Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[After having missed the last New Feather party, Pilouette had been determined to come to the most recent one. People had been so nice to her when she arrived four months ago, so it would only be right to pay to forward, right?

As she mills about, she stops when the woman addresses her. She always gets the tiniest bit nervous when she's talking to adults, but she's gonna try her best to act like a mature adult ~~instead of the awkward teen she is.~~]

Oh! Yeah! The people who set it up really put a lot of work into it, huh?

[Hey, hey. Young woman. Mid-twenties isn't too intimidating, right?

Molly stops fiddling with her bracelet and smiles at the younger girl, looking at her eyes for the merest, politest second before focusing elsewhere on her face.]

It looks like it. I'm Molly.

[And she holds out a handshake of universal welcome?]

[But she's an adult, that makes her auto-cool, doesn't it? Pils accepts the handshake with a smile.]

Pilouette. Nice to meet you~!

Adjusting to this place okay so far?

Oh - as best as I can, I guess. [Molly withdraws her hand and smiles.]

Pilouette - is that French? Or are you from some other kind of world?

Y-Yeah! It is French! Uh, kinda.

But...I guess I'm kinda from another world? From what I've heard there can even be different versions of the same world, you know?

I heard that too. But you are from an Earth?

[She gives a nod.]

Yup! I'm guessing you are, too, huh?

[Hope you mind her staring at your hair, Molly. She finds it kind of fascinating.]

[Molly doesn't mind. She's kind of used to it.]

Yeah, I'm from Chicago - though I guess I should say I'm an American first, huh?

Oh! Oh, me, too! Well, kinda. I was born in France, but I was raised in the US. Key City, New York!

...You don't think maybe we're from the same Earth do you?

I don't know. I've never heard of "Key City," but... New York is a big state.

[She shrugged a little, but smiled encouragingly.]

Why don't you tell me a little bit more about your world and we'll see if we can figure it out?

Okay!

...Um...
[She takes a second to think about the worlds other people have described.]

I-I'm not sure where to start. No monsters. No one lives on other planets. Um, there's no magic or anything like that. What else...?

[No magic or monsters that you know of, anyway.

The spooky side of the street tries to keep that quiet on her world. Maybe it is the same?]

What year are you from?

[Ah, that's right. Pils had nearly forgotten about the different times thing.]

2010.

What about you?

2011. So... if we figure out a world event that happened in the same time and place in like, 2009, that might help us figure it out?

Oh! That's a great idea! I never would have thought of that! So!

...Um...what did happen in 2009...?

Um.

[It was the first time I felt someone die. Harry brought down the Raith conclave. I finally felt like I knew why I needed to do what I'm doing.]

I can't really remember off-hand. I think... the Yankees won the World Series?

[Daniel had been disappointed.]

Oh! Uh...D-Did they? I don't really know sports all that well...

[She gives an embarrassed giggle. She can't help but feel that her lack of paying attention to the news has ruined an otherwise brilliant idea.]

Then why don't you tell me a little bit more about what it's like where you live?

Um...Well, the tech is getting pretty...Techy. Touch screen junk is super in. Like that iWhatsit. Um...what else? Oh, uh, TV kind of sucks. I mean, some stuff is okay, but...eh.

[She starts playing with her hair as she thinks.]

Agh, everything back home seems really normal to me, so I'm really not sure what to talk about. Aw, golly, I'm sorry!

[Molly smiles.] That's okay. We can always assume we're from the same world, until we find out otherwise. It'll make this place seem a little less crazy, you know?

[Or maybe Molly just felt bad for the girl.]

Okay~! That's a great way to think about it! I starting to think no one from my world would show up here! ...Or maybe I should say "our world?"

Definitely. [Molly nods.]

So have you been waiting for someone from 'our world' for a long time?

Well...Sometimes I kinda wish someone from home would show up, but...I guess that's kinda selfish of me huh? I've only been here for four months or something. There are people who have been here a really long time and probably don't even think about stuff like that.

I don't know about that... I think I'd be a lot more freaked out if someone from my world wasn't here with me.

...Really?

Well, I guess you're right, but...I really shouldn't wish for anyone from home to be here. B-But knowing that there's someone from the same world here now does make me feel a little better!

[Even if she's not certain that it actually is the same world.]
