What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

I didn't hear about those. What are volunteer missions?

It's a fairly recent thing. The Malnosso need certain tasks done and in exchange for volunteering, you'll get to pick a reward in proportion to the task you just did. You can pass on that and accumulate points toward a bigger prize later on, if you wish.

There's a large variety; scouting, guard duty, field medic work, guerilla warfare, research, and so on. Mine was mountain combat, ambushing Third Party camps and the like.

Mountain combat? [Molly's eyes widen and she shakes her head.] I'm no soldier.

[And, to be honest, she wouldn't have necessarily taken Rydia for one either.]

Nor am I...though I admit, I've had some training.

And you don't need to be, for a lot of those assignments. They require all sorts.

I guess we'll wait and see. I'm still just getting the hang of the town.

Of course. It's a lot to take in at once, but after a bit, it won't seem so overwhelming. And there are some nice spots, like the hot springs and the beach....

I've never been to a hot spring before.

Well, that should change! It's the best place to unwind, or at least I think so.

There's a teleporter in the Rec Center that will take you to the nearby bath house, so you don't have to take that long route through the mountains.

[Molly does a double-take and then her eyes widen.]

Did you just say a teleporter?

[Nodnod.]

There's two in town; one leads there, the other to the beach. That one is in the barracks. They've been used many times, and are perfectly safe. Otherwise, it would take days to reach those destinations.

What kind of a teleporter is it? Did the Malnosso make it?

No, it was done by someone else. But in either case, they work largely the same way. The only difference is that the barracks one is larger and can take up to ten people at a time, while the Rec Center one can take only two.

Oh, so... they're just regular technology?

[Molly figured that if it was easy enough for their brand of magic to mess up Malnosso tech, then Harry would have had them out of here. But regular technology? If she took that then maybe she'd never end up unscrambled.]

[She nods, shrugging a little.]

As far as I can tell, yes. I admit technology isn't my strong point; this place has a lot that's beyond my own world.
