The adventure to the past is over; the villagers have all been sent home to their own time. But things are different. The changes of the past have echoed into the future. And the world has responded in the strangest way. Why are so many people here all of a sudden? And why are their memories such a mess?

[It's while Perona's on her way out of the restaurant that she happens upon the...peculiar sight on a young lady wearing a blindfold. That's a bit odd, but hey, if someone is blind, then they have to make due somehow, right? Others might be startled by seeing someone with eyes that cannot see or something like that; who knows?

She hadn't meant to hold the door open for the young lady, Perona's definitely not that nice to people she doesn't know or especially like, but she's knocked off kilter by the strange sight. It wasn't exactly something she was prepared to see.Though speaking of seeing...this girl's making her way around relatively well...ish. That's kind of impressive, especially without a cane or anything.]

[Yeah, if Perona thought it was impressive for her to be walking around like that, she'll find it even more impressive when she turns and looks directly at her! Or, you know, she'll find it creepy. Which happens more often than not when Cheyenne is involved.]

[Still, Cheyenne's not one for forgetting her manners, so she'll give a little curtsy -- but not a smile.]

[Not so much creepy (she's seen creepier), but definitely a bit unsettling, and rather peculiar. She's almost assured this girl might actually be able to see behind that blindfold, judging by how well she's moving around... Why wear it then? It's not fashionable, and it's actually kind of ugly. Perona can't imagine it'd be very comfortable, either.

And wow there is something grating about that kind of thanks, if you can even call it that. What the heck is this chick's problem? Weirdo.]

Are you? [You don't sound like it.]

Am I what?

[She can see the changes in Perona's mood in reflected in her soul, but can't quite follow what they mean. And unfortunately, the question doesn't really give her any hints either.]

[hollower]

Thankful. You don't sound like you are! ...Or look it.

[She huffs, closing the door after she steps back to stay inside and keep the cold out. Perona can't quite place it, but there's something grating abut just how...nonchalant and placid this girl is. She shouldn't get upset, the behavior is similar to Cindry, but...ngh, it's hard to not be puffy about something weird and different.]

Is there more to thanking someone than using words and a polite gesture?

[This is a totally serious question here. Cheyenne has smiles when thanking people in the past, but that was because she was usually thanking them for something that made her particularly happy, and happy meant she had to smile! But was it always necessary?]

[...This girl is seriously weird. It's like she really has no idea what Perona's talking about. It really does kind of remind her of Cindry, and how cold and dead she was...pun not intended.]

You have to actually mean it! It you don't mean what you say, then you're just a liar!

I would have merely not said it at all if I did not mean it. What reason would I have for lying?

[Perona 'hmph's quietly, putting her hands on her hips. She can think of a few reasons - pompousness, thinking you're too good to help, looking down on the one who helped... - but that doesn't seem like the case this time around. Drat. Seems like she messed up.]

Fine then. But you have a very strange way of being thankful.

I suppose I could try to look more "thankful" though I cannot promise it would look any more or less sincere. I am not the sort of creature who excels at expressing emotions, as it is not something my kind are known to possess in the first place.

[She's tried using the super happy smile face before and it usually just creeped people out since it contrasted so much with her usual disposition.]

Creature? [Aha, so the answer comes to light. Perona's been desensitized by both her world and Luceti to not be all too shocked to learn that what appears to her as a human being may be eons away from what is correct.]

And what sort of creature are you, then? [One that can't easily feel emotions...hm. And the blindfold, too. Maybe that's not just for blindness. Oh! Perhaps a Gorgon (even though she doesn't have snake hair, boo)? *_* Man, that'd be cool. O-Or a basilisk! Can't vampires hypnotize? Ah, but the sun...]

I am what's known in my previous world as an illusionist. A type of monster that feeds on souls.

Though I do feel it necessary to mention that I am a rare exception among my kind in that I am a peaceful illusionist.

[You know, just in case Perona is afraid Cheyenne's just gonna munch on her or something.]
