Summary: An impromptu last minute stubborn celebration of something that's fun.

[Tis a mingling post. Mingle!  Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[ Ikki tagged along with her GranGran (and Grandpa, and Uncle Sokka), and her cheerful mood only brightened further when she recognized someone running around with blue hair. ] Vivi!! [ Running up to her, because yay! ] How're you?

Ikki! [She waves as soon as the other girl's call catches her attention.] Hi! I'm sooo glad you're here too! [Because, let's face it, most of this party crowd is older people.]

I'm good! It's Nami's birthday--or, I guess it was yesterday--but anyway, we're having a party!

[breezing]

[ The under-ten demographic is just a lot more elite. With awesome. Clearly. ] Yep! I came here with my Grandpa and Katara and Uncle Sokka!

This place is really pretty! There're so many trees!

[alabastatomboy]

Oh, wow. Can I meet them later?? [Despite...technically already knowing Katara and Sokka when she's older. She can't remember that now.]

[She beams, certain that Nami would appreciate that complement to her grove.] They're Nami's mikan trees! Did you have any of the mikans? They're really good! Oh, and I bet we could play hide and seek in there, or maybe tag!

[breezing]

Yeah! They'd love to meet you! [ Ikki doesn't know that, either. TBH will be heartbroken when she realizes this isn't the "normal" Vivi. ]

No, I didn't yet! I'm gonna try one later though. Oh! [ squealing, and jumping up and down. ] We could! Or - or hide and seek tag! So when you find me or I find you we haveta tag the other person and then they have to go hide?

Oh, good! You can introduce me later, okay? [I knooow; it's so sad. S-sorry, Ikki. ;__;]

[And, looking around. Ikki's idea sounds like fun.] Do you think anyone else will play with us? [It seems a little dubious; it's mostly grown-ups here, and a lot of them are just talking and drinking.] ...well, it should still be enough with just two!

[Oh! And before she forgets, she pulls out a paper flower Nami helped her make earlier; red and orange twisted together.] I made this for you! Hold still, okay? [And she'll tuck it carefully into Ikki's hair, right beside one of her buns. She takes a step back to survey her work, then nods.] There! Now we match! [Pointing to the paper flower above her ear, made in twists of dark blue and purple.]

Kaaay! [ she is forever treasuring their friendship/sisterhood~ ]

Hmm. [ Ikki's glance around is pretty dubious, too. They look to be the only small children in the vicinity. ] Yeah! Two's a good number. And maybe they'll see how fun it is and join in!

[breezing]

[ Ikki smiles, less crazily happy than normal and more quietly genuine, with a little bit of awe. The flower is so pretty, and when Vivi tells her to hold still, she does, and reaches up to touch the paper flower in her hair, gently. ] Thanks! They're so, so pretty, Vivi!

[Vivi beams, glad her gift was met with approval. She worked so hard on it, after all.] You're welcome! [She points again to her own paper flower.]

Nami made this one for me, and then she showed me how! And I'm glad you came so I could give it to you today, otherwise I'd have to find out where you live and bring it tomorrow--hey, where do you live? [You don't mind a princess popping in for a playdate, right?]

[breezing]

Nami's really smart, then!! [ Ikki grins, clearly impressed by Vivi's skills. ]

Oh! [ She totally wouldn't mind ever at all! ] I live in house 56 with my family - Grandpa Aang and Katara and Uncle Sokka and Aunt Toph and Uncle Roku and Uncle Zuko! Where do you live?

She is! And she's really pretty, too.

Fifty-six. [She murmurs it back to herself to help remember.] Okay! I'll try and remember! I... Well. I don't really live there, but I'm staying until I go back home, so you can come and visit me until then. House six! Nami lives there and Sanji and Luffy and Tony Tony Chopper and-- [She pauses for a breath, and a different thought strikes her. She lowers her voice and leans in closer.]

If Zoro answers the door, don't worry. He looks mean but he's really not. [Pause.] His hair is green. [Stated in a somewhat awed tone, because blue hair is obvs perfectly normal, but green? Seriously, who has green hair?!]

[breezing]

Yeah! I've never met anyone with hair that colour before. [ Black and brown and grey are the only variants she's familiar with. ]

[ Staying there. Maybe Ikki should be thinking of it that way, except she almost doesn't want to leave - her grandfather is alive here, among other things. ] House six! I'll absolutely remember! [ Some of those names sound really familiar... ]

If I come over, will you introduce me? [ WAIT WHAT, Ikki's face takes on a similarly awed look ] Green? Really?

I will! There's a lot of people there, but it's a big house. And there's grass on the roof. [Giggling, but it's 100% true. Strawhats be crazy, yo. Speaking of which...]

Really, it's green! And he went away for a while and when he came back he looked all weird and different, except his hair is still green.

[breezing]

Are there flowers on the rood, too? [ IMPORTANT QUESTIONS, YO ]

Where'd he go?

Some! And also chairs and a table with an umbrella and... [dramatic pause for the best part] ...a trampoline!

...I dunno. Sanji says he just got lost.

[breezing]

A trampoline? [ have a curious look, Vivi. ]

Wo-ow. He must be pretty bad with directions if he got lost that long, huh?

Yeah! Um, you jump on it, and it's springy, so you bounce really high!

[She giggles.] He is. He gets lost all the time!

[breezing]

[ THAT SOUNDS SO MAGICAL. Ikki is clearly impressed. ] Wo-ow! Can I play on it sometime?

[ She giggles, too. ] That's silly! I guess it's not worrying, huh?

Sure! It's a lot of fun! [She's pretty sure none of the Strawhats will mind if she invites Ikki over to play. Things are pretty casual there.]

I guess not! He always gets home eventually. [She peers into the mikan trees.] I bet he's probably lost in there right now. I don't see him out here, but he must be at the party.

[She laughs, thinking of a new wrinkle they can add to hide and seek tag.] If you find Zoro in the trees, you get a bonus! [A bonus what, she's not sure, but it sounds official.]

[breezing]

Well, Katara's birthday is tomorrow, soooo - maybe this weekend!

[ Ikki looks around, too. ] I don't see anyone with green hair!

[ She laughs, then claps. ] Yeah! A definite bonus! Should we start now?

[alabastatomboy]

Uh. [She feels like she should know this, but Ikki has kind of a big family.] Who's Katara again?

[...oh right, there were about to play a game, weren't they?] Yeah, okay! Who should be it first?

[breezing]

[ Yeah, it doesn't help that she keeps adding people, either. ] My GranGran. She's the one with dark hair and skin and really pretty blue eyes. [ POINTING~~~ Since Katara's at this shindig. ]

Hmmmm. Do you want to be?

[alabastatomboy]

[Oh, okay. She'll do her best to remember.]]

Sure, I can! I'll count to twenty, okay? And then when I'm done, I'll yell, "Ready or not, here I come!" and find you!

[She doesn't wait for confirmation from Ikki before leaning against a mikan tree and covering her eyes.] One...two...three...

[breezing]

[ Ikki doesn't mind if she forgets. She's got a lot of people to keep straight! ]

Okay!! [ As soon as Vivi leans against the tree, Ikki's off like a shot. Where to hide? Under the refreshment table? Behind a tree? In a tree? No, that wouldn't be fair, because she'd be too hard to tag. So that meant...

Oh, the count was going up. Um, quick decision to stash herself in a group of handy party guests. 8|a ]
