Okay the ninth

[Leo. Nice of you to show up.]

Welcome home, Darth Fearless.

[His tone implies that "welcome" may not be quite the right word.]

[fearless_leader]

[Hi to you too, Don.]

Don, about what I said this past week...

I don't care. Tell me about what you didn't say this whole past year.

[fearless_leader]

[Leo's eyes narrow a little at that, his arms moving to cross over his chest. It doesn't take him long to get it that this had to do with Don's trip home. Something happened. Something Leo didn't warn him about.]

What happened? [You're going to have to be specific Don, a lot of crap's happened that you don't know about.]

Drako and the Ultimate Ninja survived falling into that portal, merged into one body, stole the Daimyo's war staff, teleported into the Lair, and zapped me to some other world. You didn't find any of that worth mentioning?

It was the time scepter. You were there when he stole it, right out of the time Lord's hands. Don't you remember?

[Leo closes his eyes. Deep breath, deep breath. Adding his own emotions to this won't help. He gives a sigh, keeping his voice even and leaving his eyes closed for the moment, as he ducks his head a little.]

You told me you remembered us saving Karai from Bishop. Sometime after that you were here. A month passed between that and...Ultimate Drako's attack, Don.

If I thought you would encounter him in twenty-one hours, I would have said something.

[Don runs a hand down his face, trying to think, trying to remember exactly what he saw.]

You're right. Leo, you're right. It all feels so long ago... [Long enough that he mixed up his magical artifacts. Long enough that an entire adventure nearly disappeared from his memory.]

[fearless_leader]

[Right, Don's memories going. He sighs again, opening his eyes and looking to Don. He uncrosses his arms, only to put one hand on Don's shoulder. His voice turning understanding.]

It's why I wanted you to go home. [He hoped that perhaps it do Don some good to go home. Instead this happened. Turtle luck.] How about I fix some tea, and we can sit and talk?

[i_speak_softly]

Never mind the tea. [He takes a half-step closer and lets his forehead thunk onto Leo's shoulder.] I'm still angry at you. But I'm glad you're back.

[fearless_leader]

[Leo tenses at the thunk, before he relaxes again. He reaches to pat Don's shell.]

I can understand your anger. I'm back though, and not moving out again. [Not until possibly next season anyway.]

[i_speak_softly]

[A sort of vague punch in the plastron.]

Not about that.

[fearless_leader]

I can still understand your anger. I should've said something.

[He lets out a sigh, looking down at Don's head resting on his shoulder.]

What happened after he sent you to another world. [He wants to know, but a part of him expects Don to not want to talk about it.]

[You're evading, but he'll temporarily let you get away with it.]

[Don backs off and sits down at the table. He might accept tea now, if you still want to make it.]

I arrived in some kind of collapsed building. When I - when we - went outside, we were surrounded and attacked by... I'm not sure. Soldiers, I guess, but more like Bishop's men than your run-of-the-mill military. There were helicopters. Searchlights. We fought our way out, hid, tried to find you. It was... [He shakes his head.] I don't know, Leo. There was something not right about that place.

[For now Leo just listens, with a great deal of interest for something he ought to know about already. No, it definitely doesn't sound right. This...this sounds like that time the Mystic ninjas attacked them mentally. Searchlights, helicopters, being hunted down and exposed to the world..

He quickly pushes that feeling aside. He doesn't need to go down that road, not now. It wasn't real and it certainly had nothing to do with Ultimate Drako. Yes, he needs a distraction. Fixing tea is a good distraction.]

So you and Robert were attacked, but managed to escape. [He nods.]

I wish I could help Don, but I wasn't there.

[i_speak_softly]

[Don shakes his head.]

It wasn't Robert.

[fearless_leader]

[He looks back to Don at that.]

Who was it?

Do you know Selphie?

[fearless_leader]

[Leo thinks for a second, before he nods.]

I've talked to her. So she went with you then?

[So more than one thing went wrong with this experiment, great.]

Mm. And - afterwards I remembered her being our friend.

[fearless_leader]

Friend, how? [Was she close to them like April and Casey, or just a friend?]

[i_speak_softly]

We met her around the same time we met April and Casey. Mike brought her home. After that it seemed like she hardly ever left.

[fearless_leader]

She lived with us? Was she homeless?

[Why would somebody want to live in the sewer if they have other options?]

No, she just thought we were more fun.

[fearless_leader]

[Leo just gives his brother a look of disbelief. Seriously?]
