer? ((Warning: Leaf is taking him under her wing.)) How many badges have you gotten? What pokémon do you have here?

-- I don't think I'll need much help to find the others. Ch'Ding here is super smart. He could probably find all of them, no problem.

(( What-- did she just call him cute for being a newbie? UGH. ))

I already told you my pokémon, remember? Snorlax, Pikachu, and Venusaur. Snor and Venusaur are hanging around the farmlands right - that's where we met Ch'Ding. (( And as for those other questions... ))

Anyway, isn't there anything you wanna know about this place? (( psyche he's not answering them. )) How about finding a free room?

No, there isn't! ((Just as chirpy as ever.)) And I can figure out where to sleep later. You don't get to Champion of Kanto without spending a few nights in less than ideal sleeping conditions.

What I'd really like to know is how many badges you have. I just love getting to know other trainers! ((Lalala sorry are you trying to brush her off? She's just going to pretend that she has ~no idea~))

... I've got four of them. (( And admittedly, he does feel ashamed saying that. Champion of Kanto that beat Blue, this is too uncomfortable okay. He's squirming on the inside, though that brings an idea to his mind. ))

But you don't want to know about me. If you're a Champion, don't you want to meet another Champion? (( Oh, hear him brighten up. )) There's another trainer here that's been all over the place too.

Of course I want to know about you. I mean, meeting other Champions is great and all, but it's... really important to me that I meet as many trainers from Kanto as possible.

((She crosses her arms, then admits a little shyly-)) I wanna be... inspiring. You know. It's silly, but I always looked up to the Elite Four when I was a kid. And now I want to meet and learn about as many trainers as possible, so I can be inspiring too.

(( Um, well that's... something. Not something he can give an answer to right away, but he gives her a smile eventually. If a little awkward. ))

Well- I'm sure everyone will want to meet you! But the people I'm talking about are from Kanto too. So let's find them, okay?

(( And he turns around, looking this way and that until he starts walking. )) Let's check out the food store!

O... kay. ((Yeah, her conclusion is that this guy is nervous about something. He changes the subject on her way too much. Just what that something might be... she'll figure it out!)) Sure, let's go to the food store! There might be something nice for Ch'Ding to munch on.

Sure! And your other pokémon too! (( Good, let's go over and into that building. It may not be as nice and full and as amazing as it usually is (in the future), but most people still have to visit it if they want to get some food. Maybe Cilan will be in there for ingredients...!

No, it's not the green-haired connoisseur that Red finds when he pokes his head inside, but it is a trainer. Not a Kanto one, but - whatever, good enough!! ))

Hey, Gold! I found a trainer in the woods! Say hi to her! (( Yep that's your warning Gold until Red motions for Leaf to come over to him. )) This guy's from Johto, but come and meet him!

((She'll glance around the interior of the building curiously before turning to the boy Red says hello to.)) Oh, Johto? We're practically neighbors! Hi, I'm Leaf, from Pallet Town in Kanto. It's nice to meet you! ((And she puts her hand out to shake!))

Hmm? [He turns in Red's direction when he calls his name. The fact Red wants him to meet somebody he knows has Gold raising his eyebrow at the idea. It just seems odd for Red. But he'll play along.]

Yep, that's right! Gold from New Bark Town's the name and town, so don't forget it. [He'll shake that hand now.]

(( Good good, isn't this nice? ))

She's still missing two of her pokémon, and I figured you and the other trainers would know more about them. I've never heard of them! (( He shakes his head, then takes a few steps back. ))

But I've got to check on my pokémon too - I left Snorlax on the farmlands and he's been really grumpy lately. (( He nods, oh look more steps closer to the door. )) See you both around?

Wait, you're leaving? ((She turns to look at him, frowning as he heads for the door.)) ... oh. Okay. Bye, I guess. ((And she raises a hand in a half-hearted wave before turning back to Gold.))

You know, I've always wanted to visit Johto when I was a little less busy. How great is it? I mean, obviously it can't be as great as Kanto, but--?

Of course not, because it's better. All the towns are full of life and diversity! Plus, we've got the Radio Tower and the Pokeathlon Dome. [What's Kanto got, hmm? A tower full of dead pokemon, oooh how special.]
