EVENT LOG: FEATHERLY HAVEN RESORT & SPA

On the 17th, all characters will find an embossed invitation tucked inside the front cover of their journals, asking them to gather up by the hot springs for a marvelous party at the Featherly Haven Resort & Spa. Upon arriving, they’ll find that the area has been temporarily transformed into a luxurious vacation retreat. Although the weather is just as chilly as it should be in mid-February, the hot springs are compellingly warm and once the sun sets, the area is lit by grand torches. The usual hot springs buildings are somewhat incredibly replaced with what looks like a swanky resort -- though the building itself will disappear soon after the Shift’s end. There is a sizeable lobby, complete with plump couches and a droid-staffed bar. Each and every one of the hotel’s rooms is a honeymoon suite, stocked with champagne and fondue and yet more platters of fresh fruit. Courteous (albeit stoic) droids tend massage chairs and manicure stations on the resort's first floor, shaded by billowing, cream-coloured curtains. Others will be passing around festively coloured drinks, platters of fresh fruit, and -- of course -- huge complimentary towels to wrap up in once your soaking is complete: the whitest and fluffiest and most spa-like towels you ever did see.

Available both in the rooms, outside by the hotsprings, and in heaps inside the lobby, are little foil-wrapped and bite-sized chocolates. As with other items in previous years, each of these chocolates comes with a dizzying side-effect upon consumption:

White Chocolate will overwhelm its consumer with the desire to talk and -- more specifically -- the desire to share. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to chat the ear off of anyone near them, perhaps spilling some personal details in the process. But being chatty is a two way street, and so they will also press upon their conversation partners for details of their own lives. It’s a lethal combination: a nosy over-sharer.

Milk Chocolate will flush its consumer with the desire to be warm and affectionate with those around them. Hugs and kisses on the cheek will abound. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to throw their arm around those near them -- clasping close friends and associates alike. Personal space is no longer an issue.

Dark Chocolate will inspire quite another flavour of affection in its consumer. Upon eating this treat, a character’s libido takes over the driving seat. Many people around them become terribly terribly attractive and, as lust courses through the character’s system, they’ll hope to convince someone back to their suite for a little hanky panky.

Chocolate Coated Marzipan -- smooth and silky on the tongue -- evokes a spontaneous sense of...marital bliss. Those who chow down on this treat will find themselves tracking down someone they know they simply don’t want to live without. Whether this is someone they were previously attracted to in the week or a total stranger, your character will find themselves proposing marriage. And, (in)conveniently for them, all marriages may take place in the resort’s own Vegas-style wedding chapel! All ceremonies will be performed by a droid-officiant who looks disturbingly like Elvis Presley. Witnesses are optional but encouraged.

[Kyon, returning from his first fun Malnosso bonding time, has caught wind of this, and,

'...I mean, I'm not going to complain. Okay, I might need very gentle massaging, but you know what, Singles Awareness Day will translate nicely to getting pampered by people and eating these chocolates. Ah, chocolate, even better. If there's a trap, I don't even care. If it doesn't happen one way, it'll happen another, after all...'

Find him lying around getting a light massage or soaking in the spring, and eating the chocolate of choice. He's favoring the white chocolate mostly, but could conceivably be found eating whatever.]

[ Ange is very decidedly not even touching the chocolates. But she was dragged here by Keiichi, so she figures once Keiichi leaves her side for a moment and she spots Kyon in the massages area she figures she might as well strike up a chat to have something to do. Her usual pigtails with hair decorations are gone though, leaving her with her hair down. ]

Having fun? [ But her tone is as dry as ever, at least. ]

['All kinds of things may go to crap in a handbasket. The sky could fall down, the cow could jump over the moon, but at least Ushiromiya is still going to ask "Having fun?" in that way.']

Oodles, Ushiromiya. I see you've let your hair down yourself.

This is more of a permanent change. I'm not exactly that much into a single party.

[ Although she still is a little self-conscious about it. .. Just a little. And even then it doesn't show much, since what is talking about your worries openly when you're Ange. ]

A permanent change. Man, what did I miss? Getting in touch with your softer side?

[ .. There's a moment of hesitation, as if she's wondering whether to make a snarky remark or tell the truth.. and then just settles on both. ]

I just decided to exchange it for this. [ She holds up her hand, a diamond ring on the ring finger. ]

[And Aang sees Kyon while he's being massaged and, vaguely recognizing him from the journal, steps over with some white chocolates in hand.]

Hi there! Did we ever give each other names? I don't think you gave me a name, just the drawing. I'm Aang, I'm an airbender and the Avatar, who are you? Are you enjoying your massage? Want some chocolate? I got a bunch of white ones and some lighter brown ones! I had some dark ones but they keep getting too melty to eat. And did you ever figure out what that painting was? It did kinda look like a lady.

[He may have already had a few pieces himself.]

['I don't remember him being quite like this last time.']

...Uh. I'm Kyon. Nice to meet you.

['......Yeah, I forgot what else he asked.']

Kyon? That's a pretty cool name! It's nice to meet you too! My name's Aang! [A blink and a fast-forwarded version of his laugh.] But I already said that, didn't I? Didn't I ask other questions? Do you like your massage? Also, do you want any chocolates? I got a lot!

['Maybe if I don't say anything, it'll think I'm dead and lose interest.']

It's a pretty good massage for a robot. And, uh. Chocolates, huh? Yeah, I saw those. They any good?

Yeah, they're delicious. Real delicious! If you want one, I'll give it to you, no problem! Trust me, you'll love it! [And he holds one out.]

[It's the hot spring that Maron will find him at. There are absolutely no cares in slipping into the water next to him - hey, she's got a swimsuit on at least! - to say hello. For the most part, she'll just keep on smiling, maybe just looking for a reaction from Kyon in her sudden appearance next to him.

Could be worse. There could be lava and just a bed for them to be on with some really terrible words being said in innocence.]

[He is rather startled--'"At least"?? Was there any other option?!'--but settles quickly into a wry grin.]

This kind of thing is why I actually believe in your phantom thieving capabilities.

Pff, there's no way. I'm just good at sneaking up on people. Kind of comes from my best friend being a cop's daughter and her always watching. And remember, being a phantom thief is supposed to be secret, July. You can't just go around talking about it!

So being around police helps you evade them better, huh, Junne?

[He shrugs.] It's okay. No one's watching. I'm pretty sure. Besides, my phantom thief protection will keep anyone from hearing.

Ahah-- yeah sort of, I guess. [That's... uh, yeah. TRY TO ACT NATURAL.]

[But that last bit gets actual, non-nervous laughter from her.]

Ph-phantom thief protection? I didn't think you had secret, special powers like that, you never told me!

[Yotsuba comes across Kyon getting a massage. It looks pretty fun! She's never seen someone getting a massage before, so of course she has to investigate.]

Ohhh, Yotsuba found Kyon! What are you doing? Is it fun? It looks fun, ten stars! Does it hurt? Don't hurt yourself Kyon, that's bad!

[She might have had some white chocolate. Or. Not. It's honestly hard to tell if she has or if she's just being herself.]

Oh. Yotsuba, you found me. ['So much for peace and quiet.'] --Three stars for you.

[He will have no way to tell on that chocolate matter, that's for sure. Opening one eye, he grins a little bit.]

Who says I've got a choice in the matter? This robot has a spirit of its own. Like most robots around Luceti.

[Yes, good job self. Yotsuba claps her hands together three times, one for each new star.]

Does Yotsuba say? [...] You have a choice in the matter. [Now to the droid.] He has a choice in the matter.

[The robot stops. Which does not please Kyon entirely.]

It's okay, Yotsuba. These aren't the droids you're looking for. These are the good ones.

Ohhh, it's a good one.

[She stares the droid down for a second before speaking up again.]

You're good, so keep up the good work! Work really hard! Yotsuba isn't looking for you.

-Kyon? Kyon?! You're back! [She's been here all day. And hasn't seen him in a while. Abashed, she was concerned, and as a result she, unabashed again, races over to him despite him being in the middle of a light massage to run up and tap him on the shoulder]

[He sits up straight and then manages to bang his head against the massage robot.

'...Ow.']

--Yo, Haruhi.

Yeah, back in action. ['As gloriously as ever.']

[godbent]

[She totally ignores that whole injury thing, instead taking hold of one of his shoulders and shaking him lightly]

And you're okay? No damage?!

[And as she says this she glares at the droid, breaking eye contact a little. ...Stupid robot. The robot just stares back. Emotionless. As robots tend to be]

[As he rubs his head, a small, rather pleased, almost smug smile creeps over his face. It's at that glare. Entirely at that glare.]

Well, damage is pretty minimal. I'm sore as hell, but I'm fine. I think. How about you?
