Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[Oh, she's impressed, all right. In more ways than one.

Like for starters, how she got those parts! Ilia's been poking through the shops for some and Luceti (quite unsurprisingly) has nothing in terms of weapon parts.

Laser cannons included. But wait, could this be like how clothes show up here? It seemed a little off...]

I suppose it would. [Maybe. Maybe not.] Did you make him here?

Nope! You're new, right? I mean, since it's the party and all...he's my most prized possession, so I guess he showed up here, too.

[She doesn't know what Ilia is thinking. She also finds small parts, like nuts and bolts and iron sometimes. She has to craft most of it herself, though. With real tools!]

Luceti's climate is kinda weird, though, so I'm always doing adjustments.

[But the body and the hinges and the growing aren't materials that can be easily made! ...especially by someone who keeps failing at Customization due to a non-learnable Originality talent.

Her expression relaxes, though. So he wasn't Malnosso tech...or so she claimed.]

Oh, I see. I thought you did and... [She offers a sheepish smile here.] ...that was quite a silly jump on logic on my end.

Your optimisations seem to be working out, though. That was pretty impressive.

[Precis just watches Ilia. What a weird woman. She doesn't get it at all.

...oh but now she's being praised.]

What silly jump of logic? Robbie's 100% original. No one could've made him but me, you know? All it takes is a lot of hard work and the special something only I've got.

[Phew.]

Talent?

Nah, it's more like...being one-of-a-kind! It's 100% Precis, you know? Creativity!

I'd suppose that's one thing that only you can have. I'm very impressed.

Is he your only project at the moment?

Oh, you are? [Um. Wow.] Yeah, that's a pretty normal reaction. Robbie sure draws you right in, doesn't he?

[She's still getting used to people thinking robots are kind of cool!]

Actually, I'm working on one other thing. It's something I did back home that I thought might be fun in Luceti. I'm building an elevator.

["Draws her in" he sure does. In a place full of normal basic stuff, any science is like a breath of fresh hair.

Wonder what happens when Ilia meets Tony Stark...will you still be interesting, Precis?]

For a community building?

[Oh, she definitely will be. Tony Stark can't even handle her!]

Nah, just for my room. I had one in my old house, so I figured why not?

[But is it because of those BL comics...]

Why not indeed? That sounds like a very large room, though.

It connects to the storage room upstairs. That way, I can move heavy objects in and out of the house easily. Cool, huh?

[And oddly convenient, even if it's only for a house and not, say, a multistorey building. Robotics has never been Ilia's speciality, but she sure can admire some handiwork even without knowing too much about the mechanics.]

How much weight do you think it'll be able to take?

The metals I've been crafting are surprisingly high quality for just picking them out of a store, you know? So it'll be pretty sturdy. Definitely capable of two people, or one person and stuff. I'm guessing around 700 pounds, though. The project's going pretty slowly, though.

I'm not surprised, if you're the only one working on it. A whole elevator usually needs other machinery or people to build it...especially if it's that heavy. It'd be hard to make any fast progress.

Yeah, I have to pretty much fashion all of the parts myself, which is a ton of work. Every other day or so, I find something useful like cables, but it's still rough.

[She's quiet for a moment and looking at the rain that's coming down. All this technology in a place like this (that's frankly looking as backwater as it is)]

Say, Precis, would you mind if I had a look at what you've done so far? I promise I won't touch anything.

You really wanna see it?

[That sounds like a lot of fun, but Precis has to stop and think about it for a second.]

Why? It's just an elevator.

After all that earnestness to talk about her inventions, this hesitation is...pretty weird.]

I dunno, when someone says "I'm not going to touch anything", it's kinda shady. Besides, it's kind of top secret...

I'll make an exception just this once, since you really appreciate machines.

I needed to cover all bases. [But you know what? She'll give Precis a wink as well.] It'll be our secret.

Wanna come over to my place tomorrow and check it out, then? Or I can come get you, whatever works.

I can come over. I think I need to get used to the layout of this place a bit anyway...it'd do me good to do some more exploring.

Oh, man, I can't wait, then. [Still a bit nervous, though.] Just stop by house 59 once the rain clears, 'kay? Or not, we're pretty far out there, so just bring an umbrella.
