Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

Does day 3 work?

[Firo's managed to track down some food and is sitting in the shadow of one of Luceti's buildings. He's munching away on an apple, with another sitting close by his side.

He looks up from his snack to see a kid not too much younger than himself skulking around. Distracted for the moment, he pauses to watch what she's up to. The thought that she could be after his food is vexing, but he's not about to retreat yet.]

Day 3 it is!

[ Unfortunately she has been drawn by the munching sound, and now she has her eyes on that apple next to him.

Stare.

Staaare.

And suddenly the staring gives way to running as she dashes towards the apple. FOOD. ]

[Oh no, not the food! Startled, Firo drops the apple he was eating into his lap. Once he realizes where she's headed, he dives to the side to grab his other apple. Jumping to his feet, he holds both protectively to his chest.]

H-hey! What the hell do you think you're doin'?

[ When he stands, she quickly startles to a stop, glaring at him. After a moment she opens her mouth and gives what sounds a lot like an angry yowl.

She's still sizing him up to see if she should just charge him and take the food anyway. ]

[findafamily]

[Firo holds his food tighter and responds with an exasperated growl of his own.]

What do you want!?

[He has a pretty good guess, but he's not exactly eager to share. Though... she is a kid. He can't help but feel a bit of sympathy.]

[ The growl makes her take half a step back, her expression growing more wary, but the glare is still there. ]

[findafamily]

If you wanted somethin' you could at least ask nicely.

[He considers just leaving and taking his food with him, but if he was in her situation, he'd probably be acting similarly. Taking things by force always seems to work better than asking for it. He shuffles his feet uncomfortably, debating what to do.

He reluctantly holds the unbitten apple out to her. He can afford to share for now, can't he?]

[ To bad she doesn't know enough language to answer! Or even understand him...

When he holds out the apple she flinches and takes a step back, but her eyes are immediately fixed on the fruit. ]

[findafamily]

Come on, take it.

[He takes a little step forward and shakes the apple. Maybe she just doesn't know English, Firo lives in an area with enough immigrants that that's a common thing. Whatever the reason for her silence, they're not getting anywhere by standing still.]

Here.

[He lightly tosses the apple her way.]

[ She startles when he first tosses the apple, but she quickly darts forward and grabs it, then turns around and runs away a short distance. Once she feels like she's far enough to get a good head start if he runs at her, she turns and watches him warily, slowly eating the apple.

Sorry, she isn't really one for gratitude... ]

[findafamily]

[Hmph, how rude! But Firo doesn't really care; you gotta do what you gotta do. Being suspicious of strangers could save your life.]

You're welcome.

[He resumes munching on his own apple as he takes a step closer to her. Will she run away..?]

[ She takes half a step back, still wary, but continues eating the apple.

This is really tasty... ]

[findafamily]

[He'll stop there, for now. No sense in doing something that could scare her off; Firo may not want to admit it, but he does like having company sometimes.]

Got a name?

[ Sorry, Firo, she doesn't understand you.

... And right now she doesn't have a name besides.

So in response, she just takes another bite of the apple. ]

[findafamily]

[He's not going to give up just yet; it hasn't crossed his mind that she might not have a name in the first place. Firo takes a few more bites of his apple as he tried to come up with a plan.

...Except plans aren't really his thing, so he'll just go for a straightforward approach. He points to himself.]

Firo.

[He points to her.]

You?

[ She stares curiously for a moment. He was making noise, so...

She replies with a small sound that sounds sort of halfway between a meow and a yip. Are we making noise? ]

[ooc: Is it alright if we continue here?]
