Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

Yeah... even though some weird an' nasty stuff happens now an' then, it ain't too bad. There's some real great people 'round here, people who'll look out for ya an' help ya out when y'need it.

[He brightens a little more after a beat.] Name's Mac.

[Mac seems like Groose's kind of guy. Tough-looking, but not too tough. He's also pretty nice.]

Where you from, Mac?

Groose... [Did he say- - wait, no, there's an 'r' in there. Passing his plate of food into his left hand, he offers his right in a firm handshake.]

Nice t'meetchya, man.

[He hesitates briefly at the question, aware that so many in Luceti were not from his own world.]

Uh... ain't sure if y'from someplace on Earth, but that's where I'm at.

[Earth? Nope he had never heard of it. Then again does the land of Zelda even have a concept of planets?]

Earth? What, is that some kind of land on the surface or somethin'?

Thing is, I could probably go on forever 'cause it seems y'ain't ever heard of it. What's your place like?

Uhh, I'm from this place up in the sky, called Skyloft. There's a surface world down below, with a forest and stuff.

Skyloft, huh...? Whoa.

[An awed, thoughtful silence.]

What's that like, livin' in the sky? Is it hard t'breathe? Do birds ever fly into y'face? [He laughs a little at the latter question.]

Except that one time Link's Loftwing pecked my face.

No, we ride the birds around! It's pretty awesome.

And why would it be hard to breathe? [He chuckles at this last part. He has no idea that air is thinner up in the sky.]

Sure sounds awesome t'me. [A bit like being on a roller-coaster, he supposes, but feeling even more liberated.] Geez, these birds must be pretty massive...

[He surfaces from his thoughts, scratching his head at the question.]

Oh... well, that's kind a' how it is. People's always sayin' there's less air the higher y'go from the ground. But maybe you's jus' used to it 'cause that's where you been livin' all y'life... right?

Well I mean, they're pretty big, but that's what I'm used to, you know? When I saw the tiny birds on the surface I thought those were the abnormal ones at first.

[As for the thing about breathing air...]

Huh? I never heard that. Man that doesn't make much sense...

[He scratches his head, trying to think of why the air would be thinner.]

I never noticed much of a difference between Skyloft and the surface. Huh.

Oh. Guess y'planet's jus' a whole lot diff'rent from mine.

[After a moment's thought, the boxer tilts his head and lifts a shoulder in a goodnatured half-shrug.]

...Didjya have anythin' t'eat 'round here? They always got some real good stuff at these parties.

Hah! Of course I did. I had some delicious cupcakes.

I can't say no to free food!

[He helps himself to a bite of the ham and cheese sandwich on his plate, shamelessly speaking with his mouth full. It's a marvel he hasn't choked this way yet.]

Heh, sometimes feels like there's a party every other week 'round here. It's nice, though. Keeps y'together an' feelin' okay.

There'll be another one a' these big parties in a couple months or somethin'. 'til then, there's gonna be birthday parties an' this an' that... there's always some chance t'meet up an' hang out.

[A chuckle.]

An' yeah, t'eat good stuff too. [He then glances about himself thoughtfully, a few bread crumbs on his chin.]

Ain't easy settin' all this up, m'sure.
