Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

[When Aang emerges from his room, Toph is already awake and stretched out at the kitchen table.]

Hey, Sweetness. What's for breakfast? I'm starving.

[Now I'm Sweetness?]

Toph. I don't think I'm who you think I am.

[metalbends]

[What? Of course she is. That's Katara, alright.]

Yeah, yeah, very funny. If you're gonna be weird about it, I'll just have some cereal or something.

[She sighs and shakes her head.]

It's not a joke. It's me, Aang!

[Pardon her while she's doubled over on the floor now.]

[She does, eventually. After her sides are sore and she's literally out of breath.]

I guess it's experiment season again.

I guess so. There was a bunch of weird things going on yesterday. But... don't they usually start on the same day?

Sometimes. But who knows? The Mallies do whatever they want.

Yeah, that's getting really annoying. But I guess it could be a lot worse. At least I still know who I am.

[metalbends]

[Could it be worse? Could it?]

Yep. Now you just get to be aware of how weird it is while it's happening!

It is really weird. I'm... Katara, and I don't know why.

...One time? They turned me into this giant rock snake that couldn't even talk. But I can imagine being Katara would be pretty weird, too.

That one sounds pretty fun. I wouldn't mind spending some time as cool animals! Especially when they're not old friends who live in the same house with me and with whom things are pretty complicated already.

[metalbends]

What? It wasn't fun at all! I couldn't even talk. It took Sokka ages to figure out who I was. And I couldn't earthbend.

[Not like she usually could, anyway. Though being that huge was kinda cool.]

Sorry, Toph. I just thought it sounded like it was neat if it was temporary. It is bad that you lost such a big part of yourself. [He feels bad enough when he remembers that he can't Airbend as her. He also begins to wonder if Toph could see in that form, but he had enough tact to stop himself from actually asking.]

[metalbends]

Wait. So if you're Katara...can you still airbend? Or do any of your Avatar things?

[He stretches her hand out as if Airbending and produces nothing.]

No, I- I can't. I'm just a Waterbender. The best Waterbender in the world. Or I guess just in the body of the best Waterbender in the world.

[...Oh that sounds kind a gross. When she thinks about Aang being a girl now and...not just any girl.

Yeah awkward.]

And how do you feel...about being a girl?

It's... uh, it's weird. Really, really weird. I mean... I'm not sure how much of it is from being a girl and how much of it is just not being me. Just having hair makes me feel really uncomfortable... even if it is really nice hair. I also feel kind of... nervous and afraid, like I'm doing something wrong. It's not like I asked for it. And.... well, you can probably guess my body feels really different. It feels weird just to feel my own hands.

[metalbends]

[She can't help but snort again, but she tries to keep herself from bursting out into laughter again.]

Aren't you just gonna go sleep through it or something? That's what I would do.
