EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT
Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...
Summary: See this post for more info.
Rating: P for Points! (Keep it PGish, folks. Anything worthy of a higher rating can be brought to your appointments posts.)
As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.
Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.
Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head
Happy hunting!

Any day, ever.
That's one kind of birthday present, courtesy of the Malnosso. Good thing he saw CJ's announcement, or he'd be completely confused.
Luckily for him, some of his appliances still work the way they should. Most notably, his nanocomputer - despite having a fancy new Japanese-styled case - still functions exactly the same as it should. As do some of the other appliances, even if they look quite different from the outside...
After figuring out where Don is, and whether everything's alright with him, he'll go out to explore. Anybody want to join him?
Subsequent days will find him ranging all over Luceti, themed-nanocomputer in tow as he takes extensive notes and collects items. He's not really interested in the scavenger hunt (the points aren't particularly appealing when he's not sure he could get half of what he wants) but he will still be glad to help people out with logistics puzzles. And maybe you can drag him to specific locations!
Catch up with Ice Age Robert peering through his snow goggles at the weirdly-rendered simulations of animals. Be amazed as Egyptian Robert painstakingly scrawls notes on papyrus scrolls - or maybe drag him into a pyramid to explore. Or perhaps you'll see Gangland Robert ducking around the back alleys, avoiding the mobsters anxiously even if they're just simulated people.
Or spot him standing and staring at inefficient Space Opera technology. Really, is this what they thought the future would look like?
No matter where Robert goes, he'll be accompanied by his nanocomputer, and by a tote bag that morphs along with its contents as he explores and analyzes the terrain. Anybody is welcome to pull him aside to talk, or try to get the help of somebody knowledgeable-looking.]
First day
no subject
He pauses, his expression full of confused wonder as he takes in their redecorated home.]
... Well. One can... h-hardly fault the Malnosso for not being thorough...
... Good m-morning, Don...
no subject
You're a disgrace to thousands of years of Japanese culture.
[He turns back to the stove.]
I hope you're hungry.

I-Is it... my sub-par navigational ability in these... [... what's even the proper name for them, anyway?] ... devices?
[And what are you making anyway, Don? Robert shuffles carefully closer; all these draping robes are going to take some getting-used-to.]
no subject
[He is making quasi-vegetarian oyakodon, the meat and non-meat ingredients carefully separated into different pans.]
no subject
... Do the... o-other clothes I am wearing also have names that you... r-recognize? [He would like to know what to call these things properly.]

I must admit that... the kimono is very n-nicely patterned. [It reminds him of some Terran clothes, actually...] In f-fact, I... I believe this is... a linden tree...
[A nostalgic, wistful tone creeps into his voice at that. Oh Malnosso, you shouldn't have.]

It still makes him a little upset, though.]
Perhaps... tea? [Because it seems fitting.]

third day, in Gangland
[Still, Red doesn't know this, so he's walking contentedly through the streets when he spots an oddly dressed - even for this area - man hiding carefully in an alley. Maybe he was taking refuge from the mobsters, Red thought, but even so, it wasn't right to leave him unprotected. Honestly, he didn't look very physically capable...]
[Red saunters up to Robert, grinning happily (and a bit nervously.)] Hey, need a hand? You look a bit lost.
sorry about that, took awhile to reply D8
... Though, perhaps his level of physical capability would surprise Red.
Or not. He's still not the greatest with his sword skills even if he's been training for the better part of a year, now.The man startles slightly at Red's approach; his voice is unfamiliar, after all. But he relaxes a little when it's obvious that he's not one of the simulated mobsters.]
... Ah... f-forgive me, I was... m-merely attempting to... a-analyze this area of the simulation...
... or, er, I w-was, until... until the simulated p-people here saw fit to... evict me from the e-establishment. Apparently I was "bad for b-business".
[Or something like that. He hadn't wanted to pick a fight, not when he wasn't there for the items... and, really, he would honestly rather avoid fighting anyway.]
it's okay :3
Just takin' a look around? Are you doin' the hunt too? Think I can help ya out with it if you need it. [Red's still sounding a little nervous, though; he doesn't know if the mobsters would have discovered their missing keys yet.]
/does it twice because what is life. Also captcha of horror. D8
[Honestly though, he's not the competitive type. Which brings him to his next point.]
However... c-collecting information about how the simulations f-function... that could also assist those who are playing. Such as yourself, I... p-presume.
it's double okay!
Simulation? You're sayin' this whole thing is kinda like a giant version of the battle dome? Huh, they gotta have a lotta power to do this. Anythin' interestin' you can tell me about it? [Especially information about how to get out of a firefight. That could come in handy really quickly.]
Some... some fifth day! Behold my latedness!
H... H-Hast... tings?
[Of course he is so far unaware that he himself looks just as strange, if not stranger (complete with a certain kind of belt).]
Trust me, you cannot get much later than I am. :|
... W-Well.
...
... We certainly both... have v-very interesting clothing here...
... [Is it clothing in the Beast's case?]
1/2 - We can both improve ^^
2/2
Before they know it, Beast let's out a gigantic roar in shock and horror.] ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
no subject
P-Please, Beast, there is... no reason to sh-shout...!
... We are fine... t-truly. It is... t-temporary. [And simulated.]
no subject
no subject
[The visor he has on probably makes him look foreign, so he pushes them down his nose a bit to smile at Beast in what he hopes is somewhat calming.]
... It is... e-exactly what they have done to my clothing. And g-glasses.
no subject
Just... just wh-what they've done to... y-you.
/SO LATE YES. We can stop this if you want though <3
[The man gestures around himself; the simulated landscape is just as strange as what he's wearing, not that Beast didn't notice that. But it might put things in perspective now.]
Everything here is... g-generated with a computer. It is... merely a skewing of the... r-representation of Luceti...
... I trust that you will look like your u-usual self, if you leave...
