EVENT LOG: FEATHERLY HAVEN RESORT & SPA

On the 17th, all characters will find an embossed invitation tucked inside the front cover of their journals, asking them to gather up by the hot springs for a marvelous party at the Featherly Haven Resort & Spa. Upon arriving, they’ll find that the area has been temporarily transformed into a luxurious vacation retreat. Although the weather is just as chilly as it should be in mid-February, the hot springs are compellingly warm and once the sun sets, the area is lit by grand torches. The usual hot springs buildings are somewhat incredibly replaced with what looks like a swanky resort -- though the building itself will disappear soon after the Shift’s end. There is a sizeable lobby, complete with plump couches and a droid-staffed bar. Each and every one of the hotel’s rooms is a honeymoon suite, stocked with champagne and fondue and yet more platters of fresh fruit. Courteous (albeit stoic) droids tend massage chairs and manicure stations on the resort's first floor, shaded by billowing, cream-coloured curtains. Others will be passing around festively coloured drinks, platters of fresh fruit, and -- of course -- huge complimentary towels to wrap up in once your soaking is complete: the whitest and fluffiest and most spa-like towels you ever did see.

Available both in the rooms, outside by the hotsprings, and in heaps inside the lobby, are little foil-wrapped and bite-sized chocolates. As with other items in previous years, each of these chocolates comes with a dizzying side-effect upon consumption:

White Chocolate will overwhelm its consumer with the desire to talk and -- more specifically -- the desire to share. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to chat the ear off of anyone near them, perhaps spilling some personal details in the process. But being chatty is a two way street, and so they will also press upon their conversation partners for details of their own lives. It’s a lethal combination: a nosy over-sharer.

Milk Chocolate will flush its consumer with the desire to be warm and affectionate with those around them. Hugs and kisses on the cheek will abound. Upon eating this treat, characters will want to throw their arm around those near them -- clasping close friends and associates alike. Personal space is no longer an issue.

Dark Chocolate will inspire quite another flavour of affection in its consumer. Upon eating this treat, a character’s libido takes over the driving seat. Many people around them become terribly terribly attractive and, as lust courses through the character’s system, they’ll hope to convince someone back to their suite for a little hanky panky.

Chocolate Coated Marzipan -- smooth and silky on the tongue -- evokes a spontaneous sense of...marital bliss. Those who chow down on this treat will find themselves tracking down someone they know they simply don’t want to live without. Whether this is someone they were previously attracted to in the week or a total stranger, your character will find themselves proposing marriage. And, (in)conveniently for them, all marriages may take place in the resort’s own Vegas-style wedding chapel! All ceremonies will be performed by a droid-officiant who looks disturbingly like Elvis Presley. Witnesses are optional but encouraged.

[Green gets a massage, himself, since it's an option. He even tries to convince the droids to give his Pokémon some treatment, as well. The trainer won't spend more than an hour relaxing, though, as he is restless as always. He starts looking for an exercise room, since most spas he's known of seem to have one.

He does get distracted briefly as Charizard eyes the chocolates, and he indulges the Pokémon, giving it a milk chocolate and taking one for himself. He's hushed about it, of course - no need to announce to the world that he likes to spoil his Pokémon - but he does take a handful more of milk and white. Inevitably, of course, Green's quest for the exercise room is derailed by Charizard acting very cuddly and Green unable to resist returning the attention.]

Come on, you lug.

[Still, Green scratches at the top of Charizard's head instead of recalling him into a Pokéball, for now. Guess there's nothing to do but snack on chocolates and sit off to the side and out of the way.]

Hello Green--I see you've taken advantage of the benefits offered here today as well?

[Hi Green, have +1 Pokemon Connoisseur that's spotted you now! It looks like Cilan's here too and has finished with whatever it is he wanted to do here before he (and Pansage, clinging to his arm) then look up at Charizard.] Oh, and hello to you as well, Charizard!

[Charizard lets out a fairly affectionate bellow, moving away from his trainer and nudging Pansage and Cilan with his nose. Green pushes at the dragon's neck, trying to get him to leave them alone.]

Yes, to some degree-- stop that, Charizard, you're being a pest.

[He's having a hard time sounding even remotely forceful, so preoccupied with struggling against his affectionate urges and...]

Have you been to any massage places before? I had, a few times, but I usually find them boring.

[...the sudden urge to babble about pointless things. Oh no, oh no...]

[cilantro]

[Cilan laughs a little when Charizard had started nudging them with it's nose.] Oh, it's okay! We don't mind at all!

[In fact he's more than willing to offer any headpats it wants in return, though Cilan then focuses on what Green just said next.] Hm? Ah...once or twice, I suppose, but it was somewhat of a rare taste of luxury back at home considering how busy my brothers and I were working at the gym and restaurant, and then more so when I started traveling around Unova with Ash and Iris.

[cooltrainer]

That makes sense. I have a lot of esteem for hard workers, so I guess I'm glad to hear that.

[Why he's babbling out loud those thoughts, though... and Charizard grumbles happily, nuzzling against Cilan's neck affectionately.]

[cilantro]

Oh? Well that makes us happy to hear as well. [It's hard to tell whether Cilan has eaten any of that chocolate too because he sort of says what's on his mind most of the time anyway...

Pansage shuffles aside a little from where it's clinging to the other side of Cilan's neck so that it's not in the fire-breathing Pokemon's way as Cilan offers it some headpatting.] My, your Charizard appears to have quite an affectionate taste today!

[cooltrainer]

Ah, yeah, this is very unusual for him. I'm sorry if he's bugging you.

[Charizard shuffles a little closer, pushing Green closer too. No come on! Quit making a cuddle sandwich out of him!]

[cilantro]

Oh, you don't have to apologize! He's not bothering us at all.

[Well not at the moment anyway. Pansage appears to be the only sane Pokemon here as it seems vaguely confused as to why this cuddling is even happening--Charizard normally doesn't look like the kind of Pokemon you'd expect for that...]

[cooltrainer]

[Well, eventually, Charizard will have both of the trainers in his grasp. Green only half-heartedly pushes at his Pokémon.]

What has gotten into you??

[cilantro]

[Only now is Cilan vaguely wondering if Charizard's behavior is in fact questionable.]

I take it this really is considered an unusual taste for it to be this affectionate with people?

[Not that we're complaining since it's not doing anything too unwarranted as far as affectionate Pokemon goes...]

[cooltrainer]

He's never been this pushy.

[But Green himself is affected, and... well. He eventually just wraps his arm around Cilan, sort of to get more space away from his dragon and sort of to hug him.]

[cilantro]

[...] Well, it seems to be contagious, as it looks like you're feeling an affectionate flavor yourself.

[But Cilan's tone is far from bothered with it (if anything he's kind of just surprised at the moment) as, without really thinking about it, he absentmindedly uses a free hand to ruffle Green's hair a little when he says that.]

Ah... that's a good point. It must be... something in the air. I wouldn't be surprised.

[cilantro]

Really? [Hm] I suppose that wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume, considering where we are.

[Though to be honest he sort of nearly forgot himself that this is Luceti, the place of weird things that can happen here...]

This isn't the worst this place has done, so it's no skin off of my back.

[He says, in the middle of this awkward hug sandwich...]

[Normally Cilan wouldn't pry and could pretty easily gather what the worse this place can do is (like the drafts), but he actually kind of wants to know now.]

As...worrisome of a taste as it is to know, I'm sure, I'm a little curious to know what the worst would be, in your opinion. [Do you feel like sharing with the class, Green?]

There was a particularly eventful week. I went from being anything from a vampire, to a girl, to a child all over again.

Shifts can be very eclectic at times.

[cilantro]

[Whoa] My, really? It sounds like that shift had quite an unstable taste--and here I thought that time where I thought I was Elesa for a day or two was as strange as it could get for me here, though I suppose I have dealt with a few odd tastes before and since then regardless.

[He's talking about during that week we all had amnesia--lucky for you Green, you didn't see how terribly awkward that was. Or even know who Elesa is to recognize what she would look like.]

And then there's the drafts. If you're fortunate, you'll be avoiding them every time.

[cilantro]

...Mm, right. Though, I suppose it might be considered more fortunate if they didn't exist in the first place.

[He's lucky to have not ended up on one yet, but that doesn't mean it's not any less stressful when his friends end up being a part of them instead.]

[Gold, unfortunately, made the same mistake at Green, having allowed himself to give Explotaro a milk chocolate, resulting in the pokémon being far more affectionate with him than usual, behaving akin to a cat with him, always rubbing against his legs and nuzzling them every chance he gets. Still, he's not about to let that ruin his fun, especially when he sees his senior trying to be a wallflower.

He takes it as a challenge.]

C'mon, Senior Green, don't tell me you plan to just hide off in the corner!

I've had my fun, I'm trying to get whatever's wrong with Charizard to wear off.

Maybe Charizard's unsatisfied with the level of fun you had.

I don't see why he would, I haven't kept on schedule all week.
