[After hearing that one of his best friends left Luceti, Ven's suitably bummed, but he's trying to hide it by wandering around town and socializing. Oh, and getting some treats from the bakery because, hey, desserts help lighten the mood.

He must not be aware of the experiment going on.]

[ooc: He's taken by Fuuko, but I don't mind other interactions too. c:]

[Guess who's passing by the bakery and notices Ven inside getting his desserts. Being the friendly little starfish she is, Fuuko moves to head inside and give Ven a nice big hello!

Sadly however, it seems a lump has formed in her throat and she can't find the right words she wants to say... Even if it's just saying hello! This might be a problem, it's not like something like this has ever happened to her before.

So for now she's standing outside the bakery, looking in through the shop window at Ven.]

[Hmm, a chocolate cupcake oughta work! He'll go ahead and grab one and then turn for the door--- oh, it's Fuuko! Seeing a friend always manages to lift Ven's spirits just a little bit, so he heads over to the door with a huge grin, but...

... oh. He feels kinda funny. Nervous? But why? It's Fuuko and she's really nice. Erp. Well, after a brief moment of awkward staring he'll step outside.]

H-Hello Ven-- {Cough cough, ahem... Let's try that again, less croaky and awful sounding this time.] Hello Ven-san! It's nice to see you today, [...Uhm.] What are you doing today?

Er... well, I was just grabbing a bite to eat.

[Those butterflies in his stomach, what are they doing there? What does it mean?

Right, that would explain why you're at the bakery. [Duh.]

Fuuko is okay, today Fuuko was going to... [What was she going to do? Shopping? Go to the library? Whatever it was she had planned she's only drawing blanks now.] --To the bakery! It just so happened Fuuko was lucky enough to see you on the way here, Ven-san.

Heh, heh. Funny you mention the bakery, since I was just... there.

[What was he going to do now? Uh.

Mm, Fuuko just saw you in there after all.

[...Wow this isn't going to get awkward fast or anything. Where has her wonderful way with conversations and starfish gone today?!

Just a cupcake! But it's... good. So far. I mean, I've only taken one bite, but.

[Flustering. He'll... look back at the door.]

Ah, a cupcake would be very nice. [...] Not that Fuuko can't go inside and get a cupcake or anything like that, Fuuko is perfectly capable of visiting the bakery! But!

[A cupcake from Ven sounds pretty nice, not that it would taste any different or something. It's a pleasant thought though...]

[Leon heads into the bakery with every intention of getting a whole lot of pastries (they made a great quick snack for him and his housemates) when he sees Ven already inside.]

Hey, Ven. How're you? [He hasn't yet noticed the bummed look on the other's face.]

[It's okay! Friends are a good distraction, so he'll turn to face Leon with a sheepish smile.]

Well, I guess I'm okay. How 'bout you?

Not bad. Just looking for snacks to grab. [He walks closer, grinning at Ven a little before glancing at the pastries.] Sometimes it's easier to just get something here than stop whatever you're doing at home to cook, you know?

But there's always a big selection...

Well, I've still got a lot to learn when it comes to cooking, anyway.

[But he nods.]

There's a ton of stuff to choose from. Sometimes I don't even know where to start!

Yeah? Baking is the one that always seems to take a long time -- that's why it's easier to just grab something from the bakery. [He points at some of the cakes.] Like those? Almost an hour to just bake them, plus the extra time to frost 'em. I couldn't do that every time I want a slice of cake.

Cookies aren't so hard, but it does take time. I don't mind, though! It's a good way to pass the time when I'm bored.

I don't make a lot of cookies. Maybe if I knew something other than chocolate chip or something.

That's mostly what I make, so I wouldn't worry about it.

[Oh you're at the bakery too, Ven? Naoto happens to be there too! But really only because she can't decide what kind of sweets to make Roxas for Valentine's day. She's just getting a general idea shhhh.

It's a real good thing she can tell Roxas from Ven though, otherwise she would've turned bright red upon seeing the... depressed derp. Why does he look sad? Just going to approach you now] Ven-kun?

Huh?

[Give him a second. He's been a wee bit distracted.]

[Well this is definitely worrisome. Ven is normally upbeat and bubbly]

Is something wrong?

[No point in denying it. He nods.]

Minako's gone. I'm just kinda bummed about it.

[--Oh. She had no idea those two had been friends.]

I see. I'm terribly sorry, Ven-kun.

It's okay. I mean, this kinda stuff happens all the time in Luceti. It's just... sad. Next to Terra and Aqua, she was my best friend.

[He shakes his head.]

But, well, I'm sure I'll see her again someday, and I don't think she'd want me to be sad.

[That... just makes things worse. This place really is cruel to people. Taking away such close friends, making everyone suffer.

But now isn't the time to think like that. Ven is hurting enough as it is, she has to try and keep him thinking positive.]

That's right. She will return one day and she when she does, she'll want to be greeted with a smile.
