[ Also prowling the village - although not prowling, because she's just walking around and not lurking behind anything at all - is Ikki, who carries around a pink plastic bucket, inside which is some water and Petunia the starfish (former gallant prince). Since she's been keeping an eye out for any suspicious characters, Sokka...sort of stands out. What with all the lurking. And prowling.

No seriously what is he doing behind that lamp post she can totally see him.

...Hey, d'you happen to have anything against any princes maybe named Petunia? [ yeah she doesn't know how to do subtle ]

[Oh. A little girl. Interesting. He had been studying her for awhile and deemed conclusively she could not possible be his long lost love. Or the beast he must slay.]

I don't know. Would this prince happen to have six legs?

[breezing]

Nope, he has five! ...Well, right now, anyway.

[ She may have had to stop and count Petunia's legs in the bucket, just to double-check, because that question was sort of confusing. ]

Five? That seems pretty suspicious. Did he happen to lose his sixth one?

[breezing]

I think he's always had just five, 'cept when he probably had two before being cursed! [ She holds out the bucket for inspection. ] See?

[Sokka stares in the pail and frowns.]

Are you sure he isn't just... a starfish?

[breezing]

He is right now! [ Here, let her dig out her card to hand over. She probably should be more careful about who she shows her life to, since she lets people read it all willy-nilly. ]

See? He's just cursed.

...Hey, y'know, I do know something with six legs, though! ...Or maybe they're arms?

[AHA. Sokka perks up, keenly interested now.]

Outside of our house! He likes apples! ...I know 'cause he ate my breakfast apple an' then I had to get a new one.

Ugh! What a monster. He stole your apple!? Show me where he is. I'll take care of him.

I think 'cause he was hungry. I bet whoever feeds him forgot to do it, y'know. ...If he's not just wild, but he has a saddle an' stuff, and wild things with six arms don't have those, do they? Maaaaaybe they do, I dunno.

[ But she starts walking again anyway, because she's totally up for showing off the menagerie that apparently lives with and around her household. Ikki hasn't quite decided on an appropriate name for all of the unnamed ones yet. ]

A saddle, huh? So this monstrous, demonic beast has a master. I should have known that a dumb beast couldn't be solely responsible for my tragic backstory.

[Well now he just has to find the person who rides this beast. A giant, perhaps?]

...I didn't say he was demonic or monstrous. Well, actually, I'm not sure it's a he! How do you tell? Some of the animals here are so weird. [ but maybe it is, she certainly doesn't know. She hasn't heard why he wants to find this beast, anyway. ]

What tragic backstory is that?

He killed everyone I know and loved.

He did?! [ That's tragic indeed! Especially because she might have given him a lot more apples after that first one. 8|a Hmm. ]

I guess he did have really big teeth! [ although they were more...flat. Rather than pointy. ]

Maybe he ate them whole an' they're still in there?

... it doesn't work that way. If he did eat them whole, they would have died from his stomach acids by now.
