Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[She counters that sigh with a reassuring smile.]

Well, I'm sure there are people like me, who need to go home and thus are looking for someone to be paired with. If I find out anything on that front, I'll let you know.

I appreciate that. I do not believe I say this enough, but you are a good friend, Rydia.

[She blushes a bit at that, pleased.]

You don't, but you're making up for it now just by being here. And if you stop in to visit more often, I won't say no to that, either.

I'll endeavor to keep that in mind. Certainly my schedule is not so full as to make such visits difficult.

Taking the subject back a little bit, who have you decided to show our world to?

Link -one of the Links- actually asked if he could go with me, so I'm taking him. I think he'll like Mist and the Feymarch. We'll make time for the Sylph Cave, too, if we can. It might be a rushed tour, but we have to make the most of that day.

It sounds as if you have things well thought out. Link, though... I may know the young man, though neither of us were quite ourselves when we met. You recall the experiment where we were all lead to believe we'd lived in Luceti our whole lives?

[She chuckles softly.]

Oh, yes. I remember that one well enough. So bizarre, but...not horrible, all things considered. We've had far worse experiments.

Quite so. Though I'm still not sure what to think of the idea of Yuber and Kain as my sons. [It's a bit easier to laugh at the idea with Yuber safely gone, though.]

I encountered a man named Link in the tournament during that experiment. He was quite skilled with a blade, and dressed all in green... but unless I'm mistaken, neither of those traits help in distinguishing them, do they?

[Rydia shakes her head, always a little amused at the Link-horde in Luceti.]

No, not really. He is the oldest one, though. All of the others I've met seem far younger.

It's too bad this trip can't go both ways, though. I wouldn't mind visiting his world in turn.

Perhaps there will be a follow-up experiment in time. Certainly if this one works as they hope it will, something like that seems likely.

["If". That one little word bothers him so much, sometimes. Especially in a situation like this. He hasn't forgotten the last time the Malnosso offered them something like this, and he doesn't believe she has either.]

I hope so. I know there's potential for these things to go wrong, but...I can't let that stop me from trying to visit. What would the Eidolons say if I let my fears get in the way of seeing them?

I agree. Some risks need to be taken.

This does not stop me from worrying over you.

[Rydia nods, not about to tell him to stop. She knows better.]

I'll be worrying about you, too, and everyone who goes. So you better speak up as soon as you get back, alright? I'll do the same.

That sounds only fair. I will remember.

Assuming, of course, that I do find someone to go with.

[She rests a hand on his arm, giving a gentle squeeze.]

You will. I'm sure there are more people who want to go home than just me, and not everyone is going to find someone to go with them. Just ask around and you'll see.

Yes, that would be wise. Perhaps a message over the journals...

Or maybe there's someone here who's looking for a partner. [His eyes sweep the room.]

[At that, she grins.]

Then, I shouldn't keep you. Go, mingle. And let me know what turns up.

I shall. And I leave you to make sure your guests are well taken care of. Certainly I've monopolized you long enough. [He chuckles and nods.] Til later, then. Enjoy yourself.
