Mass-Interaction in Desset

Who: Draftees.
What: FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES... or wander around. idfk.
When: Anytime this week.
Where: Desset City
Summary: Mass-interaction post in the city for the poor souls who've been drafted.
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R.

[With permission from the mods, I've gone ahead and put up this... post... for everyone who was interested in actually threading in the city. You can either prose or write in first-person; totally up to you. Actually threading a fight with the Third Party is also optional. Just keep in mind that if you do you'll have to be the one controlling the enemy's actions and whatnot. If you're not sure how to go about that, just remember the information they've provided us with. They're not very tough, but if you still need an idea with how they fight, just read up on this a bit. Please do remember that the enemies we're fighting are weaker compared to the ones previously fought, though. |D;

But yeah. Mass-interaction, guys. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.]

[Ted would like to believe that he either borrowed it, or that the owl had tricked him and he had been innocent about the whole ordeal. The first one was slightly more appealing since he actually sounds like he had control over what happened.

But, anyway, after trekking forever and just narrowly avoiding getting attacked for the nth time sometime after he met up with Noel, he finally spots a familiar face. He couldn't avoid one ambush though and well... he wasn't exactly happy at the result if his limp is any indication. Staying outside for that long with a badly bruised leg really does wonders for his pride.]

Albert.

[It has been awhile since Albert has seen Ted. The strange ways that the Malnosso decide to remove draftees from the battlefield (he has noticed that he seems to get in much later than others and leave a little earlier) has led to infrequent run-ins with the other draftees.

He walks forward to meet Ted, his borrowed staff tapping arrhythmically on the cement.]

You're limping, Ted.

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's nothing I can't handle. [For now, at least. He'd be in trouble if he runs into any more opponents.] I'm going to have to ask for replacement scrolls though.

[... Assuming the owl is with him though, Ted might give the owl a halfhearted glare (which he'll deny is a pout, because he never pouts) for leaving him behind, otherwise, he turns to Albert.] I hope you fared better than me, at least.

No water scrolls? [Albert glanced back down at Ted's injured leg pointedly. Meanwhile, the giant owl spares Ted a brief stare before preening its feathers busily.]

I haven't had any harmful encounters yet. [Though it did somewhat sting his pride when he had to evade or retreat so often.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
I only had two, and one of them got destroyed before I even had the chance to use it. [Stupid owl.]

At least that makes one of us. Sorry about disappearing, at that.
chikaidestroyer: (Glance through a fringe)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-18 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Destroyed... Hn. [Albert opens his satchel to see just how many scrolls he's carrying. The only water scroll he has at the moment is a Kindness Rain. He takes out a Healing Wind scroll and offers it to Ted as he continues speaking.]

Do not worry; there was no harm done on my side. [On your side, on the other hand...] I did wonder what happened when I didn't see you again. Did you lose the owl at some point?

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

[Taking advantage of that scroll's power now.] Mid-flight. I'm not sure how that happened.
chikaidestroyer: (Patiently explaining)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives the owl a look. The owl tilts its head, almost innocently.]

I suppose that's why you need a saddle for riding something like an owl. At least you weren't dropped into the midst of enemies. [Trying to be a little optimistic here.] How many cultists did you see?

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Funny thing about that... [Coughs. That was not exactly an experience he'd rather remember. Good thing it was only about two or three of them.]

Quite a lot. I spent most of my time avoiding them though.
chikaidestroyer: (You have my attention)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He pauses at the way Ted trails off.] ...You were actually dropped amongst some of them?

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods, sighing.] That mostly explains why one scroll was destroyed.
chikaidestroyer: (Looking out there)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
You still have arrows, at least? [Not that Ted was likely to have used them if he had been running.] We will likely be out here for awhile longer. [...An understatement; he's still got at least nine hours before he'll be recalled to rest.]
Edited 2010-03-19 04:46 (UTC)

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods, showing him his quiver. He had used some at a few points, hence there was an obvious space where some arrows could have occupied, but otherwise it was mostly full.]

It's a little more quiet on the field than I would have expected though. [Considering they were supposed to be up against 200 enemies. He stretches his leg experimentally, trying to see if it still hurts. He lets a little hum of approval when he didn't feel any pain, just a bit of stiffness.]
chikaidestroyer: (Eyes closed in concentration)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
It's a very large city. We're used to 400 residents in the confines of the village. [He gestures vaguely.] It isn't anything like how we usually fight our battles.

I can't say that I like it.

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't doubt it. You're used to something more large-scaled, I take it?

It probably doesn't help that people basically scattered themselves all over the place either. [No organization whatsoever. Not that he did any better getting lost though.] No plans, no formation... This isn't any different from going out on the field to fight monsters. [Only they weren't really monsters.]
chikaidestroyer: (Looking out there)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
[dryly] Much more large-scaled.

The Malnosso don't make it any easier for us, since we aren't being recalled or sent out at the same time. I haven't returned to our quarters until long after nightfall. [pause] Have you noticed any patterns yourself?

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Not much, to be honest, aside from the fact that I normally get back to the quarters by midnight. [He looks around for a moment, habit mostly, trying to see if there were any nearby enemies.]

We should probably move to a less visible area.
chikaidestroyer: (Glance through a fringe)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
[He files away that information until he can talk to other draftees, then follows Ted's gaze.]

Indeed. We're already more visible than necessary. [...A pointed look at the giant owl.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
... Couldn't you leave him behind?
chikaidestroyer: (Patiently explaining)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
I could. He provides decent transportation at times. [Another wry look as he considers what Ted is saying.] ...Yes, we can certainly leave him behind. [If the bird doesn't try to follow.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
Not now. [Since they were all out here, and he supposed the owl was an ally.] I was thinking he might be safer in the quarters at least, but if he can be used for transportation... I suppose it's a good reason as any here. [Definitely not a bad reason to bring him around at least.]
chikaidestroyer: (Glance)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose if we did not need live steeds, we could do without the owl. But as it is, this isn't the time to learn how to use a "jeep." [Referring to Derek's relatively large vehicle.]
chikaidestroyer: (Glance through a fringe - darker)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
That metal contraption that somewhat resembled a wagon. [He gestures vaguely, not knowing how else to describe it.] Probably more efficient transportation, but it's technology we don't know of.

[He stops talking as he sees shadows overhead.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Ted would have complained about these weird contraptions other worlds possess (like that stupid movie which was actually a television with a dvd set he didn't know how to use anyway) when he notices Albert looking away. He turns to the direction he's looking at, trying to see what was wrong.]
