Gaah! Aang, don't sneak up on me like that!

[His only precaution was taking small step back. Again with his real name? He'll let it by this time.]

It's part of the job. ...I'm here about your missing friend.

[Oh. Aang was still on that routine. He frowned and crossed his arms.]

Missing friend? What missing friend?

[He scoffs.] Please. You can't still believe I'm your friend. The rest of your group has been more or less convinced. ...But it seems he was here at some point. So I will do my best to gather evidence and find his whereabouts.

[... there are so many things wrong with this. But after his argument with Katara, trying to argue reason is kind of a challenge. At least this is fairly harmless. So he sighs.]

Right. His whereabouts. Have you found any temples lately? He likes those.

I don't know of any temples here. Unless of course you're treating your friend's disappearance as a joke. Something along those lines could make sense, though... he is apparently religious- no, your sister didn't like that word. ...Spiritual. That sounds more like the way she described him.

But how about this. [He knew the answer already from the time he woke up, but he asked in order to drive the point to Sokka.] Were you able to find any signs of his presence at all in his room? Any personal items or other clues?

[Yes Aang. It is a joke. And he's not sure if it's better or worse that Aang isn't taking it that way.]

Well let's see. Before the disappearance, he was sleeping in his bed. We all forgot a day, and then I'm going to guess you woke up in it. Sure you didn't notice anything in it?

[Well, he's clever in that regard.]

No. There were no possessions of any kind there. My own items... tools and gadgets from my own world... were at the item shop. It is a bizarre coincidence, but maybe it's something in our slight physical similarities that played a hand in this experiment. It can't be as simple as switching places, though, or Robin would know.

You know, it's pretty surprising that you never ran into your identical twin. Sure, he's only been here two weeks, but he's pretty hard to miss. How long have you been around here again?

I must have arrived at the same amount of time. Of course, I have been giving you all the benefit of the doubt in believing this person really has been here. I do doubt we're as identical as you all seem to think I am. And any similarity could easily have been exploited by the Malnosso. There is any number of possibilities for what is happening. As Arthur Conan Doyle would say, you're twisting facts to suit your theories.
