Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

I'm learning how to cook, too! I go to the lessons that Sanji holds on Sunday mornings, and I try to do stuff on my own, too. I never had too much of a chance to cook before I came to Luceti.

I had...plenty of opportunity to learn, but no ability. I attempted to impress upon Helios and Ginia my inability and they insisted that I learn none the less. How is Sanji as an instructor?

He's really nice, I think! I've learned a few simple recipes from him, like omelettes and pasta and stuff. [She takes a bite out of whatever she took from Adele's platter, nomming a bit noisily.]

Helios and I have managed...stew. Cornbread. Beignets. And Macaroni and cheese from scratch. I think more pasta dishes are next on the list of dishes to learn.

Beignets? I don't think I've heard of those before. [Which is weird for a foodie like her.]

They are the rough equivalent of doughnuts in French cuisine, most popular in cafes in Paris and New Orleans. I think we made some...

[She turns back to the table and nods, motioning to a platter.] Here.

[Ooh! Pao-Lin quickly snatches one up and tries it.]

Wow, this is delicious! Thanks for suggesting it to me. [Om nom nom.] Are you French then, or do you just like French food or something?

I am glad you enjoy them. They are easy enough to prepare, at least they are if I am able to assist Helios in their making. [She chuckles.] French, yes. I grew up in Normandy and have spent most of my adult life in Paris...is the accent not a clue?

Sorry, I'm really bad with accents! All the European ones sound the same to me for some reason. Do you like Paris? It seems like such a cool place...

I can understand that entirely. Almost all American accents sound the same to me as well. Paris is....lovely, if crowded.

Well, I can imagine, if it's a big city. Sternbild and Hong Kong are like that, too.

Then it would not bother you overmuch should you ever have an opportunity to visit.

[Pao-Lin smiles at the thought.]

That's good! I'll definitely keep Paris on my list of cities to eventually visit when I get older. I think I'd like to visit Rome, too, and maybe London...

I've never been to London, but I have been to Rome, once. It's lovely, full of history and interesting individuals. I think you might enjoy it.

I really want to try the food! I've been to Italian restaurants in Sternbild before, but...things will probably be better straight from the source, right?

It's much more focused on fresh ingredients and pairing the meal with the appropriate wine. So long as you express your enthusiasm, they will be more than happy to help you find the best match for your palate.

Wine, huh? I've never had it, since I'm not allowed to drink yet where I'm from.

Then, if you truly have a sweet tooth, I recommend gelato. It is best when made fresh, and in Italy? There's no better place to find it.

I am Adele, it is a pleasure to meet you Pao-Lin. [Adele shifts the plate to one hand to offer the other to the young woman.]

It's nice to meet you, Miss Adele! But I should let you get back to work. Other people will want food too, after all!
