[Though Mia finds many ways to keep busy on this draft, she spends a fair bit of time in the designated medical area too, thinking it is where spare hands are most needed. A free moment presents itself and she spots Pilouette assisting someone from another enclosure. She might not be in over her head but she looks like she feels that way.

Mia makes her way over there, tapping Pilouette on the shoulder gently to make her presence known.]

What can I do to help you?

M-Mia...!

[She's so relieved to see Mia that she jumps up from where she's sitting, forgetting that she's still holding on to the wrist of her "patient," causing the man to let out a sharp cry. Pilouette sits back down, letting out a quiet stream of "sorrysorrysorrysorry" before looking back to Mia.]

Mia, u-um, I uh, th-think his wrist is broken, but um...I can't remember quite how to...uh...

[She trails off, her shoulders slumping a little, her worried frown deepening, partially because she feels like she should know this and partially because she feels bad about not being able to easily help the person next to her.]

It's all right. [She says it to both of them. It took a lot of control not to wince when Pilouette jumped up like that.] I'm sorry for startling you. I also think you do know what to do here.

[To avoid any more incidents, though, Mia puts her hand around the one Pilouette has holding the man's wrist. Just in case.]

Slow yourself down and think about it. I'll get you anything you need.

[It would be faster and easier to just zap him with a little Psynergy...if she had the energy to do so.]

Right...um...!

[She takes a deep breath, thinking hard. Knowing that her first aid teacher is here helps her nerves a bit.]

For a broken bone...for a broken bone, I need a splint, right? I, um, I think I have something like that in my bag...

Save the things in your bag for emergencies, while you're here with people who can bring you supplies. [Their patient doesn't look too pleased about being used as a learning tool.] I'll handle that. While I'm gone, have you been working on any Luceti magic?

[Because that might help him, and her. It has a way of narrowing one's focus.]

[The expression on the patient's face is enough to Pilouette shrink a back, just the tiniest bit, in embarrassment. Even if he's from another enclosure, she doesn't like people thinking she's incompetent.]

Magic...? Um, w-well, no. I'm not sure I even can learn it.

Okay. [It's seamless, along with the just-behave look she shoots the man scowling at them. On second thought, though, Pilouette might benefit more from the chance to get away for a minute. Plus, she could use the experience.]

Why don't you go find a proper splint for him then? I'll see if I can get enough Psynergy together to heal him at least a little bit.

Right! I'll totally be right back before you know it!

[She gently lets go of the patient's wrist, before nervously scuttling away to find a splint. She's a little disappointed with herself for not being able to help him right away, but hopefully, she should be able to do something soon.

It's not long before she returns with a splint, some bandages, a small washcloth and a cold pack.]

Okay! I, um, I think I have everything we need!

[In the meantime Mia cast one small spell, and thanks to that, Pilouette's patient looks to be in far less pain than he was a few moments ago.]

Then I will get out of your way here.

[She doesn't go far - just a step or two. This is not an emergency and it's something she can handle on her own if she remembers not to think too far ahead.]

Uh...!

[When Mia steps back, Pilouette looks to her for a moment, before giving a firm nod and turning back to her patient. Asking him to hold still, she begins fitting the splint to his arm, trying her best not to move his arm too much.]

[For the most part, Mia just watches, keeping an ear out for any new emergency that might arise elsewhere in the area. Pilouette can handle this; she might need only the encouragement of having someone there just in case.]

[After fitting the splint, Pilouette begins to wrap it with bandages. She's going slowly, partially to make sure she does it properly and partially due to her own anxiety. She looks for Mia briefly, as if looking for reassurance.]

[She's doing fine. Mia wears a supportive smile, and moves to the other side of Pilouette's patient in order to ask him quietly if he has any other injuries.]

[Pilouette smiles, just a bit and begins to wrap the bandages a little faster, feeling just a little more confident. It helps that the man is distracted by Mia's questioning.

She secures the bandages, before picking up the washcloth and cold pack, not quite sure how to get their attention and let them know she's finished.]

Uh...!

[What an awful place for a first real test-run of doing this sort of thing, Mia thinks. She was watching, though, and in the absence of anything else they can do for this man...well, that's about that.]

We probably can't stop you from going back to the fight if you really want to go, but at least rest your arm for a while and try not to use it. Others might be available later to heal it again. [They are all very busy, at the moment, and more people keep showing up.]

[Pilouette looks to Mia as she speaks, still a little amazed at how calm she seems to be. She nods in agreement with Mia, then hurriedly wraps the cold pack in the washcloth and holds it toward him.]

H-Here! Um, this should help a little bit, too! S-So that it doesn't swell or anything!

[Mia seems satisfied when he takes it and goes. Once he's safely out of earshot, she steps closer to Pilouette and lowers her voice a bit.]

How are you doing here? [Be honest.]

W-Well, I'm uh, okay, I guess.

[Her shoulders slump, just a little.]

...Actually, I still pretty nervous, I guess. I thought I could remember everything just fine, but once everything started...It' just, I've never been in a place where I had to see so many people hurt or...

[Or dying.]

It just totally freaks me out.

A little nervousness keeps you from making quick and wrong decisions. I would be more concerned if you were too confident to be nervous. And you did a good job just now.

[Lift those shoulders right back up, missy. Or Mia will do it for her, one hand on each.]

It is all right to take a break and collect yourself when you need to. Especially when you're learning, and for whatever reason no one managed to be nearby to help you with problems.

[At the words "good job," Pilouette straightens up a little. It's nice to hear some praise, deflecting some of the doubts she has towards herself. She nods, her expression relaxing a bit.]

I guess that's right...If I don't stop to clear my head when I need to I'll just end up making stuff worse, huh?

You certainly won't be able to do your best. How much have you done?

[If Mia has learned anything about Pilouette over the past several months, it's that a 'good job' can go a long way.]

Uh...I haven't done much. Mostly, I've just been getting supplies for other people or holding things while someone else worked on an injury. Bandages and that kinda thing. And, um, redoing bandages that were loose or dirty.

I that broken wrist just now was the biggest thing I've done on my own. Or...well, kind of on my own.

On your own enough. What do you think about all of this?

[She kind of stares at Mia, as if being asked her opinion on such important things is somewhat foreign to her. The gears in her head start to turn. What does she think about this...?]

[With an ear on the other action in the room, Mia waits patiently for her answer. Goodness, she looks so surprised.]
