[Elie would rush in and save Jade, that's who! She sees the hunter and what looks to be one of her own. But he's not doing anything, is he? What the heck is going on? Something definitely isn't right.

So, without knowing too much (because what is reading about things on downtime), Elie will storm into the bubble and... why is there snow and why am I on a slope and slipping?!]

Woah, wh-what the heck?!

[After getting her footing, she'll look for the hunter and then for the man that was his... prisoner, she guesses. Elie will try to be stealthy about it so she won't be caught by the hunter.]

[At least she's not far from a path that goes along a side of the mountain. One that stops at a cab.

And walking up that wintry trail is someone who may or may not be recognizable to a Luceti resident, as it is none other than Nephry Osbourne.]

[Elie might have seen her around, but from the outside of this bubble, that woman looked like one of the bad guys. But if that woman was getting close to the other guy that was in here, Elie will finally shout at him.]

Hey! Get away from her! It's not a person, it's one of the bad guys! Heeeeeey!

[Jade himself is not seen until they enter the cabin. It is a small and cozy area. Jade sits in an armchair, drinking some tea. And there are two figures around as well:

One was A man known as Peony. And the other was Gelda Nebilim, clad in her labcoat. Neprhy seemed to enter after a particularly good joke had been said; Jade, Gelda and Peony were all laughing together. And Peony rose to greet Nephry with a kiss to the cheek.

When Elie came in and made her outburst, Nephry and Peony seemed unawares. But Gelda? She frowned severely. And Jade found his own smile fading as he adjusted his glasses.]

Explain yourself. What's the meaning of this outburst? [But he still manages a light grin.] I'm certain I would have heard if I had a niece...

The question to that was easy for Elie. She didn't know any of these people, but she knew one of them was one of the Cultists. One of the ones that was killing people.

So shaking her head hard, she finally speaks out her answer:

"One of them is one of the Cultists! The bad guys! The ones we're supposed to be fighting against! We have to get out of here or else it'll kill us!"

Had he forgotten where they were? As it was, this was actually pretty real-feeling, but they couldn't just be back where they were from before, and this place certainly wasn't where she was from. So, she continues.

"We were fighting, we were in that Malnosso place! How could we be here all of a sudden?! I'm not even from wherever this is!"

Thanks!

Everyone seemed puzzled by this odd girl and her ramblings. Jade observed everyone's reactions carefully, even in this state. Nephry and Peony seemed to not recognize her, so his joke theory definitely had no ground to it. And Gelda looked oddly bothered by it.

"I don't believe you were invited here, Miss," Jade spoke up as he adjusted his glasses. "This is simply a meeting for those of us who learned under the same teacher in our youth." He glanced towards Professor Gelda Nebilim, who was clearly the senior of the group.

"I almost thought that would be Saphir," Gelda said with a warm smile, as if Elie were not even there. "Don't tell me he's too busy to show himself here, again. Him and his breakthroughs in fon machine technology..."

Peony hazarded to chuckle. "He keeps himself so booked, you'd think he's an emperor or something". And Nephry replied to that comment with a playful elbow to his ribs.

"It's good that he's become his own man," he says somewhat slowly, as if it was a concept that just came to his mind.

The others all responded with some variation of "You're right, Jade."

And then Jade found himself looking back towards Elie, speaking matter-of-factly. "You're still here."
etherion: (YOU THERE!)

"I'm still here because one of THEM-" Said with a harsh point to the others in the room, "-is one of those shift people! They aren't here to be your friend! Why would you think we were... wherever we are when we were in an air fortress before!"

This was way too frustrating, but Elie wasn't about to just leave Jade here, not when she knew that something bad could happen. Not when she knew for sure that on the outside, she saw one of those hunter things. Who knew when it would show its true colours and just kill one or both of them? If it came down to it (and she was certainly already thinking to do so) she would draw her tonfa and start shooting. It might not be the best of ideas yet, but if it came down to it, she would do it.

"You do understand that you're speaking absolute nonsense currently, do you?" Jade said with a self-satisfied smirk.

The others chimed up with their own variations on "You're right, Jade."

"You'll need to explain yourself better," he then added.

But very quickly, Gelda turned to face him, with a shadow of a smile. "I doubt she'll make much more sense. Clearly, she needs help." And she turned to face Elie. "You should leave."
etherion: (aw hell no)

[personal profile] etherion 2013-04-06 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not nonsense if it's saving someones life. I'll save yours if it's the last thing I do up here!" Elie was really, REALLY hoping it wouldn't come down to that, but if it helped someone else, Haru and Shuda would understand. The last thing she wanted to see happen was someone else die, so hopefully both her and Jade would come out of this unscathed.

Within moments of speaking out, Elie's hands whipped both of her tonfa out from the holders on her belt, leveling them at the other people in the room.

"Guess I'll be doing this myself."
yourfononsarewhack: (what are you playing at)

[personal profile] yourfononsarewhack 2013-04-06 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Jade sprung to his feet. "What do you think you're doing?" he said sharply. "I won't let you hurt anyone in this room."

"Don't humor her, Jade," Gelda instructed. "She can't hurt any of us."

And Jade glanced back at Gelda thoughtfully before approaching to Elie. "It sounds like you're experiencing some kind of delusional episode. Lower your weapons, now."

This was getting more and more irritating by the minute. Hearing one person constantly speaking up, the other one she was trying to help telling her she was crazy... not only was it irritating, it was also pretty insulting!

After a few moments of thinking about it, glancing back between Jade, then to the others... it was completely obvious and she should have known the answer from the beginning.

"Sorry, but you're wrong."

And with that, it was open fire on those in the room in front of her. This was likely the only way out of this.
yourfononsarewhack: (frustrated)

[personal profile] yourfononsarewhack 2013-04-09 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Jade grit his teeth and lunged forward as Elie opened fire, ready to tear her apart in any number of ways. But he stopped and glanced around him first. Gelda, Peony, Nephry... They were all unharmed. Everything around him was still perfect.

But that doesn't make sense.

Gelda was now on her feet, approaching Jade. "We're lucky that I left a protective art in place. But Jade, you have to get her out of her, now."

Jade glanced silently towards Gelda as she spoke, taking in her words and trying to process them logically. Something just seemed very... off about it. Her explanation seemed to make sense to him - except when he thought on it further, he had trouble finding logical support. It was as if the entire reasoning of her answer was just because she had said so.

He turns to face Elie and stares her down with an intense look on his face that was very rarely seen. And he practically growled, "Explain yourself. Give me a reason I shouldn't kill you where you stand."
etherion: (i'm not sure what i'm looking at)

[personal profile] etherion 2013-04-09 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
What... just happened? Or rather, what didn't happen? Elie stared in disbelief, angry that didn't workbut also a little more anxious about this situation. She had gotten herself in deeper than she had imagined, hadn't she?

When Jade spoke to her, it took her a moment to even process the question. Why shouldn't he kill her now?

Finally, she turned to face him, fully serious, and unwavering in her voice.

"Because you're in danger and aren't realizing it. I'm trying to help you, trying to save your life! There's been enough casualties in this week long battle, I don't want to see another one! Please, you have to believe me!"
yourfononsarewhack: (okay i'm pretty damn suspicious)

[personal profile] yourfononsarewhack 2013-04-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"How can I be in danger? I'm a highly skilled fonist surrounded by people whom I've know my entire life. What is wrong with this equation?" Jade's red eyes glared from behind his glasses. Whether or not she was a savior, he'd treat her like any other enemy until he received answers that made sense to him. She definitely didn't belong here. But there was something else he felt, a slight nagging sensation about everything around him, that just didn't belong. But Jade wasn't one to follow such vague gut feelings. He needed cold, hard facts.

"Jade, leave her be," said Gelda in concern, as she started to hover over Jade's shoulder. "I have to teach you more about the Seventh Fonon." Jade only glanced towards her sharply. All of this confusion was making him all the more sharply aware of everything suspicious around him.

"Because from the outside, you were being approached by one of the guys we're fighting, not the people that are here. Do I really have to start shooting again to get you to realize that nothing in here is right?"

Elie was readying her tonfa again as she spoke, not really wanting to hit Jade, so much as going to attempt to get everyone else. This situation wasn't right, the way things were going weren't right, and Jade not listening wasn't right.

"Would these people actually want to trap you? Would they want to kill you? Because that's what's going to happen if you stay here and don't escape!"
yourfononsarewhack: (super frown)

[personal profile] yourfononsarewhack 2013-04-19 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"As I've seen it, you're the only one who's trying to kill." He said as he turned back to look at Elie. "These people I've known for nearly the entirety of my life. I trust them. And we've been leaving in peace. Why would any of them be trapping me when our lives together have been so..." The word stayed on the tip of his tongue for a moment, as if some faint realization was coming to him. It wasn't until now, when he was about to say this last word aloud, that he felt that feeling of how wrong everything was and why it was so. It all came back to that one word, which should be synonymous with 'impossible'.

"...ideal."

Gelda was trying to tug at his shoulder. "You know we'd never harm you, Jade. We care for you - we put up with you, unlike everyone else. And we're proud of you, Jade. Of the man you've become. No one can replicate that."

And Jade's eyes widened, his posture stiffening. Replicate. It was all coming back to him.

Everything about this was impossible. A shallow replica of an ideal fantasy. And he said, sharply and quietly. "I must leave."
