EVENT LOG: FEATHERLY HAVEN RESORT & SPA

On the 17th, all characters will find an embossed invitation tucked inside the front cover of their journals, asking them to gather up by the hot springs for a marvelous party at the Featherly Haven Resort & Spa. Upon arriving, they’ll find that the area has been temporarily transformed into a luxurious vacation retreat. Although the weather is just as chilly as it should be in mid-February, the hot springs are compellingly warm and once the sun sets, the area is lit by grand torches. The usual hot springs buildings are somewhat incredibly replaced with what looks like a swanky resort -- though the building itself will disappear soon after the Shift’s end. There is a sizeable lobby, complete with plump couches and a droid-staffed bar. Each and every one of the hotel’s rooms is a honeymoon suite, stocked with champagne and fondue and yet more platters of fresh fruit. Courteous (albeit stoic) droids tend massage chairs and manicure stations on the resort's first floor, shaded by billowing, cream-coloured curtains. Others will be passing around festively coloured drinks, platters of fresh fruit, and -- of course -- huge complimentary towels to wrap up in once your soaking is complete: the whitest and fluffiest and most spa-like towels you ever did see.

Available both in the rooms, outside by the hotsprings, and in heaps inside the lobby, are little foil-wrapped and bite-sized chocolates. As with other items in previous years, each of these chocolates comes with a dizzying side-effect upon consumption:

White Chocolate will overwhelm its consumer with the desire to talk and -- more specifically -- the desire to share. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to chat the ear off of anyone near them, perhaps spilling some personal details in the process. But being chatty is a two way street, and so they will also press upon their conversation partners for details of their own lives. It’s a lethal combination: a nosy over-sharer.

Milk Chocolate will flush its consumer with the desire to be warm and affectionate with those around them. Hugs and kisses on the cheek will abound. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to throw their arm around those near them -- clasping close friends and associates alike. Personal space is no longer an issue.

Dark Chocolate will inspire quite another flavour of affection in its consumer. Upon eating this treat, a character’s libido takes over the driving seat. Many people around them become terribly terribly attractive and, as lust courses through the character’s system, they’ll hope to convince someone back to their suite for a little hanky panky.

Chocolate Coated Marzipan -- smooth and silky on the tongue -- evokes a spontaneous sense of...marital bliss. Those who chow down on this treat will find themselves tracking down someone they know they simply don’t want to live without. Whether this is someone they were previously attracted to in the week or a total stranger, your character will find themselves proposing marriage. And, (in)conveniently for them, all marriages may take place in the resort’s own Vegas-style wedding chapel! All ceremonies will be performed by a droid-officiant who looks disturbingly like Elvis Presley. Witnesses are optional but encouraged.

[Considering the fact there's chocolates all over the place, it's no surprise that the first thing Florian does is snack on a bunch of white and milk chocolates.

After that he'll be running around excitedly exploring the whole place, and eventually curiously trying out the actual hot spring. It's so steamy and warm!]

[Wow, is that Ion? And so full of energy! Aang gives pursuit to catch up with him.]

Hey, wait up!

[He skids to a stop at the voice, attempting to spin around on the balls of his feet instead of turning normally like a normal person. Because why not!]

Hi Do you want to run with me too?

[He seems so much more excitable than usual. It's infectious! Aang hops in place.]

Sure! Where're we going?

[Didn't you know, Aang? Ion's got a split personality!]

Hmm...let's look at all the rooms! Do you think they'll all look different?

[Sounds legit.]

That's a great idea! I think they will look different... [And then, amazed.] But maybe some look the same!

[positivelycharged]

[Gasp.] But if they all look the same then how do we find out which room is which? Everyone would get lost!

[distressedude]

[Now the real question is, is Florian actually affected by the chocolate, or is he just sugar-high? Ion doesn't know about the chocolate's effects yet, so when he sees Florian zipping around, he assumes the latter. And he can't suppress a soft chuckle from where he's sitting. He'd never catch him on foot, so he'll have to settle for trying to call out to him.]

Florian!

[Maybe he's both affected and sugar-high. Though it might not make much of a difference, really. Florian runs right past and out of sight at first, but soon enough he manages to skid to a halt and run back again, stopping breathlessly in front of his brother.]

....Hi Ion!

[distressedude]

[When Florian vanished out of sight, he figured he'd have another opportunity to call out again when he zipped into the opposite direction... and sure enough, here he was!]

Hello, Florian... it certainly looks like you're enjoying yourself. Have you been running around this whole time?

[positivelycharged]

That's right! I've been running a lot, this place is new so I wanted to see everything! Have you seen everything yet, Ion?

[He leans in closer as he speaks, all super excited-like.]

[distressedude]

I've seen some of the rooms, but I'm afraid I haven't moved much further than the lobby just yet. Is there any place you would recommend?

[positivelycharged]

Oh, I looked in some of the bedrooms earlier, they've got really bouncy beds! You should try it, it's really fun!

[sugarglitch]

[There is another small child running around the place! And where there are two small children running around, high on chocolate, they're bound to crash into each other sooner or later...!]

--Oof! Hey! [She falls back and lands on her butt, fading in and out of pixelly code. She can't help it, not with as much candy as she has in her system!]

[positivelycharged]

[Florian falls back too, surprised at the crash and--whoa, what's she doing?]

--Are you disappearing? Don't disappear, I'm sorry! I won't bump into you again! [Don't goooooo]

[sugarglitch]

M'not disappearing! Give me a sec... [Give her a second to get this thing under control! It takes a moment or two, but finally she's tangible again. Whew.]

Sorry 'bout that. I've usually got it under control, honest!

[positivelycharged]

...Oh! So you're okay? [Whew, he thought he'd lost another one for a moment there.]

How do you do that? I didn't know people could make themselves appear again.

[sugarglitch]

I'm okay! [She brushes dust off of herself and, at his last question she just leans in to whisper-] I did it 'cause that's my superpower!

[She leans back, grinning.] It's pretty cool!

[positivelycharged]

[He listens veeerryy closely to her whisper, replying with a hushed whoaa...]

That is really cool, yeah! I don't have any superpowers myself, I think. It must be great to be able to do stuff like that!

[Whether it's from the influence of chocolate or his own high level of energy, Tear can't help worrying when she sees Florian running about. He might slip on water from a puddle!]

Florian, please be careful!

[Funny coincidence: just as she says that, Florian turns to look at her, steps into a puddle, slides a bit, hops, skips, pushes off a wall, starts losing his balance in an attempt to dodge someone--

...and hits the floor.]

[... Oops. Okay, she's willing to take full responsibility for distracting him as she rushes over, flinching in sympathy.]

Here, let me help you up. [Because that looked like it hurt.]

[That was kinda painful, sure. But at the same time it was kind of fun! The sliding part at least. He stays collapsed on the floor until Tear gets there, accepting her hand to help pull himself up before brushing himself off, carefully patting a scrape on his knee, looking around at his previous flight path, and smiling.]

...Do you think I can try sliding without falling over?

I'm not sure, but let's not try it right away. [Maybe she should take him to sit down somewhere so she could heal that knee, but there was probably water everywhere.]

This is the first time you've experienced something like that?

[He's had worse scrapes than this, but hey, help from Tear is always nice.]

You mean sliding? It's my first time sliding but I've done the falling over part before.
