When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

[As soon as Sabriel heard about the airbending demo she hurried over to the stage to take a look. Only having her own experience of summoning the wind to reference, Aang's airbending makes her magic seem brutish and clumsy in comparison. There was just so much control in what he did and the way he moved, she'd never heard of any Charter spells that would even come close to mimicking it.

By the time he's taking his bow she's applauding with an impressed smile, waving up to the boy and vaguely wondering if he remembers her from their conversation.]

That was incredible! So that's how you airbend?

[Aang is indeed able to recognize Sabriel from the journal. He waves brightly to her and makes his way towards her.]

Yep! I guess you finally got to see it in action. How'd you like it?

I've never seen anything like it! You have far more control over the air than I could ever manage. [She chuckles and grins up at him.]

It looks like fun, especially the air-ball you made. [Air-ball, air scooter, same thing right?]

Thanks! I owe it all to the Air Nomads. It is fun - and that's called an air scooter. I made that move myself!

That's pretty remarkable Aang, it certainly looks like it would come in handy. [No doubt it would be good for a quick getaway if he ever needed one.]

Are the Air Nomads your teachers?

Yeah, they were the monks who raised me back home. [He decided to get it over with.] ...I'm the last one.

[Her eyes soften and she gives the boy a small, understanding smile...more than a little bittersweet.] That's something else we have in common it seems.

But.

[She looks around at the booths surrounding the stage and the people bustling about behind tables and explaining things, the group of them seeming to show a kind of unity.]

You have companions here with you, right?

Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know. [He gives a soft smile at her last words.] Yeah. Most of my best friends are here with me.

It's alright, it's not really the easiest thing to bring up in conversation. [Sabriel gives a small shrug, not wanting to linger on the topic of their losses. This was a fair, and they were supposed to have fun, right?]

Can your friends bend elements like you do?

[He gives an understanding smile.] Yeah, some of them can! Katara's a Waterbender, and Zuko's a Firebender. They're both really great, you should check them out! Sokka and Suki aren't benders, but they're great with weapons. You can meet them by the tent if you want.

So there's air, water and fire... [She counts out the benders on her fingers, tipping her head at the three and looking down at the stage curiously. It didn't look natural but he hadn't pointed out anyone who could move earth. Unless...]

Ah, did you do this then? With...earthbending?

[Did she get it right?]

My friend Toph is our Earthbender, but she's back home. So I'm kinda covering for her there. I'm not as skilled, but I'm still pretty good.

The stage looks good and you were pretty amazing with the rocks during the demo too. Is it hard to learn all the types of bending?

[savedtheworld]

Yeah! It was kind of different for each one. Airbending I've known pretty much all my life. The other forms were harder because I had to learn them all in under a year. Earthbending was the hardest, because it was the opposite of Airbending. So it kinda clashed with my personality. Firebending was also hard, but for... [he blinks back images of an accidentally burned Katara, and air temples on fire (thanks a lot Roku!).] different reasons.

That sounds tough to accomplish in under a year.

[Either his teachers were very good or he's an excellent student. Or both of course, he seems very dedicated.]

It was. I had to do a lot of training all the time. But I had the best teachers I could have hoped for.

With good guidance, hard work and dedication it's possible to get anything done.

[She's starting to sound like a prefect again.]

Now that you've finished your lessons are you going to try to make more new moves like your air scooter?

That's a great way of learning things Sabriel. And as for new moves, it's something I haven't thought about that much. An Air Nomad has to make only one unique move to become a master. But I did meet the wind spirit the other week! I'm gonna see if I can combine his magic with my Airbending in any interestng ways.

Oh, that's the filial spirit right? I haven't met any of them yet...what's it like?

Filial spirit - yeah, that's what they call them! It's hard to describe. I was able to attract Kipinn through my Airbending, and it kinda felt like he was talking to me without actually saying anything. Like feeling emotions and stuff. But he was very friendly.

Interesting...I don't think I've felt or heard any of the spirits yet. But then again I don't think I've been in a mind for it just yet.

[Even if she did, she wonders which spirit might reach out to her if any of them ever did.]

Well if you keep traveling around, maybe you can find him. I met him at the beach on a quiet evening. I also heard that he likes the mountains. But I don't think there's really a way to predict how one will meet you.

Yeah...I guess I'll just have to keep an open mind. It'd be nice to have something I could use in place of the Charter.

[...Now that reminds her.]

Have you been able to find anything to glide with here?

Yeah, my glider made it here alright!

[Aang then holds up his staff and grins. He taps it against the ground, and its glider wings stretch out.]

How have you been doing with your thing?

Wow, not that looks handy! [She tilts her head to get a better look at it. If she could control a summoned wind she might be able to make it fly...but she'd need the Charter for that.]

I can't yet, I need my Charter magic in order to make it but...who knows, maybe if I can get in touch with Kipinn I could figure something out.
