Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[Whoa. That's. A lot of hair. Even if it's done up in a braid, it's still a very thick one, and Groose is impressed. Also she's very pretty.]

Hey there.

[He smiles at her in a weird, flirtatious kind of way, somewhat like Flynn did in the movie when he first met her.]

I haven't seen you around here before.

[That's because he hasn't seen much of anyone. He's new. Durr.]

Hello! [She grins right back at him, totally UNFAZED by his smolder. It went over her head with Flynn, and yep, it's going over her head now.

But! He seems very friendly. And Rapunzel is here to make friends!]

I haven't seen you around, either! [What a coincidence!] I'm pretty new, though. I'm Rapunzel! What's your name?

[Oh he's happy that she's being nice to her.]

I'm Groose! I'm also pretty new myself.

[A fellow newbie! Well, that does make sense at a New Feather party. Still.]

Well! It's nice to meet you, Groose. When did you get here, then? I got here...thirteen days ago!

[But who's counting.]

[Ha ha Groose hasn't been counting ~~because the mun hasn't~~.]

I uh... I've been here... Probably for that same amount of time? Maybe?

I got caught in this weird tornado and ended up here.

A tornado? [That sounds incredible! Strange! Dangerous!

...But there is one thing she has to ask.]

Um...what is a tornado?

[Oh oh oh oh. Groose gets to show off his massive intellect by explaining things to pretty girls THIS IS A GOOD THING...]

Ha! That's a good question, Rapunzel!

So, a tornado is like this big funnel of winds that go really, really fast!

[He tries to make gestures and shapes with his hands to demonstrate.]

I was flying on my Loftwing when the tornado came, with its really strong winds and hurled me all through the air!

[A Loftwing? Gosh, so many things she doesn't know! She will fix this.]

Well! I'm glad you're alright. That sounds a biiit dangerous. What's a Loftwing? Does it take you very high in the air?

[She is so enthralled right now, okay.]

[Oh right there are people not from the sky. Groose has to remember this. But still he feels VERY SMART having to explain these things to such a gorgeous woman.]

Yeah, I'm fine! Ole Groose can take anything.

Oh, a Loftwing is like a giant bird that you ride around. And we go really, really high up, beyond the clouds!

[Groose lifts a hand in the air to demonstrate just how "high" this is.]

Wow--that sounds amazing! I've always wondered what it would be like to fly...

[Well, she's always wondered what it would be like to do a lot of things, really.]

Sometimes people's pets show up here with them. Like Pascal here! [She gestures to the green chameleon on her shoulder. He doesn't look very impressed with Groose himself.] So maybe you'll find your Loftwing, too.

[Groose's eyes light up when Rapunzel mentions the possibility of him getting his Loftwing.]

Really?!

Oh man, I miss my Loftwing. ~~Even though he doesn't have a name.~~

I think these wings that I have, though, look a lot like those of my Loftwing.

[Groose gives a weird look to Pascal briefly, but then turns back to Rapunzel with a much brighter look.]

[Pascal has got his eye on you, guy.

But Rapunzel is too affixed by how neat a Loftwing sounds to pay much attention to that.]

Mine are just light blue--like my paint! [She lifts up her hair to show him. She REALLY likes the wings.] I think everybody's wings are beautiful. Buuut I know not everyone feels that way.

[Groose takes a look at Rapunzel's feathery wings. They look like everyone else's wings, but they're still interesting. And blue. Yes. But he grins at her.]

Your wings are beautiful, like you.

And hey, I like my wings! I just wish they did something.

[Oh, what a nice compliment! Which may have been flirting. But flirting sort of flies right over her head. So she just gives him an appreciate smile.]

Oh, thank you! Yours are beautiful like you, too. [There is nothing strange about this comment.]

It would be nice if we could fly with them, though. That'd be amazing!

[Groose is slightly weirded out by this compliment for maybe a split second, but then he smiles back at her, realizing that she was probably just being nice. But still. That's no way to flirt with someone.]

Ha ha, thanks, I guess!

Yeah, I'd love to fly! Man, up in Skyloft, it's pretty easy to accidentally fall off the edge, so the wings would come in handy there.

[...And then she looks momentarily petrified.]

You could just...fall of the edge? Has that ever happened?

[Yeah it probably happened to Groose multiple times, HOWEVER...]

Ha, just a couple times to me. But no worries, there's a flight squad ready to catch you if you fall off.

Well, that's good to know! [Safety is very important, you know.] But if someone didn't catch them...would they just keep falling forever and ever?

...And ever?

Uh... Well, uh, I've never had to think about that, because the Squad is always there.

[Crap that is a scary thought.]

I mean, I guess they wouldn't fall forever... There is a surface world.

[But they'd go splat when they hit the bottom, wouldn't they?

...no, that isn't very pleasant to think about at all.]

...What's down there? Anything?

Yeah!

[His eyes light up again as he begins to describe the surface world and how different it is.]

It's like... there's way more space than up in the sky, and the birds are really small.

[Again, he accentuates his descriptions with hand gestures.]

And there's this lady-- er... Well, there was this old lady who lived in this temple, and she was pretty cool I guess.

[Gasp, small birds--! No, wait, that's completely normal. At least, Rapunzel thinks so. But she doesn't know much about what's normal.]

A temple...that's sort of like a castle, isn't it? I've been to one of those! Or--near it. I didn't actually get to go inside.

Uh... Yeah, kinda, I guess?

I mean, I think castles are supposed to be much bigger. I never seen one myself, just read 'bout them. This temple was pretty small.

[He wasn't even sure if castles were supposed to be real. He thought they were just in fairy tales, but he says nothing about that.]

[Rapunzel nods. Having seen one castle in her life, she is of course an expert.]

Castles are big. With huge walls and high towers and bustling cities around them! I finally got to go see the city--and it was amazing.

Yeah? So what was that like? The city, I mean?

[Groose wouldn't normally be quite so interested, but if all that time of failing with pursuing Zelda has taught him anything, it's that he has to be nice and at least pretend to be interested. But he is genuinely interested, seeing as he doesn't know about castles or cities or anything.]
