Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[She shouldn't be surprised at the enthusiasm Ariel has for this world. And yet she cannot help but find it endearing. After a soft chuckle she leans over to read, nodding.] I am a surgeon. When people have cut themselves or broken a bone, I help them become well again.

[Surgeon... She hasn't heard of that before. Doctors, yes, but not surgeons. Ariel makes an "oooh", though only with her mouth and a bit of breath. Then she writes that down in her notepad as well as the definition, though she spells it wrong ("Sergen"), before she makes a line below it to write to Adele again, a smile still on her face.]

"You have a wonderful job! Do you enjoy it?"

[Adele peers over into the journal as her profession is written, and chuckles.] S, u, r, g, e, o, n. In English, at least.

[A shrug, a soft laugh and returned smile.] I do. It is challenging, but knowing that I am helping people that need it, that I might ease their pain? It is worthwhile.

[... Ah, oh, right. She crosses out her first attempt at the word, and writes out the correct spelling, her shoulders lifted up with embarrassment. Sh-She knows the word, really...!

But her sheepish smile softens at what Adele's telling her. It's really... kind, and noble of her to do that. To think that way. She writes again:]

"If I hurt myself, I'm going to you first thing."

[It doesn't make Adele think any less of Ariel that she didn't spell it correctly the first time. Most didn't when they were unfamiliar with the word, so she just smiles and shakes her head faintly. It wasn't a problem.]

I would rather you not get hurt at all, but if you do? I or any of the other healers and physicians at the clinics can treat it.

[Ariel nods, her smile widening with gratefulness. At this point, she'd lean in and kiss that person's cheek, but, well. Every time she does it, people seem to react awkwardly rather than accept it. So, she refrains for now. And instead, she holds up a flashcard.]

"Thank you!"

It is no trouble Ariel. Just try to be careful, yes? I would rather not see you in the clinics as anything other than possibly a volunteer or a visitor.

"I'll visit you whenever I can! But how can I be a volunteer?"

[Ariel hasn't done much with medicine, after all. And... well, she certainly hopes she won't be a patient, but considering how many times she's fallen over ever since she arrived...]

There are classes in the clinics for first aid, and we always need assistants for the more basic procedures. If you like I am certain Dr. Willock or Dr. Law or myself will have time enough to walk you through the first aid course with no trouble.

[She gives a big smile, and she nods a few times fervently. She would love that! She usually leaves medical things to other such doctors, but... if she ever needed to help someone, she'd love to know what to do to help them.

But she doesn't quite know how to get to the clinic. So, she draws on her notebook now: A big square with "community 4" on it, then a line leading out from it, and a question mark beside the word "clinic".]

[Adele watches Ariel draw out the beginnings of a map with a half smile.]

There are two clinics. Dr. Law and myself spend most of our time in the Battledome Clinic, Dr. Willock spends the majority of his in the village clinic- here.

[It takes a moment to dig out her journal and flip it open to the map on the back, and if she's allowed Adele will draw out the two separate routes to each clinic, the hours of the physicians for each, and written directions just under the map should Ariel find them more useful.]
