Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

She takes his hand in a brief, firm shake. ]

You too. So how new is "new" for you, or are you one of the welcoming committee?

New is a few days. I tried to lend a hand to a couple of newcomers who came in after me, the proper welcome and all, but I didn't have much to offer that someone couldn't explain better. [ He shrugs. Ehh, what are you gonna do? ]

Makes sense. [She gestures around the party.] So, what do you think so far?

I'd call that a bit of a loaded question. [ He flashes a brief grin. ] Interesting, to say the best of it, and it's usually better for my sanity to stick to the best of it.

[Interesting is one of Those Words, the words used to describe anything from a half-baked meatball to a Picasso painting.]

If the best of it is "interesting," then we're really in trouble.

We're half in trouble just being here as it is. Might as well give it a label that fits.

[Dour, she decides. Very dour. Policeman? Maybe.

The other half would be enjoying the weather, wouldn't it?

Good point. We may have to fit health in as it relates to the weather.

Prime example. And I may just be waiting for someone to get sick spending too long out in the rain.
