[ Kissing is (literally) nothing to Saten, so it's not that part that she hates about this whole "mistletoe" thing. No, what she hates is that it can so easily trap her, rendering her completely unable to escape its grasp, until she gets someone else's help. She also doesn't like the sudden mood swings, the irrational compulsions, and the sudden weakness. But she really doesn't like being trapped.

Any place she spots it, she'll quickly pull it down, but she's not used to having to be so much on her guard from such a small thing. More often than not, she's stuck before she notices it.

Even if you help her out, she's not exactly going to be grateful... ]

[After a fateful encounter with Firo early on the 26th, Revy's taken to being on guard for those shitty little weeds hanging everywhere. It's so bad (or maybe she's just that pissed off) that she'll actually use her precious ammo to shoot down whatever mistletoe she can find. (In fairness, she discovered a box of bullets in the shops recently. Merry fucking Christmas to her, indeed.) True, it's less exciting than even the basic simulation at the Battle Dome, but hey, it's for a good cause. Not that Revy necessarily cares about "good causes." It's just a change of pace, that's all.

Perhaps Saten would like to join Revy in her holiday rampage. Or maybe she accidentally ends up stuck with her under the mistletoe. Or both.]

[ Both. Both sounds good.

Well not to Saten, obviously, but that's why these things are left up to the players.

She wasn't paying Revy any real attention, but then Revy happens to take out a mistletoe that Saten was about to go for, and that's when she finally turns and looks her way. ]

It seems we have the same idea.

[Revy gives the other woman a considering glance. This is the first time she's seen Saten since that thing with the cultists invading and brainwashing the village. A very, very faint wave of leftover sisterly affection ripples through Revy until she squashes it out. What bullshit feelings.]

If you're goin' weedwhackin', then yeah.

[ Sisterly affection can certainly go die in a fire.

Saten's attention is more on Revy's weapon than Revy herself, mostly because she's still very unfamiliar with guns. ]

How much luck have you had?

Luck of the devil himself. Gonna need a goddamn graveyard for all the mistletoe I got.

[Something catches her eye -- a mistletoe sprig has actually Shifted into existence some distance to her right. Revy snaps out her arm, takes aim, and fires. BANG!]

[ Saten doesn't jump, per se. But she immediately stiffens, gaze still on Revy's gun. She's not a fan of projectile weapons, and probably will never be. ]

I meant getting caught.

[Just as well. Saten with a gun is...well, technically it's kinda superficial considering her powers, but it would still be mildly terrifying.]

At least twice. Two times too many, in my opinion.

[And she'll be damned if it happens again.]

Not less than me.

[ It's a small consolation.

But over Revy's left shoulder, Saten spots another mistletoe. She shifts her stance and the shadows near it instantly turn black and envelop it. There's a sound that's almost like snapping, then shreds of the plant sprinkle to the floor. ]

Ridiculous pests.

[Revy turns at the sound of the snapping, but she only spots the the remnants of the poor mistletoe fluttering through the air. It puts her a little on edge, or, well, more on edge than she usually is. She didn't see Saten move, so she's assuming the woman has magical powers of some sort. But she would've liked to see what they were in order to properly assess Saten's potential threat levels.]

No kiddin'. Does this shit come around every year or what?

I don't think so. It happened last year as well. But that was the first time I'd seen it. Never before that.

Feh. Never liked Christmas anyway. [Well, she hasn't liked it for a good long while, at least. And her reasons for liking it were always more practical rather than spiritual (even if she had believed in God, once).

Revy stalks around the nearby area, casing it for any stragglers.]

You seeing any more of those fuckers?

They'd be gone the moment I saw any more.

[ Even still, she's looking around to double-check as well. ]

That holiday is not anything we had back in my world.

[ But of course, because anything and everything the Malnosso play with become tricky little bastards, the moment she's done looking around around and pauses, unbeknownst to Saten a fresh mistletoe sprig appears way up above her and roots her where she stands. ]

[Revy doesn't notice the fresh mistletoe above Saten, mainly because it's very well-hidden. She circles back around, coming to pass by the other woman. She's juuust out of the mistletoe's range, but it's entirely possible that the mistletoe could compel Saten to reach out and grab Revy so that she is...]

[ Saten isn't even turned towards Revy, but once the other woman passes close enough, she reaches out and grabs her to tug her just a little bit closer. She looks down in surprise, then half a second later, realizes that there would be only one reason why she'd ever deliberately grab someone like that without realizing. ]

Shit!

[ Her gaze snaps upwards as shadows gather over the two of them, searching out the mistletoe that she already knows has to be there. But it's too late: trapped, her powers are already unable to touch it, and mistletoe remains safe from the ring of darkness trying to push in and reach it. ]

[Revy is so caught off-guard that she doesn't even realize what situation she's in until she sees Saten attempting to destroy the mistletoe above them.]

What the hell did you do that for, bitch?

[It's a rhetorical question; Revy's just pissed that she got trapped again.]

I didn't.

[ Even though she did, sort of. She doesn't even glance towards Revy, keeping her gaze towards the mistletoe as she continues to try reach it. No she is not doing this, she is going to destroy that cursed thing if it's the last thing she does. ]

Well, I don't fuckin' see anyone else here!

[No, it does not yet occur to Revy that perhaps the mistletoe could be at fault for Saten's action. But she nevertheless aims her guns upwards at that damn plant, firing off multiple rounds to get it down and hopefully free the both of them.

...how the shit are all her shots missing it, it's right fuckin' there -- ]

[ Dammit this is frustrating. Finally Saten stops trying to reach it for lack of any appreciable progress, and starts to survey the space for any other possibilities. ]

Those bastards need to be less thorough.

[At the last, Revy finally lowers her arms. She's clearly wasting ammo at this point.]

Arrrgh! Fuck this!

[She heaves an angry sigh and crosses her arms, pointedly not facing Saten. Maybe if they wait it out long enough the mistletoe will let them go. Maybe.]

[ Saten doesn't need to sleep. How long can Revy last? ]

This wouldn't have happened if you didn't move so close.

[ because clearly there's no way that she takes any blame for any part of this ]

[Don'tcha know, rage is almost as good of a stimulant as caffeine.

Of course, almost nothing can stand up against a shift most of the time.]

[Aaaaand she's out due to mistletoe fuckery. For the second time.

She is going to be fucking pissed whenever she wakes up.]

[ ...

Saten has seen this happen. She has never been stuck with this effect herself, but she's seen this happen.

For a good ten seconds she just stares at Revy lying there on the ground. Then she gives a nudge with her foot to roll Revy over a little. ]

You'd better be faking. And you'd better get up right now.

[ She lifts her foot and starts pressing it against Revy's neck, but she won't do it for long and she's not doing it hard at all. As tempting as killing Revy to get free might be. ]

[WHY THE FUCK WOULD SHE FAKE THIS BULLSHIT, YOU STUPID COW

-- is what Revy would probably be saying in response if people could, in fact, consciously talk while they were also asleep. But since people can't, Revy has absolutely no answer for Saten, not even a drowsy grumble or a snore. She's so rude. :|]
