Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[Parties aren't entirely Yukio's thing, but there isn't any loud pounding music or anything ridiculous here. Just talking and drinking, nothing he isn't already familiar with from spending time with his class back home after missions. This he can manage.

Taking a seat in a nice comfy chair with a cup of tea, quietly watching the party go on around him. He isn't against getting into conversations with other people though, so he does go out of his way to talk with a few people here and there but nothing too exciting to draw attention to him. This one is mixing in with the crowds like pro.

Despite just wanting to blend in it might have done him well to have left the whole True Cross get up at home. But nope, he's here in his nice long coat and utility belt full of medicine and ammo. Total party wear, right?]

[Feeling secure enough - people, public, Harry, Molly gives a low whistle at the sight of that belt.]

I didn't know this was that kind of party.

[She takes a sip of her drink, the charm on her bracelet glinting in the light with the motion.] Nice coat.

((OOC: Do me a solid and let me know if there's something Molly should be sensing off of Yukio regarding being around a lot of death or spiritual things? Or the shortcut here? Thanks!))

What kind of party? As far as I know this was meant to be a welcome party for those new to the village.

[Dusting off his coat with one hand whilst taking a quick sip of his tea with another.] Thank you, it's the standard uniform for me back home. Similarly, that's a very nice bracelet you have.

Oh. [Molly's hand goes to touch the small charm.] But this isn't part of any uniform. [It's awkwardly... vulnerable to have that exposed.] What kind of uniform is it? I've never seen one like it before.

Even so it still looks like an interesting piece.

[Not that he knows anything about jewelery, he's just being nice.]

It's typically worn by those of the intermediate class at True Cross Academy back in my world. Most teachers also choose to wear a coat and clothing like this.

[Molly blinks a bit as she processes all that.]

Wow, that must be some school. What do they teach you there?

[Besides. You know. How to fashionably carry bullets.]

There were many different classes but all of them were geared towards helping students learn how to cope with and exorcise demons.

[Ahahahahahaha. Wow.]

That must be - some killer homework.

[She is frantically wondering what her dad would say to this and how much she can say and not say - she and Harry really need to have a talk about that.]

In my world, not a lot of people believe in demons anymore. But I guess they're a pretty big problem in yours?

Only if you don't study and fail to pay attention, if you put your mind to it the homework is only as hard as you make it.

[Though this is coming from mr.fifteen year old genius so...]

Big enough that a school was formed to help train people to exorcise them, yes. I've heard a lot of people here don't believe in or don't even have demons in their own worlds.

[Missing out the part about the Impure King and certain other demons when there's no real need to bring it up.]

Wow, that's... pretty intense. What did they do? How could you fight them?

There are a number of different ways to combat demons, from more traditional holy water to using firearms and swords. Each exorcist has their own way to go about it really.

[Taking another sip of tea here between explanations.]

As for what demons do that depends on the demon. There are many different kinds with their own ways of going about causing chaos, so you would just have to adjust to handle each demon.

[It is unbelievable to her that she could be having a random and casual conversation with a stranger about this. Let's ground it in something solid while she gets her bearings.]

And your choice is bullets?

[It a little strange to be having this sort of conversation with someone completely out of the blue, but it's not like he's had a conversation like this since he was brought here. It's almost refreshing.]

That's correct, but with this belt on I imagine that was a dead give-away.

A little bit. Although I'm kind of surprised that regular bullets would be able to hurt demons.

[They can slow them down in Molly's world, but... not stop them.]

There's a wide range of bullets out there, to standard, silver, demon repelling. Even plant nutrients can be used in bullets if need be.

[Basically if you can use it to stop a demon you can probably find a bullet form of it.]

I see. And - you have all those kinds of bullets with you here? Are you worried about the demons from your world following you here, or something?

Oh - no. The ammunition with me now is mostly standard issue for my pistols. Whilst my belt made it here none of my supplies seemed to come with it.

[He hadn't even thought about demons from home showing up so he stops to give this some thought for a moment.] Not quite, new people and creatures seem to show up here in cycles and so far I've seen no demons I recognise. I shouldn't be worried until the next one. I guess I'm just carrying the around with me for security's sake.

Well, that's good to hear. It's bad enough to be dropped in another world without the evils of all our worlds following us.

[She smiles.]

I'm Molly, by the way. Molly Carpenter.

True. I'm sure things would be much worse off here if every bad thing just followed everyone along.

[He smiles in return, bowing his head a little.]

It's very nice to meet you Molly. Forgive me for not introducing myself sooner, I'm Yukio Okumura.

[That name's gotta be--]

Nice to meet you too - Yukio? Your name's Japanese, isn't it?

It is, I was born and brought up in Japan. The best I can do with your name is say it's of western origins but that's all I can do.

[Nope, got it down in one.]

I'm American.

[She shrugged a little.]

But it's probably not your American.

[Not 'his' American? Strange.]

So you're from an America I'm not familiar with then. I'm guessing you're from another world that's similar to mine only different, if that makes sense.

It seems like there are a lot of parallel earths here.

[And. It's freaking awesome.]

'Parallel earths' and different earths altogether it seems. Even completely new worlds and universes I had no idea ever existed.

[Maybe not awesome, but it is sort of interesting!]
