Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

[Still kind of freaked out from the effects of the previous couple days, Pilouette is so not in the mood for this. She frowns, placing her hands on her hips. With the kind of questions he's asking, she's assuming he's a New Feather, so any panic is understandble, but wow, rude.]

Okay, like, one? I had nothing to do with it. Two, maybe if you like, chill out a little bit, I'll be willing to answer your questions.

[Putain, why is she making it so difficult? He has every right to pester!] I am chilled out! [He doesn't even know what that means, but he is dammit!]

[Since he seems to be quite a bit younger than herself, Pilouette is doing her best not to get too angry, but...]

Oh, you so are not. If you want me to answer your questions, how about you like, change that tone of yours?

[She stands there for a second, slackjawed. What a little brat!]

Omigod. You are like, beyond rude! And you're not making me do anything! I'm practically an adult here and you're like, what? Nine? Good luck getting any help with this little attitude you have going on here!

[Grr, no one calls him rude and gets away with it! And how dare you say he's any younger?] I'm ten. And I don't care how old you are! Don't you even know who I am?

Um, no, I don't. Plus, I don't know if I want to! Why would I want to know someone who totally acts like a little brat?!

Hey, you take that back! [He groans deeply and throws his arms up in the air in exasperation.] Grrrr, why doesn't anybody here know me?!

[She crosses her arms and gives a shrug.]

Because, you just got here? Like, no matter how well known you are back home, you're not at home right now.

Oh, why do you have to remind me? Why do you have to be so mean about it? Why am I here?! [Stomp stomp grrrr roar whiiiine.]

[Wait, is she mean? She doesn't think she's mean. She's never had a kid call her mean before and it...actually kind of makes her feel sort of bad. She sighs in resignation.]

Ugh. Ffffine. Whatever questions you have, I'll tell you what I know, okay?

Why am I here?

You're pretty much here for the same reason the rest of us are. A bunch of creepy scientists dragged us all here to be part of some kind of big stupid science experiment.

Scientists? [You mean those silly people who stare at the sky all the time and measure things?] How can they make experiments out of me?

[Pilouette here never passes up a chance to badmouth the Malnosso and this is no exception.]

I don't know exactly how they do it, but they do these things called "shifts" and they always do it just like, whenever they want without telling any of us because they're totally inconsiderate! And they never even tell us just what it is they're gonna do! And someone told me that those guys try to tell everybody that we just happen to end up in this world and they just like, pick us up, but I don't believe a word of it!

Sometimes if you're lucky, whatever dumb experiment is going on won't affect you, but a lot of the time...Bleagh. It's like, super awful.

... Really? [He's not believing you quite yet, Pili.] What are these "shifts", then?

Well, they can be all kinds of things. Like I said, I don't know the exact details, but...stuff like turning a person into something else or making them do stuff they wouldn't normally do.

[She wants to give some more specific examples, but...the ones that come to mind are ones that involve her and that's embarrassing.]

... No, no, he still doesn't believe you, he needs reason to believe something that ridiculous.]

And why exactly do they do that?

[She shrugs.]

I don't know! If I did...well, I still probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it. As far as I know, they just do it because they're a bunch of creepy jerks!

But why you? [It's directed at everybody, not just her. But yes, it's pretty insulting the way he said it.]

[She is definitely not liking that tone, but she's going to answer anyway.]

From what I've heard they just take anyone no matter who you are. In other words, just because these scientists take you, it doesn't mean you're like, special or whatever.

Are... are you sure these are... "scientists"? [Because he's still having trouble believing that scientists can pull that off on anyone, let alone him.]

Well...It's not like I've met them or anything. But some people have! I think! And they all say they're scientists! The kind of science they have here is like, totally super advanced and stuff!

It kind of has to be for them to stuff like this.

[She turns a little and motions to her wings.]

But, scientists can't kidnap people to another place and turn them into-

[Snort. He just saw her wings. Sorry, Pili, he thinks it's quite funny.] Wh... what are those?

Um, they're like, wings? Obviously?
