Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[Groose was here, oh yes. He heard there was a party and he wanted to partake in said events.

Care to approach him?]

[In an effort to be more social, Pilouette has decided to come to the party and greet some of the New Feathers. Walking about, she takes out a pair of empty glasses frames and puts them on. However while she's doing this she's kind of looking at the floor instead of where she's going and kind of walks right into him.]

Waugh! Oops! Um, like, I'm sorry~!

Whoa!

[Groose turns to see who bumped into him.]

Hey, watch it, all right?

[She gives a sheepish little grin.]

Right, right! I'm totally sorry! I like so wasn't watching where I was going!

[Suddenly, she realizes that she doesn't recognize this person and puts two and two together.]

Oh! You're a New Feather, huh?

[Oh. Groose looks at her and realizes she's kinda pretty.]

Yeah, yeah, it's fine, no worries.

And yeah, I'm new! My name's Groose.

Nice to meet you. I'm Pilouette.

[She gives him a polite nod.]

Doing okay so far? This place can take a little getting used to n' stuff.

Yeah I'm all right.

[He grins sheepishly.]

Just wondering why I have these wings, though.

[She sighs a little and shrugs.]

Beats me. Why those creepy scientists decided we needed wings is anyone's guess! They could have at least not made these dumb things so...sensitive. Even bumping them a little bit hurts like, super bad...!

Yeah, I tried plucking a feather just to see what would happen, and it's like getting your hair pulled!

Man, it's not even like we can fly with these things either.

Omigosh, like, I know, right?! It totally sucks!

And they even put holes in my favorite shirt so it'd fit with these stupid things! Not only are these scientists total creepos, but it's like, hello? Inconsiderate much?

[Because this is clearly the worst thing about the whole situation.]

Yeah! I didn't want to cut up my favorite shirt either! Aw man I spent the first day walking around shirtless, though.

[He hopes. HE HOPES that this intrigues this pretty girl here.]

[Unfortunately, this girl is pretty oblivious to subtly.]

Don't worry too much about that! I think most of the guys who show up here do. And at least you showed up when it was getting warmer. When I got here they dumped me in the snow. Blegh. I thought I was gonna like, freeze to death!

[It's okay, Groose doesn't mind too much.]

Yeah? Well, half those guys probably didn't look too good without a shirt like I did, ha ha!

[Groose chuckles at his own ego.]

Nah, I'm just kidding.

[Sort of.]

But man, that's too bad you were dumped in the snow!

We don't get too much snow where I'm from, but man it can get cold!

[Mac baby can never say no to gatherings open to all, for he enjoys opportunities to socialize... and the variety of foods laid out at said gatherings as well, of course.

As he glances up from his plate which he is carrying to a table, he catches sight of a fellow with an interesting hair-do and wonders whether or not he is a new arrival. Pausing, he offers a genuine, goodnatured smile.

Hey... y'one a' them new feathers?

[Oh hey it's some guy Groose has never met. He offers the shorter man a haughty smile as he turns to talk to him.]

Yep, I'm new here. Just got here a couple days ago. What about you?

Yeah? I been here since... iunno, last September, I think? Don' 'member. It's been a while; got it written down somewhere. [Sniffing, he rubs at his noise with the back of one hand, careless of his manners.]

Y'doin' awright?

Ha ha, I'm fine!

[He grins proudly.]

I can handle anything. This is nothing.

Good...! Well that's a good attitude t'have... I guess. I mean, a lot a' people freak out when they c'mere 'cause stuff don' make a whole lot a' sense, y'know?

[It's okay, Mac, Groose's freak-out is probably just delayed a bit. He's still processing everything.]

Ha, not me! I got it all covered. It's a pretty nice place, anyway.

[The little guy doesn't question doubt Groose's cool confidence and composure for a second.]

Yeah... even though some weird an' nasty stuff happens now an' then, it ain't too bad. There's some real great people 'round here, people who'll look out for ya an' help ya out when y'need it.

[He brightens a little more after a beat.] Name's Mac.

[Mac seems like Groose's kind of guy. Tough-looking, but not too tough. He's also pretty nice.]

I'm Groose!

Where you from, Mac?

Groose... [Did he say- - wait, no, there's an 'r' in there. Passing his plate of food into his left hand, he offers his right in a firm handshake.]

Nice t'meetchya, man.

[He hesitates briefly at the question, aware that so many in Luceti were not from his own world.]

Uh... ain't sure if y'from someplace on Earth, but that's where I'm at.

[Earth? Nope he had never heard of it. ~~Then again does the land of Zelda even have a concept of planets?~~]

Earth? What, is that some kind of land on the surface or somethin'?

Uh, well, it's a big planet, an'... er- -

[A brilliant attempt at a description!]

Thing is, I could probably go on forever 'cause it seems y'ain't ever heard of it. What's your place like?

[Yeah, Groose is a bit lost. So, he'll just say that Mac's from some other land. The end.]
