When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

[Ever since the talk with Robert previously about strange food, Beast has been a little more hesitant with that kind of thing, but the jerky and tea sure look appealing to him even if he just had some tea a few booths back. Maybe someone can convince him to try the other food, but for now his gaze is mostly on those two things.]

[Aang is at hand by the booth when Beast comes by. He hasn't really met someone quite so hairy and peers curiously after realizing that trying to ride him would not be polite.]

How are you doing?

[His head jerks up when he hears Aang's voice and... wasn't expecting to see bald. He has seen bald people before, but never anyone this young...] I-I'm a... al... right...? [Why does he have an arrow on his head? He tilts his own head to not-so-subtly observe it better.]

[He raises an eyebrow at the Beast's odd behavior, but he keeps up a smile. Aang tries to remember the phrases that he was suggested to ask to visitors.]

Good! Uh... do you need help with anything?

I... [Oh, right, booth, food, looking back at it now.] Uh... wh-what... are these...?

[Aang was able to follow his eyes to see which stuff he was interested in.]

Oh! [Using his staff as a pointer, he first indicated the jerky.] That's some jerky! It's made from... some kind of meat! I'm a vegetarian, so I kinda don't know anything about it except it used to be some animal! Maybe a seal.

[He then points out the tea.] This tea is great! I know that much. It's some nice and calming tea, made just the way it is back home. Plus, it was made by the leader of the Fire Nation himself!

["Jerky" he calls it? That's... a strange name for meat, but it still looks tasty, even if he's never eaten a seal before... so he's going to take a slice to try.

He takes some tea as well and then looks back at Aang.] You... don't eat meat?

[Placing his staff against the table, he rests his hands behind his head as he watches Beast.]

Nope! The monks raised me to respect all life, and that's what I do.

Respect... life? [He looks down at the jerky he's holding. He knows the one pony didn't eat meat, but she's a pony... he never thought eating meat would be thought as... disrespectful...]

Yeah! We hold every life to be equally important. So it's best not to hurt or eat any living thing.

[Aang isn't the type to get on a soapbox for his beliefs, but he can't help but answer honestly when asked]

It's... "best"... to? [But... but none of his servants had issues with eating meat. It was so... normal for them to have it. And Belle... she feels the same way, right? What about others here?

Should... should he not eat this jerky, then? Would it offend this boy if he did? Maybe... maybe he should put it back... yes... yes, he'll do that...]

[Aang quickly felt guilty and thought that Sokka would be annoyed with him.]

Oh! You don't have to - you can eat it if you want. I won't judge you or anything. And... it's not like it can come back to life now, anyway. ...Whatever animal it happened to be.

[It was around now that he realized the oddity of discussing this subject with someone who looked like a giant animal.]

[What? He's saying he can?] B-but you said it's best to not eat them!

[Though it's true that it is really already dead... and he does want to... but... it makes no sense!]

For people of my culture, yeah. But I can't make you follow my culture. I guess you're from a culture that's perfectly fine with eating meat, just like my best friends who made this food. You should do what seems right to you, sir.

[tailasoldastime]

Culture? You mean, wh-where I... come from? [If so, then that would mean it's alright to eat it... right? But... he looks down at it again. "What seems right to him"...?]

Yeah, your home! Do whatever you want. It won't bother me. I'm around real meat-eaters a lot.

[tailasoldastime]

[If... if it's right so long as his home does it... and it won't bother him... then he can eat it?

Well... looking down at that food one more time... raise it... and crunch. ... Alright, more chewy than crunchy, he didn't quite expect that... but it still tastes very good! If this is what "jerky" is, then he should try it more often!]

[Aang looks on, curious of his opinion while making sure to wear an approving smile.]

I- [He's briefly confused as to why the vegetarian would want to know but oh well he's answering anyway.] - Y-yes, it's... good! Very, uh... tasty. [Also salty. Very salty.]

Oh. [He was a bit surprised by the name... if the jerky was made of a bear or something, would that make him a cannibal? Aang quickly resumed his smile.] Nice to meet you, Beast!

[His face drops slightly... yes, Aang, he caught that reaction, he's quite used to people finding his name strange.] Y-yes... nice to meet you... too.
