No cut for this -- this is a MASS INTERACTION POST for the You Are What You Love event! For those of you who don't want to have to post up actual entries in your characters' journals (though you are of course still free to do that), this is the place to be all week if you just want to toss out random shenanigans! (Or more serious shenanigans. Or whatever brand of shenanigans you prefer, really.) There's no real need to state your date/location in the subject line of your tag, but you may feel free to do so!

[So this is the girl that Knives became so upset about before. Well, one this is cleared up at least a little.] She was... like us.

Yes. [He is suddenly frustrated that Vash doesn't know her and the soft little face scrunches up into a glare.] You still don't know...

[He wants to break out in a rage, his fists are shaking at his sides. But he can't do anything in this body... with that, he turns to go into the clothing store. His feet are starting to get frostbitten.]

[At first Vash thinks of letting it go, but no. If he was going to find more out, now would be the best time for it. Don't mind your brother as he tries to take advantage of your compromised position and follows you into the clothing store.]

[Knives will just be looking at clothes that are the appropriate size with a disgruntled expression, then he glances at Vash.]

That face is infuriating. [He says harshly and then turns his back to go look at shoes. How he wishes he had his usual power...]

[Alright. Vash had come in intending to ask more about this strange girl in front of him, but there's something else that has bothering him for over a hundred and thirty years now.]

...what happened Knives? I can't believe you didn't love her.

[Knives shoots Vash a look.]

Your memory is flawed.

That doesn't answer my question.

Even if I were inclined to answer your question, it would be pointless because your memory is different from mine. [See? He did answer the question.]

[Fine. He'll try another question.] How did we learn about her?

[Again, the anger about Vash not knowing this information flares up and he's silent for a moment, gripping the pile of clothes tightly. When he answers, his voice is cold.]

We found her medical file on the ship.

She was born on the ship too? [No. It wasn't possible. Rem would have told them! And yet... here she was, standing in front of him.]

Born and died before us. [He turns slowly to give Vash a hard look.] They killed her. [He pauses, the shaking increasing and the angry look becoming less controlled.] The crew. Rem included.

REM AND THE CREW WOULD NEVER DO THAT!

[Knives turns to fully face Vash, pure rage on his face.]

Your undying faith in them is disgusting. They were humans! Of course they took what they wanted from Tessla, drained her life before she could even live it for their own selfish desires!

You're lying. [There has to be something here. Could he have lost a memory with the sight in his eye when he died? No. Rem would never let something like that happen. He knows that. How could there memories.

Could this... not be his Knives? He heard of alternate realities before, but... it couln't...]

I have no reason to lie. [His tone is deadly.] They ran experiments on her and she died slow and painfully. They didn't even give her a proper funeral, they stuck her remains in a tank for further study. You were there, you saw it yourself.

[But that was a different Vash...]

They would never do that!

[Damn this small, helpless body. The urge to hurt you especially with that face is overwhelming.]

Continuing to say that won't change the truth, Vash.

[Vash speaks softly, more to himself.]

It's wrong. It's not the truth. [Not HIS truth.]

[Knives makes a disgusted sound and walks over to the changing area. His feet are bleeding a little and he's done talking about Tessla while trapped in her body. He turns to give Vash another piercing look and speaks again with a deadly tone.]

I know what I saw. And I will never forgive them.

Even... even if it was true. [Which it's NOT.] It's not right, to blame everyone for the mistakes of a few. They're not all the same person.

[But there is something that can be taken care of now.] You need to take care of your feet. [Today has been so emotional, he's not sure if he can really fight with you anymore today.]

[Glare. It IS true, you fool. But Knives' expression is just unyielding at the first part.] All humans are alike.

[He doesn't bother glancing down at his feet. He just 'hmphs' dismissively.] That is why I am putting shoes on.

They are not all the same.

[A pause.] You should bandage and clean them out. You don't know what you might have step in.

[He just gives a long suffering glare at the first part.]

I can take care of myself, Vash. [Though he actually has no clue where to get those kinds of supplies to tend to himself, he can figure it out.]

[There is one good thing about still having his own coat. He reaches into it and takes out the small first aid kit he carries. It's a good idea to keep one of these on you at all time and well stocked when you're an outlaw.

He's just going to hold it up and wave it when you come out of that changing room.]
