Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[ Ryoji heard all about New Feather welcome party, and he remembers having a really fun time at the one he attended a few days after he first arrived, too. So of course, even though he's super sleepy and nearly falls asleep several times on the way here, he's going to come to the party and say to as many new people as he can!

... or at least that's his intention.

What happens instead is that he winds up falling asleep in one of the chairs, cradling a half-finished drink and a there-quarters-eaten cookie for a while. Later he winds up falling asleep again leaning against the wall. And in fact, it wouldn't be surprising if he winds up nodding off a little standing up at some point.

Feel free to wake him up at any point! Or trip over him. Or draw on his face! He'd look good with a marker mustache, right? ]

Minato will be reversing roles for once and staying awake to watch another person sleep. So, if Ryoji is too unresponsive for your tastes, maybe the lineface guy standing nearby with a drink will be a better conversationalist.]

[A party made for mingling? Molly is so there.

Of course, it's a little weird to have a 'Welcome to Our Holding Facility' sort of gathering, but Molly figured that if she had been stuck in a place this long only to have new people arrive every two months or so, she'd probably want to throw a party every now and then too. At least it meant that the natives were friendly.

Either way, Molly will be hard to miss. At 5"11 with her hair dyed at the tips, even wearing a T-Shirt, jacket, and distressed jeans, she's all curves and vaguely regretting not having taken the time to do some Serious Shopping instead of just grabbing all the T-Shirts in her style that she'd seen in the past few days. She touches the leather bracelet with its small cross charm at her wrist a bit nervously before shooting a smile at whoever passes by.]

[After having missed the last New Feather party, Pilouette had been determined to come to the most recent one. People had been so nice to her when she arrived four months ago, so it would only be right to pay to forward, right?

As she mills about, she stops when the woman addresses her. She always gets the tiniest bit nervous when she's talking to adults, but she's gonna try her best to act like a mature adult instead of the awkward teen she is.]

Oh! Yeah! The people who set it up really put a lot of work into it, huh?

[Regardless of the weather, Rapunzel is absolutely thrilled to be attending a party. She's never been to one before, and the idea of just being able to walk around and talk to whoever she wants to and make friends is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

Her hair is done up in a massive braid to keep it off the ground, so you won't have to worry about tripping over it! Pascal is also riding atop her shoulder--he looks a little less thrilled to be here than she is, but Rapunzel is having a good time, and as long as that's true, he's content.

She will be trying all the foods and playing all the games, but really, she just wants to meet people and thus have a good time. If you don't approach her, she may very well approach you!]

[Minato is sitting at one of the game tables, idly rolling around the dice from a game of Yahtzee, in between rounds of talking to people and making sure Ryoji hasn't fallen asleep in someone's food again. It's an odd role-reversal.

This game really doesn't look all that fun with one person, though... maybe she should join in?]

[ Despite the drizzle outside, Relius found himself still drawn to the party by the foolish antics of a noble few. There was nothing noteworthy to discuss regarding either the food or activities, but Relius found himself rather intrigued by the many people that came. ]

Hm...

[ A thoughtful hum escaped the puppeteer as he watched the masses mingle amongst themselves. ]

How peculiar, why on earth would the captives here host an elaborate gathering such as this one? Oh, the irony of it all.

[ Keeping his eyes on the crowd from a relatively safe distance, Relius scoffed silently at all the tomfoolery already taking place. He wasn't terribly impressed with these individuals but at least they are entertaining. ]

[Unfortunately, keeping your eyes on the crowd makes it very hard to notice Cheagles. Mieu is out and about in the crowd, and he's not too far from Relius when he starts to talk to himself. Being naturally concerned about that, the unassuming animal walks closer and looks up at him. He only looks kind of scary, but then again, a lot of people in Luceti look scary to him.]

Well, I wasn't sure why I was here, but I was here, and hey, why not check out the local wildlife? I'd already met Luke Skywalker and somebody I was rapidly beginning to suspect was an X-man. Well, X-Woman. I guess.

It was very egalitarian of me. Murphy would be proud.

The point is, I was here for three purposes. One was to start networking, because networks are information and information was the key to making sure this place didn't completely screw Molly and I.

The second was just to generally be a sociable guy, and see if anybody had need of a freelance wizard- somehow I suspected it might get better reactions from people who knew Jedi than from the folks back home.

The third was because, as I was rapidly discovering, this place was duller than wet cardboard most days, and just about the only exciting thing to do was find new celebrities. I had to one-up King Arthur somehow, and I had no idea how to go about it. So I hovered, I mingled, and I kept an eye out.

[Taking a break from her mingling, Molly will approach Harry, warm cup of tea in hand.]

[Oh my... there's a lot of people here, aren't there? Fluttershy had decided to go to the party to try and meet some more people, maybe get a better idea of what humans are like, but now that she's here, it's a little unnerving.

Thus, the party will have a little yellow pony hiding away in the corner and watching the visitors, trying not to look as nervous as she feels. And in an occasional burst of bravery, she might even approach someone! ...If they look nice and harmless and not into squirrel-punching.]

[For a long moment Rapunzel just...stares at the pony. She has absolutely never seen anything like her before in her life. To a normal person, it might seem strange to see a winged pony inside attending a party, but Rapunzel's friends include a chameleon and a stallion, so. She barely bats an eye.

The pony does look a bit nervous, though. So Rapunzel's just going to waltz right over and peer at her with a huuuuuge grin.]

Hello! You looked a bit lonely over here by yourself, so I came to keep you company!

[So, Precis missed the last party, so she added it to her calendar to definitely attend this one. Aside from her small birthday party, she had never been to a party before. It was exciting! And people didn't think she was weird here, which was even better. ...Well, aside from the yaoi incident, at least.

But now that she's at the party, she's a bit nervous. She'll be sticking close to the refreshments. She has her robot Robbie right at her side, and she's actually cleaned her face for once. No grease!

She might not approach you, but Robbie might bump into you. Or she can be approached! She doesn't look too intimidating, she left her weapons at home.]

[Well, Ilia's not looking to actively start up any conversations (it's more of having a look at how things are done here— parties are somewhere in there too, surely) so it's the robot that gains her attention instead. Even if it's not even bumping into her yet.

...is that an actual robot? In a place like this?

[Parties aren't entirely Yukio's thing, but there isn't any loud pounding music or anything ridiculous here. Just talking and drinking, nothing he isn't already familiar with from spending time with his class back home after missions. This he can manage.

Taking a seat in a nice comfy chair with a cup of tea, quietly watching the party go on around him. He isn't against getting into conversations with other people though, so he does go out of his way to talk with a few people here and there but nothing too exciting to draw attention to him. This one is mixing in with the crowds like pro.

Despite just wanting to blend in it might have done him well to have left the whole True Cross get up at home. But nope, he's here in his nice long coat and utility belt full of medicine and ammo. Total party wear, right?]

[Feeling secure enough - people, public, Harry, Molly gives a low whistle at the sight of that belt.]

I didn't know this was that kind of party.

[She takes a sip of her drink, the charm on her bracelet glinting in the light with the motion.] Nice coat.

[Rydia is there early and why not? A cozy gathering at the center sounds like fun. She'll be sure to help as much as she can, setting out refreshments and replenishing them as need be. That's not all she's doing, though; she'll readily mingle with any newcomers, ready to answer their questions and do her best to make the more reserved ones feel at home.

Whenever one passes, she'll nod to them and smile warmly.]

[Well, it's been a few days now that Perona's been stuck here. In that time she's done a number of important things: found her clothes, got a few new ones, whined loudly, and had her hollows scout the area for a few hours. The good thing she learned is that that Long-Nose straw hat member isn't here, but a majority of the others are. That and not one, but two commanders of Whitebeard's crew. ....Who are friends of the Straw Hats, bleh.

Whatever, she doesn't care. They're all unworthy of her time anyway. Right now, she's off in a corner with a drink and a piece of cake, reading through the Guide. She hadn't had a chance to, other important things came up, like finding a nice, shady, dreary castle to call home. Which this place DID NOT HAVE. Hufhuff, how do these scientists expect her to live?! In shambles?! Surely not.

But yes, there is a cute goth girl sitting all by her lonesome at the party, reading. She doesn't mind it, but a bit of company would be nice. Allies, and all that. Just don't mind the one of two smiling, giggling ghosts that may waft around her. They're harmless...unless you touch them.]

[Parties aren't particularly Jin's thing, but he figures it might be a good idea to check it out, get a feel for who is else around and given the nature of this world, he really is curious to see who or what else has shown up.

He'll spend some time walking around and more time in a comfy seat with a hot cup of tea watching the happenings around him.]

[Aqua likes meeting new people, but she's still a reserved person, so after a while she needs a breather. after grabbing herself some tea as well, she heads over to a quieter corner, smiling politely at its current occupant]

[ Two days isn't a very long time to be in Luceti and on top of the weather, Souji's still pretty miserable. To say that he was slowly getting used to it would be a lie.

Though he stumbles upon the New Feather party entirely by accident, and figures that it wouldn't hurt to stick around for a little bit to see what kind of people he's going to be dealing with later. He'll nibble at the food and drink for now (what are these strange concoctions he does not know) and just watch the crowd for now.

And he's still armed. because you never know!!! ]

However this time around he'll be walking up to people to offer them a delicious homemade gogosi! Freshly baked just for the occasion. You can always badger him for one too it's not as if he'd ever say no! But he'll simply come up to you and offer nicely with a smile. ] Would you like one?

[ And later on he might be making light shows out of all things summer related. Flowers, birds, things like that just to get rid of the gloom of the afternoon rain. Catch him during either thing. ]

[Rue is in awe at Helios' light show. She heard about magic in the guide book and from what people said, but this is the first time she's ever seen anything of the sort. Her eyes are fixated on a brilliantly orange butterfly landing on a daisy and she reaches out to touch it before it fades.]

[Rainy days aren't enough to keep Florian from exploring the village, and it's exploring that eventually leads him to this party. He's tempted inside by the food, but now that he's here--there's quite a lot of people here, aren't there?

As such, he's hiding under the refreshment table, peeking out at the festivities, occasionally crawling out to grab more snacks.

Despite the hiding, he looks like he's rather enjoying himself down there.]

[In an effort to be more social, Pilouette has decided to come to the party and greet some of the New Feathers. Walking about, she takes out a pair of empty glasses frames and puts them on. However while she's doing this she's kind of looking at the floor instead of where she's going and kind of walks right into him.]

[Rue really didn't know much about parties. They had little gatherings for birthdays or bigger things for the Victory Tour, but it wasn't anything like the New Feather party. People mingling, decorations and food for all. She imagined this was what a capitol dinner was like.

Even if it was raining, even if there was some hesitance in going, so Rue appeared. It was a good place to find allies and all the food was too good to resist too. Feel free to catch her hovering around the food table, eyes wide at all the food, or watching quietly from a corner or against the wall.]

[She had decided not to go to the party when Rydia had told her about it. But Rue had seemed so determined to go. Short expeditions in to the town are one thing. The idea of the girl being surrounded by strangers at a gathering for an indeterminate amount of time... that's another matter entirely. She trusts Rue.

It was everyone else in the room she doesn't trust.

As much as she doesn't want to mingle, only observe, she can't help but be drawn to the table of food. It's like what she remembers from the party in the Capitol. Maybe not as vast - how could anything be as vast and wasteful as the Capitol? - but there's still plenty. And she can't help it. She wants to try everything.

Effie would probably be aghast if she saw her now, using one of the two knives she has on her person to stab unrecognizable chunks of food on her plate, always making sure just to take a tiny bit so she'd have room for everything.]

[Aqua was getting herself a cup of tea, but now she finds herself watching curiously.]

Are you saving room for dessert? [it's meant to sate her curiosity as much as start conversation, and there's definitely a hint of amusement in her tone and smile]

[Varric is so ready to mingle. He's tried some of the food and drinks but is now doing one of the things he does best: people-watching. At the moment, he's lounging in a chair, looking very relaxed for a guy who's got a crossbow on his person, with a little smile on his face.

[Sally, who has no idea how to approach ghosts, magic users, talking animals, or minors in a non-official capacity, is starting to wonder why she even came. Of course, it is an entertaining view, so it's not a total bust even if she doesn't know what she's doing.

[ Mostly confused, Shingo didn't see the harm in attending this party. He was, what they called, a new feather after all. It had only been a few days since his arrival, but he had already seen more kinds of people than even the tournaments attracted, and this excited him greatly. But first, food.

He made his way to the snack table, all ready over looking all his choices. So many different things to try...he'd just have to try them all! But...he didn't know what they all were... ]

Oh well! Gotta be brave! [ He said, kind of loudly, before grabbing what looked like crackers and cheese and swallowing them whole. Not bad, really. He looked around. No one he could recognize, outside of a few he had met on his first day here...And no one from his world, damn...

Oh! But there was someone who was alone! A young lady, not too far from where he was standing. Maybe she's lonely? ]

[Kouki try to make an effort to attend the New Feathers parties. So after putting away his umbrella and dry himself off a bit, he went inside to socialise and have fun.

People, old and new, will see a young man with the most interesting headphones on his head. Maybe he's getting food or drinks, or walking around with said food and/or drinks.]

[Those are quite interesting indeed! It's something Ariel's never seen before, and it's enough to draw her over while he's getting some food.

Kouki might find Ariel reaching up to touch those headphones, or maybe even slide them off to get a better look at them. Are they... ears?]

[ Getting a look in at his fellow New Feathers, a chance to get familiar with longer-term residents who prefer to be involved in settling people, and a convenient chance for something to do.

This was not an opportunity Lestrade was about to pass over. He's casually strolling around with a drink in hand, not bothering to be discreet about the fact that he's watching folks go about their business. It's a bit more insulting trying to act like he's not, from what he's heard in the past. And really, that's about all he's up to. Watching and offering up polite "hello"s to people he bumps into or thinks look really interesting or. Potentially dangerous. You just never know. :| ]

['sup, bro. Molly's watching you watch everyone else while laughingly talking with someone else, and so she decides to approach. She's not at all casual about it either, just saunters on over with a wide smile, all 5"11 inches of her.]

You look thirsty. Why don't you make your way over to the punch bowl and have yourself a drink?

Oh wait. You can't. Because the moment you approach the table, a bright pink mane of hair pops up from the bowl, quickly followed by the rest of an equally-pink head. The pony looks around, blinking confusedly, before bringing her head back down to sample the punch. She snorts, giving a frustrated huff.]

Hey! This isn't chocolate!

[Okay. Gordo's realized there a lot of different people in Luceti. Apparently this includes talking ponies with pink fur and manes. Okay.

But he really wonders why she's so shocked the punch isn't chocolate.]

[As Ginia was off and unavailable for the New Feather Gathering, Adele is here to support Helios in his self appointed duties of host in her stead. Setting up tables before hand, passing around baked goods or offering beverages, or just wandering. Looking at all these new faces, some hopeful, some frightened, some confused and trying not to let that old, simmering anger flare up again. Nothing to be done for it. Let it go.

Later on in the evening, though, it may get the better of her enough that she'll find somewhere quiet to sit and enjoy a single glass of bourbon. She won't be surly or adverse to company, just quieter. More reserved.]

[Ariel's not exactly the newest person here, but she thought she'd attend one anyway. She still feels new. And now she's prepared, what with her flashcards and very basic learning of sign language. Plus, there's always her notebook and her own expressions, the latter being much more preferable than all the others.

She's looking at all the faces, new and old. And when she sees Adele, recognizing her from the little picture in her book as they swapped tales of sibling harassment, Ariel gives a big smile and heads over. Though now that she's getting closer, does Adele seem a little... down?

Well, that won't stop Ariel, though her smile does fade to a softer one. Heeey!]

[Where there's a party, Grell is so there. It doesn't matter that she's not really a new New Feather. This is her first time here as far as she's concerned and coming here, seeing New and Old faces, she's hoping it'll jog some important memories. So here she is, folks, ready and willing to charm any handsome men and talk the girly talk with the women! Never mind that she's about 6'1 in her heels and wearing a fitted red and black dress rather than what some would assume should be more appropriate masculine attire considering her body. She doesn't care and she's going to be working this room.]
